SaintJimmy
Wow you're a noob. Im pretty sure 90% of people dont really care about how the character talks, blah blah or whatever the f*ck you just added. Look at all the people that like Saints Row, and the character you play doesn't even talk! Lmao. Its just about having fun and doing missions, w.e "I dont want to play this game because I dont like the way Niko talks OMG!!" JohnnyK are you a homo? How ironic, you call me a homo but yet your defending a visual man in a game....... Though you are complaining about a visual man. If you really think im gay, you got myspace? Ill show you my girl. This is the internet so anything gose....did you know i married katie price? anyway yea if Niko was more cheerful and happier i would of enjoyed it alot more you gotta admit he is very bleak and only thinks about money(for some unknown reason) come to think about it i dont even recall hearing Niko even laugh, someone said "what about the saints row guy he dosen`t talk" who even said i liked saints row? i just like the look of 2 is all it looks fun. Um, we're not defending a visual man in a game. We're defending his character and what he stands for. f*ck, I'm calling it a 'he'. Its just a character in a video game, and if people like it, cant they stick up for it without it being some sort of homoerotic gesture? 02134
I think it is Niko because he is god awful imo i think he is a boring hipocrit and while playing he hardly talks and is never happy also in missions he dosen`t like to kill people but yet while you roam around you can kill as many people as you like with out remorse. i know R* wanted to make this realistic but jeez they should of made Niko cheer the f*ck up. I love how he hardly talks, so much better than verbose CJ. I like how he's not happy, better than a happy character. It fits more realistically to have an unhappy person committing crimes. What you're implying is that the game shouldn't allow you to kill as many people as you want off the missions? Doesn't even fit with the theme of the game, open-endedness. CJ was hilarious, during the mission "Vertical Bird" when I had to do some sneaking I use the silent pistol and CJ starts yelling "You think I'm a bitch? huh punk!?" Then the alarm goes off. Algonquin Assassin
I agree it was fun in the old games, but it was also frustrating. Sometimes I like to free roam in peace, with out some f**khead from a certain gang shooting at me for no reason. Also I think by making the gangs inconspicous it makes it more challenging. I mean they blend in so much, it's hard to tell them apart from regular peds. I've triggered wars by accident, because I couldn't tell if they were gang members. I remember after the Out of the Closet mission had finished I was getting shot at in the diner (I'm assuming they were Russians) so I ran outside, and it was almost like World War 3. He's a hitman. If I was concerned about revenge, money, and killing I sure as hell wouldn't be a happy chap either. Besides he does laugh at certain points. I think you need to pay a bit more attention to the story. He has a great sense of humour. Most of the Roman/Brucie cutscenes make me laugh. I remember the first time he said Brucie takes Bullshark Testosterone up the ass, I was in stitches. Horatio Humboldt
...did you know i married katie price? Ah, so you have the same taste in women that you have in games John. Can somebody please tell me the parts when Niko is always complaining about money? I really didn't see that part of him or remember him ranting about it and I've played through 3 times now. Also, he isn't just a cold killer, there are times when he really shows human characteristics (you can see the guy he wants to be). For example, when he first meets Michelle in her apartment. He seems nervous and uncomfortable, even shy. Not exactly the cold killer. Also, theres that great scene when he loses his temper and trashes that guys Camera then says 'sorry', notice that he doesn't say it in a sarcastic way, he seems genuinely sorry for his momentary loss of control. He also (If you choose to play him that way) shows mercy on numerous occasions. I like him, definitely the most 'fleshed out' GTA character yet. Not saying he's the best but certainly the most realistic.

KollarGTAMF
No... its because this f*cking game is pretty much just a large barely interactive 3D painting... Thats it...
CarnageRacing00
I agree with DoubleOGJohnson, it was much better when the gangs played a prominent role in the game. In IV they're all too inconspicuous and you never see anybody doing anything. I was hoping to see gangsters at war, and to have to watch my back when i go into certain areas. It would make LC so much more fun I stumbled upon a drug deal in an alley way tonight. I killed them both and took their money.
Werven
I never really played any of the extra features in SA, I just like doing stupid sh*t and going on killing sprees, and im getting the game early friday, so I can enjoy all that soon. You have a strange idea of what "interaction" is. Apparently, any game made from the 1980s up to the early 2000s was completely non-interactive by your standards. and if you hate niko that much your a racist. You know, I could do as I usually do and write a paragraph giving every demeaning name I could give to you, but I'll just come out and say it. You're a f*ckhead. Slamman
Interactive painting is what I would use to, no wait.... describe GTA??? Actually, the miniature 3D world I saw the earliest stages of on a Quicktime medical program that allowed the user to rotate a virtual skeleton. Judging from the 1990 time frame, this was not possible in a widespread manner. You're damn lucky to have an interactive canvas like this, and as is being debated still, DLC can easily fill the voids that people are taking issue with. Let's imagine more then just simple missions. The game GTA4 was designed from the city on up, then missions were placed in various locations and tested. If they can build GTA up that way, doesn't it stand to reason that mission additions would be done the same? I am also hoping for mini Game/dates added, with some actual MP for people who are in the same room and multiple controllers, as before in SA. In past games, nothing ever happened in them. Now you come across bums, and "thugs". I always find myself ending up in a brawl in some dark alleyway. Slamman
The first major gang in GTA3, when you turn against the mob get a change of guns, this was the worst aspect of GTA3 in my HO...however, in VC, gangs were changed up favorably, your own gang got better guns and they fought whenever they appeared with other gangs in the same locale. This can happen if you coax some shooting out of peds in GTA4, I've seen police and various Russian mob all taking shots while you run for cover. If you make a shot yourself, the cops all turn attention to you. In a few instances I battled cops and gangsters until I had to leave a scene!
