lurchseesu420
Yeah, really coming together nicely now. That is one really pimp header header on there, too. Fixed for the BB Code being back up. Edited October 20, 2008 by lurchseesu420
-slash
http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa124/jasek7/P1000172.jpg That had to be nice to see! Hehe yeah bloody oath! Thanks for posting up all the pics with bbcode lurch. Well I don't have any progress pics, but I've been working until late hours since Saturday now, and it's been hard by myself but I've made good progress. Dash is now wired up to the engine loom, just have to fix one plug on the headlight loom and my wiring is done. The engine loom is connected, just have to get a few bolts and bits and pieces to tie a few things down, then I'll clean the loom up with a few cable ties. All that's left to do otherwise is fit a new fuel line (return line was a bit short for the SR) which I'll get tomorrow, make up a short oil return for the turbo, (like 100mm) bolt up the exhaust and bolt the tailshaft to the diff. Also have to run some battery cable to the boot and buy a battery box. Cooler piping has got in the way of the battery and I won't get away with using a small one turned sideways like usual, so I'll just buy a big one and put it in the back. But then that's it. All fairly straightforward!

Picolini
Definitely. Especially seeing as he's doing it by himself for the most part (right?). What kind of power are you planning on getting out of this? A bit over 250hp or more? The more the merrier I say!
-slash
Definitely. Especially seeing as he's doing it by himself for the most part (right?). Hehe, that would be correct! Gets a bit lonely though. Anyway better stop posting and head out and get some sh*t done, getting very close!
-slash
Well, started her up today! No exhaust at all (straight out the back of the turbo lawl) which meant no oxy sensor, but it drives forwards, drives backwards, everything turns on that's meant to so I can't complain. Will post completed pics tomorrow when I take it for a drive and start bedding that new clutch in.
Picolini
Congrats on the first start up, glad it went well! I dunno about you, but if I were swapping a engine I would have definitely recorded the first start up! But, I guess pics will have to do. Can't wait to see them. Picolini
Yeah, not that big of a deal, the important part is it friggin started. I bet it was a heart stopping moment right as you cranked it huh?
-slash
Sure was. Haha to be completely honest the very first time I turned it over it didn't start, then we realised I hadn't plugged the ECU in. So when I say it started first go, I mean, it started first go once I stopped been a tard. Yay. Just took it for a drive. Low boost until the clutch is bedded in then fun times ahead. Especially happy with the diff, no clunks or rattle. Yay. So very happy to have it done.

-beeblebrox-
Being a lover of cars, but also the least technical person ever, I just think that shade of red on the engine is purdy What kind of other cosmetic stuff (i.e. changes that I would understand) are you planning on making in the near future? Keep us updated anyway, this is a good read

So when I say it started first go, I mean, it started first go once I stopped been a tard. Heh, same thing happened to me, I had just soldered on a new ECU chip for my mx3, didn't start, I started freaking out thinking that I just ruined my new ECU that I just bought 2 hours ago, then I saw it just sitting there on the passenger seat. I love S13's too, I was actually really close to buying a 240sx with front end damage and installing a silvia front end because I just love the look of them, sadly it was already sold by the time I got the chance to pick it up. Define wrong? Is it something like super strict driving laws or do they not care if you are doing 100kph down the road when you should be doing 50kph as lon as you are driving safe. -slash
Well basically if you obviously break the law they'll stop you. Over on the mainland though, all the guys from the forums I frequent complain about police harassment, getting defected out the arse, etc. Things like pod filters, aftermarket steering wheels, blow off valves, front mount intercoolers, lowest point on the car below 100mm, fibreglass guards, roll cages, wheels too big, tint too dark, etc etc are all things they regularly get busted for. It's so bad that a lot of them avoid certain areas or don't drive their modified cars at all. Down here we just don't get that. I've never found I've been treated any differently to other drivers, I've been booked for doing 110 in an 80 zone, got completely let off for doing 100 in an 80 zone, and got a warning for parking in a restricted area after 11pm. I wouldn't last 20 minutes if I took my car to Melbourne or Sydney. It's too low and too loud just to start out. So in short: speed, run a red, drive dangerously, or do skids and you get booked. Otherwise you're pretty alright.

Big rims, dark tint, loud-ass and obnoxious BOVs, and super loud exhaust are overrated. Nothing like blowing away a 500hp "look at me" tuner car in what looks like a stock car.
