Crokey
I remember him mostly from Ocean's 11, 12 and 13 and that movie with Ashton Kucher. R.I.P. It's a pain in the cock how unfair life can be isn't it. He didn't look 50, but he was a good comedian and a promising actor (he was giving up the comedy scene for acting) RIP

Digital Murders
Damn, this sucks..What is up with all the "famous" people dying lately ? People die. This concept has been around since the dawn of man. Not really a fan of Bernie Mac and I never really understood why he was one of the "Kings of comedy". I liked him in Bad Santa and Transformers, but that's about it. Shocking loss none the less.

Saggy
You're one of the greatest gifts that God has ever given us fans of comedy. Not to disrespect Bernie Mac at all, but give me a f*cking break. A guy dies, and all the sudden he's generally accepted as being 10x funnier and more talented than previously perceived. What is up with this? I guess it's that old familiar someone-dies-and-gets-famous dynamic... Though I never would have thought it'd occur with Bernie Mac. I mean, I have no problem with Bernie Mac at all, he was in a lot of movies I liked, but if I start hearing his name uttered alongside John Belushi, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, Rodney Dangerfield, Chris Farley, Mitch Hedburg, or any of the true Late Kings of Comedy I forgot, I'm going to have to immediately take everyone of you for some kind of tasteless ingrate. I don't really feel comfortable making this post, but I feel even less comfortable with people suddenly acting as if this man a highly favored actor or comedian to them just because he died. This time last month the majority of people would say, "Oh, Bernie Mac, he was in that Kings of Comedy show right?" I honestly think that treating a man differently just because he's dead is more disrespectful than me saying this, so I'll live with it. Anyway, R.I.P to Bernie QUOTE (K^2) ...not only is it legal for you to go around with a concealed penis, it requires absolutely no registration! Jay
No Ocean's 14 then I'll be brutally honest - I couldn't give two sh*ts about someone, somewhere, dying. Just because I could barely put a face to a name means I should care?

I guess it's that old familiar someone-dies-and-gets-famous dynamic... Though I never would have thought it'd occur with Bernie Mac. Just so you know, I have always been a fan of Bernie and although I know he's not "Teh funnest man alive!" I know that he was a great comedian, a great man, and a great actor. Have you even stopped to think about what funny is? Funny is not something that is exactly the same everywhere you go. You may think Jim Belushi, George Carlin, and Richard Pryor and whatever and whatever but someone else may find Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and Bernie as those people. Nobody can determine what is funny for everyone, and to debate who is the funniest is stupid. Anyway this is a topic about Bernie. There was a topic about Chris Farley, Jim Belushi, Richard Pryor, and George Carlin......so what's the problem?

makeshyft
Anyway this is a topic about Bernie. There was a topic about Chris Farley, Jim Belushi, Richard Pryor, and George Carlin......so what's the problem? I'm a cock gobbler and I love to gobble cock. Interesting, considering Jim Belushi is still alive (Sag mentioned John Belushi, who died in 1982), and Chris Farley died before these forums even existed. If you're going to try and make a point, don't talk out of your uninformed ass. Find me the topic on either Jim Belushi, John Belushi or Chris Farley, and I'll admit my mistake. And yeah, nobody likes it when an entertainer passes, but to say he is a comedy legend is just an over-reach. I will say rest in peace, and I will offer my condolences to the family, but what I will not do is offer some knee-jerk, "legend, great man, saved a village full of orphans from disease" reaction. Alick
I agree completely with Sag here, especially on the point of Bernie ever being lumped with people such as John Belushi (The Blues Brothers anyone?). He was funny and a good actor, but not as great as some people in here make out. I understand it being a mark of respect and all, but he was hardly a 'legend'. But nontheless, rest in peace, as 50 is still very young to go.
