johnnyk1 Posted August 10, 2008 Share Posted August 10, 2008 I think it is Niko because he is god awful imo i think he is a boring hipocrit and while playing he hardly talks and is never happy also in missions he dosen`t like to kill people but yet while you roam around you can kill as many people as you like with out remorse. i know R* wanted to make this realistic but jeez they should of made Niko cheer the f*ck up. He does get repetitive about needing money, but I suppose if you play badly enough and don't use saves to undo mistakes you could make it so it's true. Rockstar didn't want Niko to become rich like previous GTA characters but they're swimming against the tide with that idea because the nature of GTA gameplay (stealing everything) tends to accumulate wealth. The physics in the game make you feel like you are weighted down my the almighty gravitational pull. Anywho, IMO Niko was a great character, and my favorite. I didn't find him boring at all, but I found him to be one the most beleivable chaarcters in the series. I happened to like San An's Carl Johnson after playing as him for a spell... I had grave doubts about the urban characters, as I am a Burbite... white male, however.... I enjoyed it as well as the others. GTA has a special comic edge that I am finding is still consistant and still provoking laughter as I play. The thing that is boring is the calm public, the AI if left on it's own. You have to inter-mix with it to get things heating up. Nothing amusing happens on it's own, for the most part. I can remember plenty of times where their actions (player actions) would contradict their moral beliefs. Niko is no different. This is what happens when you give the character a personality, and feelings. I thought he was great character. He had a great sense of humour, and an awesome mean streak. IMO he's the most human. Slamman Posted August 11, 2008 Share Posted August 11, 2008 (edited) I like that they bring the question of God and Heaven into the plot line, though Roman and the peds often exclaim the Lord's name in a state of shock.... it echoes what I think is wrong with society, a bit of lack of respect for religions, in particular... Christianity which is sad, because I grew up in a Church going family, and we are all nice people, bottom line. God as we know him is a God of Love, and that's hardly offensive. With respect to the game, there is war as the seed of all conflict, in the character's background... For others in LC, it's drugs to get out of poverty, and the McRearies? Domestic problems of all sorts, but the characters are all discussing it, which in terms of story line is a good avenue, however, it is disposition (Exposition is the word IIRC??) <sp?> at the end of the day.
