Xo4
^^^The worst bit is when you see Colonel like an X-ray. Freaky! For some odd reason that image is imprinted in the Back of my mind Doom 3 and Fatal Frame come to mind, seeing as i've never played Silent Hill. When Fox took out all those soldiers got to me, as well.
SaintJimmy
^^^The worst bit is when you see Colonel like an X-ray. Freaky! Yeah, his face was like a skull n sh*t. Lately I've really wanted to play them all again. I used to mainly watch my brother play it when I was younger and I'm starting to want to play it again because I'm sure I'd enjoy it 100x more now that I'm a tad older and would understand the gameplay. I NEED SCISSORS, 61!

Another hilarious line (Well, to me and my brother) was when Snake and the DARPA Chief are talking about Rex, and Snake says "Metal Gear!?" Also, did anyone find it creepy when you found out he blinked?... Although im not sure he blinks on this video.

Typhus
Metal Gear Solid 3. When I was fighting The End I had my sniper rifle out and was searching around for that old bugger. And then I suddenly hear him right behind me. Scared the hell out of me.
Hart
Seeing as we have a new MGS topic... lets talk about other scary games. DOOM was f*cking terrifying when I first played it. Those pig oinks. *shudders*

Those pig oinks. *shudders* I still have doom 1 and 2 on floppy disk somewhere. The thing that really scared the crap out of me was the last level on Wolfenstein 3D, where you finally get to that door and all of a sudden, all you hear is 'GUTEN TARG!' and this big, blond-haired, blue-eyed german with gatling-guns for arms pops out. Took me fkng ages to kill him.
TheFMC
Maybe a title change is in order? New consoles including PC. Edited August 11, 2008 by TheFMC
Hart
Maybe I should possibly ask for a title change . No point, we've got a new MGS topic now. Also I just want people to see this again: When she said "can you take a close up?" I was like "Why God why, why are you doing this to me" I knew something was going to happen. Then as you look around you see him throw a smoke grenade. Which by now I would usually lose him. But I just use the thermal goggles. And track down his foot steps. keithmii2
I haven't really been scared of a game in general in a long time. Games like RE4 were fun to play, but lacked the gore and atmosphere of the previous games. Condemned was a fairly scary game, parts of it had a lot of tension, but most times I got scared because I seen someone in the corner of the screen and looked away only to get that thought of "Oh sh*t" for a second before I faced the problem. Back in the old days(lol) RE scared the sh*t out of me, but there haven't been any good, genuinely scary games in a long time. Tense situations like having to stay in one spot and do something while enemies enclose around you is some scary sh*t. More things like that would stand a chance at scaring me. Wouldn't it be funny as hell if you were watching a video in a game and it just changed into one of those scare screams.

Rick88
Manhunt wasn't scary... I think that Star Wars Battlefront was a scary game then that... Well it was scary for me. Both Manhunt 1 and RE4. But that is only because I have a chainsaw phobia. When I see or hear a chainsaw I loose it. And Pigsy had a f*ckin chainsaw lol man Pigsy scared the living sh*t out of me when I first fought him. That game had its scary moments. But I'll honestly never forget the whole Colonel thing in MGS2, that thing freaked me out big time.
ThaDoggfather
The Silent Hill games are definitely creepy.F.E.A.R. only has short moments of scariness, really. Condemened 2: Bloodshot was very scary. I couldn't play it. I only watched my brother play. IMO Condemned 2 didnt have any scary moments at all. It was mainly an action gamereally. Condemned 1 on the other hand, damn the scariest part of the game right here, the tibbits scene: I absolutely shat myself when that happened. Oh and also when you're walking about and the mannequins appear behind you. (they do it in C2 aswell, but its less scary, seen it before) Once i followed the dude off the train i saw these blue people climbing walls, that just freaked me out completely, now I have to play while some scared watches me, It makes me feel more brave. them blue things are really freaky. brz59
Silent Hill series (except for Silent Hill 4, which sucked and wasn't scary) and Fatal Frame series. Fear and Condemned (second one really wasn't scary) scared me as well, when I played them, but they were rather those cheap jump-scares.

pocho
STALKER with its weird Zone atmosphere, it makes you quite nervous all the time. +very scary at moments. and since it has some sort of "GTA freeroam feel", you people might like it, give it a try if you havent yet
Gouveia
resident evil 3: nemesis (hands down) I remember the first time I played it. I was like 8 years old. That part where you're inside the RPD HQ, you go up a staircase and hear some windows shattering, you go back down and BOOM, Nemesis pops right behind you yelling "STAAAAARS". I used to crap my pants with it. RE4 is nowhere near as scary as the old PS1 Resident Evils.
original gangster
STALKER with its weird Zone atmosphere, it makes you quite nervous all the time. +very scary at moments. Agreed - especially the underground lab parts, where great uses of sound effects and lighting were what really made the atmosphere and tension of them. Trying to clear out the bloodsucker village has to be the most tense part though.
