Stefan.
Hello everyone! I'm currently doing some mathematics work on surds, and there's this one question that's really bugging me, which I can't seem to work out. I don't have a scanner, but any help will be appreciated. "A circle has a diameter of root 7. Find the area in exact form."
Justin
Area = pi(radius)^2 Area = pi(0.5[diameter])^2 Area = pi(0.5[root7])^2 Area = 5.497...
SaintJimmy
ok hang on. Square root of 7 = 2.64575131 Area of a circle = Pi times diameter, so, that means, that Area = 8.31187288 I hope thats right, not sure if I remembered correctly.

Justin
Area of a circle = Pi times diameter, That's circumference = pi(diameter).
Exkabewbikadid
Area = pi(0.5[root7])^2 And that's exact form (no decimal approximation).
SaintJimmy
Area of a circle = Pi times diameter, That's circumference = pi(diameter). AH! I had a hunch that I had something wrong. hehe. its all coming back to me now
Icarus
Area = pi(0.5[root7])^2 And that's exact form (no decimal approximation). Of course, it can be simplified just a bit. Basically, you have A = pi(root(7)/2))^2 Expanding the bracket by squaring both the numerator and the denominator, you get A = pi x 7/4. Therefore, A = (7pi)/4.
