GTAaddictforever
Spent the time to hunt those pigeons and all that. A few complaints that Rockstar really needs to fix to make a better game. They should include this in the DLC, I'm sure it's not hard to add. 1) Make the website www.whattheydonotwantyoutoknow.com show you the pigeons you have left if you have 5 or fewer pigeons left. Same with Stuntjumps. I missed -1- pigeon because the game froze and I had to restart the console, but I got a real life phone call during the restart and then forgot I didn't get the pigeon. It took me about 3 hours of searching before my brain popped up with "Oh, I never got the one by the..." This was VERY annoying. I googled this problem and a lot of players have this problem. 199 pigeons or something, and not a clue which one is missing. Having to go back through all of it is wrong. ------------ Things that would be hard to add for a DLC...but need to be fixed. 2) Add more in-game hints and clues. It's easy to buy the Guide or go online and read the guide walkthrough's, but what of us players who would rather figure it out for ourselves within the game world? Having to pause to read online or read a guide isn't good. How in the world am I supposed to guess that Eddie Low only appears between 10pm-4am ? Making these type of things only accessible by luck or reading a guide is wrong. I want to be able to stay in the game world and do my own investigating. 3) Please, please replace THE SIMS 'my best good old buddy' system for a criminal system. To achieve 100%, you are forced to take Little Jacob, Packie, and Bruice to ALL of their activities. This is fine, until you realize the activites are bowling, cabaret show, pool, comedy club, romantic dinners, and drinking. This is GRAND THEFT AUTO, not Care Bears : The Game. Replace Cabaret show with Bank Robbery. Replace Comedy Club with SecuriCar armored money truck heist. I'm not even saying you have to REMOVE these other ones. I don't think they belong in GTA IV -AT ALL-, but if you ARE going to keep them, make sure the criminal activities are there first. The friends system can be kept, but make the focus CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES in Liberty City, with the romantic dinners and male bonding second. Or if you can, remove them please. There are a few more, but I'll add them later.

Cabaret, comedy is of course very cool. The first several times. Then, when it's looping, it goes away. Why do this? If we're going to go on 'dates', make sure they are stuff we don't mind doing again and again. Yes, securicar heist, bank robberies fall into this category. Stuff that requires a 'fun factor' that we all bought this game to do mostly - gameplay activities of crime, killing, robbing, mugging, etc.

