Machida
Quote taken from "Mail Online News" . A chocolate bar advertisement featuring Mr T has been taken off the air after accusations that it is ‘homophobic’. In the Snickers commercial, Mr T – who played BA Baracus in the 1980s show The A Team – pulls up in a truck alongside a man exercising in tight yellow shorts and shouts: ‘Speed walking. I pity you fool. You are a disgrace to the man race. It’s time to run like a real man.’ He then forces the man to break into a sprint by taking pot shots at him with a Snickers machine gun. The commercial ends with Mr T uttering the slogan to the current Snickers campaign – ‘Get some nuts’. Is Mr T homophobic, or simply a victim of the pitfalls of fame? Is the advert homophobic? Was it right to pull it off the air? Have I asked too many questions? Do you even like candy bars?.. Edited August 10, 2008 by Machida
MaroonZ28
How the Hell is that Homophobic?!
Runey
What the f*ck, who said it was homophobic? Whoever said this is homophobic should get sh*t for being stereotypical, since just because you act "sissy" doesn't mean one is gay. I for one, laughed. Svip
Can I just say that the advertisement worked? Cause I feel like eating a Snickers now. brb
Vanilla Shake
Not homophobic. At all. And that is the best commercial I've seen all year. Anything with Mr. T is instant win. TC718 / <629 / CF5

Tony Mozzarelli 80
I think that the very suggestion, that it is homophobic, is in itself homophobic
Hayden
Not homophobic, just a stupid ad. Even if it were, Mr. T resides the right to sell himself for advertisement without believing in what he's saying like everybody else. I like Snickers bars. NOM NOM NOM. Machida
I think that the very suggestion, that it is homophobic, is in itself homophobic That's the opinion I share. The advert has been pulled from British television after recieving, 'TWO' whole complaints! I'm guessing both of them were speed runners. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...omosexuals.html

Creed Bratton
That is just weird. I don't see anything homophobic there. It looks like they just invented the accusation like this Asshole 1: I don't like this commercial Asshole 2: Lets make up some random reason to ban it Asshole 1: How about terrorism? Asshole 2: It might work, what do you think Tod? Tod: Lets say it's homophobic Assholes all together: Bravo!!! Wonderful idea...
daviescirca93
I haven't even seen the advert before it got taken off the air It isn't homophobic in the slightest, maybe if the line was 'Get some nuts, you homo.' Then it might be a bit more plausible to be taken off, but the line isn't that so I see no offensive material
jedimario
I think that the phrase "Get some nuts" is what upset the estrogen gobbling, PC homos here. I for one think it's an awesome commercial that unfortunately and unintentionally upset a crowd of people that would get upset and pissy even at a phrase like "I don't like rainbows". Otter
Wow. The continual pussification of the media. That was even less 'homophobic' than the latest Nike ad campaign to be pulled for similar reasons: Seriously, you over-sensitive lobbyists, get a job. D- Ice
I think the assholes in the advertisement political correctness bureau felt the affeminate nature of the speedwalked implied he was gay. If anything, they are the real prejudice homophobes for stereotyping all homosexuals as affeminate, where infact no more are so than straight people. Not everone of us is as ignorant and stereotyping as those assholes, so if anything, the people who pulled that advert of the air should be the ones labeled homophobes and dealt with accordingly. And I feel like some of that caramelly, peanutty and chocolaty goodness of a nice Sneakers Bar now too. I'll try getting one on my way home, but better finish this database of quick before the janitor leaves me to lock up...
