coin-god
You shouldn't be downloading them anyway, there's a little thing called copyright. Random users post random stuff un-copyrigthed. Downloading that isn't ilegal. And if you can view them in YT why not downlaod them?

Downloading that isn't ilegal. And if you can view them in YT why not downlaod them? True, but there's a difference between viewing and duplicating. Just because some people choose to ignore copyright laws that doesn't warrant you to do the same.
jedimario
Here in the US, no video is "un-copyrited". The act of creating automatically establishes a copyright in the name of the creator.
K^2
Here in the US, no video is "un-copyrited". The act of creating automatically establishes a copyright in the name of the creator. Yeah, but that can easily be overwritten. If you post something on the forum, for example, it becomes property of people who put the forum up. Just look at the TOS. I'm not quite sure what happens with videos on YouTube. Do they go to public domain, by any chance? Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns. ghost of delete key
Maybe everyone is missing the big picture: the url in the OP is not a D/L site, it's a stupid 2nd-rate 3rd-party "fake" search engine displaying top searches of other engines. You always see these associated with warez or pr0n linkz. Prolly there's a secret pixel or a hidden link with a redirect to kiddie porn or a malicious web script or something. Anyway, who cares. If you want YouTube, go to YouTube. As was mentioned, there's a reason the Flash video objects won't allow themselves to be saved through the interface. And coincidentally, I was just yesterday experimenting with "breaking" the system access rights to the cached tempfile Flash holds while playing the clip (for my own personal edification, of course)... the results weren't pretty. I'm lucky to be posting tonight. @ goin-god: Random users post random stuff un-copyrigthed. Downloading that isn't ilegal. Work your brane before you work your jaw: 1. Copyright is always assumed, unless otherwise explicitly stated. This is the basis of the law. 2. Check YouTube's TOS. I'm sure there's a clause in there which declares exclusive rights to any content posted, or at least rights to any content not specifically retained by the OP. I haven't looked at it, as I give not a fig about YouTube in general, but such restriction is almost universally found associated with content hosting and distribution, and would be reasonable to assume in any case. And if you can view them in YT why not downlaod them? ... this is what I read: And if you can watch Family Guy on TV why not download all the episodes for free because Family Guy Season 6 is out on DVD now, and I'm such a self-righteous freeloading punk that I don't care if, much less have I given an iota of thought to whether I take bread and butter off of some animation studio engineer's plate, you know, the one whose kids have expensive braces and is having trouble making the mortgage. You know the one, the guy who has to put gas in his lousy car so he can get to work making free cartoons for carefree sponges. The other end of the stick is the fact that if you simply want to see the vid, you can always go there and do just that. The only reasons to capture the file would be to rework it and/or claim authorship, or to redistribute it. Either way, these both interfere with the benefits preserved by copyright. Many freeserves get their funding to keep them operating from advertiser bidclick schemes. everyone who views the copyright holder's file clicks through to that server, where the traffic is counted, equaling $$. When the file is distributed to unauthorized hosts, it then does not generate traffic for the owner. That's a form of theft. The copyright owner is entitled to that exclusive traffic, and the revenues it generates. And what if the vid I wanna see is no longer posted? Oh well, that's the owner's prerogative. Live with it. edit: I see a flurry of users rushed to wave the TOS around while I fondled my keyboard, as I figured. There you have it. Hayden
Even though it is still illegal, I suppose the only time I'd accept someone downloading them would be like my RE teacher does for educational purposes because the school has locked use of Youtube. Chargr
You could use Real 11, it has the option to download any video from the Web. Too bad there's no support for Firefox 3 yet.
