Major_Tom
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't newegg only ship to USA Residents? LOL I mean Residents in the US. And shouldn't you wait until we get the official sys requirements first? Planning ahead is good tho don't get me wrong. Let me price some parts.... Edit: Ok, so I've done some quick searching and came up with this... Motherboard,Processor,Memory,Graphics Card and Power Supply... Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 Wolfdale 2.53GHz 3MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail $120 ASUS P5K PRO LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail $105 CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail $ 80 HIS Radeon HD 3870 IceQ3 Video Card - 512MB GDDR4, PCI Express 2.0, CrossFireX Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, HDMI Support, Video Card $ 135 Rosewill RP500-2 ATX12V v2.01 500W Power Supply 115/230 V CSA, UL, TUV, FCC - Retail $45 Total: $485 USD Might have to look at different memory, the CAS is pretty high on the one listed, although its pretty cheep memory. What do ya think? Edited August 10, 2008 by Major_Tom

Democrab
Don't buy ASUS motherboards, anything that is budget from then dies fast. Go Biostar for the motherboard IMO, and get a 45nm (Wolfdale) Core 2 Duo if you can, the one Major_Tom posted is a pretty good system, apart from the ASUS motherboard and RAM, get some cheap DDR2-800 CL4 RAM, at LEAST 2Gb, you don't need 4Gb, but it would be better to get 4Gb. (Go for speed over size though)

(Go for speed over size though) I've never bought anything from ASUS so I wouldn't know about that, (thanks for the tip Joe.) I have however owned a Biostar MB, pretty solid board. (Aside from the Mic jack for the onboard audio) That was just one experience tho. Ok, how about this... BIOSTAR TForce TP43 HP LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard - $100 CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - $57 Yep, thats better. Edit: new total, $457.00 USD, would be even less with discounts/rebates. Edited August 10, 2008 by Major_Tom

The HD 4850 performs alot better than the HD 3870 and the quad cooper makes it run very cool. The total is gonna be $504 which is $4 above budget but that is not much above and the videocard is worth it because it matches close to the GTX 260 and you should be able to play GTA 4 with possibly mods capcomchen
