I couldn't even play Resident Evil or Silent Hill games growing up because they scared the sh*t out of me, hell they still do.

So any of the games in those two franchises get my vote.

Silent Hill 2. That game was scary as f*ck. Too bad the series has gone downhill, the fourth one wasn't the least bit frightening and I don't hold out much hope for the fifth being that good. Silent Hill 2 was the pinnacle of the series IMO.

The Fatal Frame and Siren series are also pretty scary.

I only started playing horror and other scary games last year. I love the feeling they give you. I used to do crazy stuff in real life but I had to stop or I could seriously hurt myself. So you can say that I am a hooked up on adrenaline. It isn't much, but if you play the game alone in the dark it can get pretty tense.

Obscure, Silent Hill and Resident Evil games are pretty cool. I just recently player other RE games. My first one was 4

I hope you're not talking about the new Alone in the Dark. That wasnt scary, and also Resi 4 wasnt meant to be scary. It was a new turn Capcom took, which made it more actioney.

I remember playing the PSX Alone in the Dark demo. And it ended opening a casket with a decapitated head in it. I got scared as hell, lol. That game was pretty scary. But Silent Hill 1 was prolly the scariest and most gritty.

Actually I was thinking literally playing horror games while sitting alone in the dark room.

Anyway, Manhunt 1 was scary as hell. But sometimes it was funny too. Those Smileys were scary and hilarious with their crazy talk

Manhunt wasn't scary... I think that Star Wars Battlefront was a scary game then that...

Well it was scary for me. Both Manhunt 1 and RE4. But that is only because I have a chainsaw phobia. When I see or hear a chainsaw I loose it. And Pigsy had a f*ckin chainsaw cry.gif

Doom 3 (Xbox/PC) has me on edge so much that I no longer want to finish it. I am and always have been sh*t scared of things that make me jump. (No sh*t, that's the point).

And despite the first Resident Evil being quite camp it still had a freaky atmosphere, shame I never played 2 or 3.

@GTAvanja: I know 100% what you mean, I can't stand chainsaws at all, the first time I came across a Dr Salvador in Resi 4 I nearly shat myself...the noise just goes right through me. sad.gif When I'm wielding a chainsaw in a game I love it, but when an NPC has one...gah.

I havent played many games that are really scary. I've played a few games that really scared me, but that could be just for a moment or something. well, I can list up a few games that have had scary moments:

Zelda the wind waker (sounds silly, but I actually got scared there a few times in the end of the game)

half life 1 (the first bit was in that wierd powerthing in the roof exploding being surrounded by aliens. and then when you're trying to get out of the place. I had to redo the first bits like 3 times because I got so scared xD)

half life 2: episode one (wierd nearly invisible headcrabs popping up from nowhere, or a wierd zombie goes up from behind and tries to eat your brain or something)

and some wierd retarded flash games on the net. a good game, pretty funny. but when all 3 lives are gone.. well... no more of that game, please.

The Silent Hill games are definitely creepy.

F.E.A.R. only has short moments of scariness, really.

Condemened 2: Bloodshot was very scary. I couldn't play it. I only watched my brother play.

Algonquin Assassin

I remember back in 97/98, when my brother was playing Resident Evil on PS1. I was so scared I left the room, and jumped into my parent's bed, to hide under the covers. lol

So pathetic. I love the horror genre now though, but I prefer it in movies for some reason.

There was this one time, I remember, on almost every night of the holidays I'd meet my brother in his room and I'd watch him Alien vs. Predator from about 9:30 to 1:00 and we got so scared every night. It was fun biggrin.gif

Until one time, where my brother pussied out as we walked into a lair of facehugger eggs, he was too chicken so he goes 'LOOK HERES THE CONTROLS *explains controls* GTFO OF THE LAIR!'

pussy whipped bastard.

nothing happened though, thank god

There was a game called "Thief" a little while back on the original Xbox I think it was. The only time I remember feeling anything close to fear was on the last level of that.

Not certrain I've got the right game but it think it was Thief.

IMO Condemned 2 didnt have any scary moments at all. confused.gif It was mainly an action gamereally.

Condemned 1 on the other hand, damn the scariest part of the game right here, the tibbits scene:

I absolutely shat myself when that happened.

Oh and also when you're walking about and the mannequins appear behind you. (they do it in C2 aswell, but its less scary, seen it before)