PhilipO43
I'm only at 60%(60 main missions of the 90), but i'm at 60%+ for both versions. So i put in about 100 hours into both versions, combined. So i put in enough time into IV to make a few comments. 1) The comedy club acts are lame and the acts are even worse then what you would find at 4am on a weekday night in Manhatten. This is where R* needs to hire professional(or close to) comedians to any future DLC's or add'on's. And add variety so it's not the same old thing. Also, have Niko make remarks..maybe even the ability to heckle the act itself? I'd go to the comedy shows each night just to hear Niko heckle the bad acts..lol Make these _interactive_, it's a game afterall. 2) The cabaret is simply boring, and again make this interactive. The acts are so bad, it would make sense if Niko could say varoius things to the acts..maybe with the acts yelling back at Niko as well. Add in Brucie, Packie and the others joing in with Niko, and these boring acts will become a riot. 3) _Bar Brawls_ It's a must. Can you imagine (alpha) Brucie with Niko plastered in any bar going at it with a bunch of npc's or better yet a drukin bar fight? Imagine trying to keep Niko up straight to even land a punch? lol. Add in Jacob, Packie and others to make it even more of a riot, in different ways. 4) Add in more interactivity to a pool game and Bowling, to where you can drink while bowling or bet in a pool game. Make it where if you're playing pool, you can also interact verbally with whoever your playing. Basically make these alot more enjoyable activities. Realism can still be fun, if R* adds some interesting stuff to these activites. IV is a great game, and it's the first in the series, and it has alot of potential even as it is, but R* needs to add in some obvious stuff to make it more fun to do. Fo me, SA went a bit overboard on it's crazyness, and IV is too realistic. Hopefully the right balance of realism and fun can be nailed just right, in the next GTA:IV game(and/or the upcoming DLC's). TheFMC
Ok just incase you didn't know, Downloadable Content can't change things fully, it won't beable to entirely replace something. What does this have to do with the key to the city?
vomica7
i was in a fight with two peds with brucie one time, he was actually kicking some ass. it was in the bowling alley, i pushed some guy when he started to bowl and he got pissed and swinged at me, i strategically placed brucie in the way so that he would get hit and then he just wailed on em. i cried with laughter
Algonquin Assassin
What does this have to do with the key to the city? It doesn't have anything to do with it. It's just a complaint thread, under a misleading name. Why does everyone think DLC will cure what is apparantly wrong with GTA IV? What's going to happen (It's sticking out like dog's balls right now) is when the DLC does come out there will most like be a influx of "Why didn't R* add <Insert> to the DLC?" threads. People are overhyping this DLC like the second coming of Jesus. I'm not trying to shatter everyone's "dream" of a perfect GTA IV, but haven't some of you guys learnt from the first time you were disappointed, with GTA IV? People are overhyping this DLC like the second coming of Jesus. I'm not trying to shatter everyone's "dream" of a perfect GTA IV, but haven't some of you guys learnt from the first time you were disappointed, with GTA IV? When Rockstar does things as well as the physics, animations, cover system and many other core elements as they did in IV. As well as the deepest storyline to date in the GTA series and the best lead character yet, you know they did'nt just forget things they added in the past that are the icing on the cake. This is Rockstar here, the one's who did the over the top, but feature heavy SA. And they put into IV things that nomally they would add in, and made them unusable. I'd be shocked if the first DLC alone, is not feature heavy. Rockstar knows the faults of IV and Violation(Saints Row 2) is making fun of the features in IV, and they are just waiting on the feature set of SR2, to outdo them in that area, as well as all others. It's still a bussiness, and Rockstar had no rush to inclde everything in the original game, as the hype sold the game alone, in crazy numbers. And when you are charging for DLC's, you must have something that the gamer will not think twice about buying. Do not judge GTA:IV just yet, as it's still not finished until the DLC's arrive. Actually before IV was released i had a gut feeling they would leave out a few common GTA things, and it's why the 360 version was the no brainer.(even though i picked up both versions anyway). Those who expected too much, and for IV to be perfect(co'me on SA was also not perfect, and everyone knows this), are simply naive to the way the gaming industry is these days. Imagine how the Maddedn fans feel when they only get a few new features each year, and they ll know EA is always holding back some features for next years version. Bank on it, the 360 DLC's will be feature heavy, and there will be feature heavy universal DLC's(all platforms) as well. I know this makes some cheap gamers angry, but GTA:IV is far from being a complete game as of yet.

Well, ehh, Ricky Gervais and Katt Williams ARE Professional Comedians, they are the real life celebrities in the game. Ricky Gervais is a popular stand up comedian in the UK and Katt Williams is famous around America.

Magic_Al
Totally agree, it should be about crime, crime and more crime. And i f*cking hated hunting for pigeons and hidden packages, it's just a time filler to make the games seem longer I think the reason GTA always has hidden packages (whatever form they take) is to motivate people to go to all the places the story didn't cover and see all the scenery in the game. I suppose if someone decided to do it without a map it would be really satisfying to find them all, but I can't imagine how long that would take. It would be impossible i reckon, like imagine finding some of those pigeons that you can't even see, unless you just happen to throw grenades into all litttle crevaces. But yeah i think i would be much more motivated to go to these different areas if they added random activities and games all over the place. I'd be walking around everywhere, knowing that i'd soon come across something interesting
cimt
I reckon the DLC will include quite a few new features. With this game, I think they released it to see what worked with the new engines and graphics. Since they now know, they'll be able to add like a small airplane (like the one in VCS with the guns on it at the airport) even if you can't really take it anywhere. It'll add some fun to it. Tony Mozzarelli 80
I honestly don't see them adding in planes. I agree they would be fun, but they said they feel the map is too small and there's no room to use them. So to add them in now would be to admit they were wrong. That ain't gonna happen
Cr4z3y
to OP: Nice idea but i'd rather other features added in.
