I have heard that the facial pixelshading system from Maxpayne 2 is close to gta4's.

 

Playing with Max payne's head would be funny

- More telephone numbers to call, like all numbers you see and hear in game most be connected to something (a missed chance I think, would be fun to hear someone on the other end of the phone with some funny dialogue)

 

- More random events, like accidents (pets wait for police and/or ambulance to arrive), Roadworks (on random places for some time and them move to a other location), building fires (where fire trucks respond to and police close off the streets), Demonstrations (mmm routekills!). More stuff like this to make the city more alive (but I think its hard or impossible to mod this, maybe for a next GTA) Ow and LCPD surges drills would also be funny to see (like NYPD surge drills)

 

- At the Police side missions, a function to were a police uniform and be one of the Police force (aka no want level if you kill someone). A function to call for backup would also be nice (I am waiting for a call for backup function for long time now, Can you imagen the big police chases were you are for once not the suspect but one of the police officers chasing... )

 

- Cruise control, a function to hold your current speed, no more tapping your forward key to drive slow. So its easier to-do drive-bys. One of the good Saint's Row 2 functions I can imagen in GTA:IV.

 

 

- More side missions, like delivery jobs, escort jobs, phone booth missions, ... (like the old times)

- More property to buy, with some missions to unlock money making functions (GTA:VS Styl)

- More things to do with your money

- CAMHack, New Cars and other stuff we like to do with our current GTA games.

They still have those (called Assassin Missions). Although other than that, pretty sweet ideas.

 

Maybe that dominoes game those guys are playing in the load screen artwork of GTA IV; scatter them around areas of Bohan and North Holland (make them playable aswell).

A zombie-mod would be cool.

that would be cool. All the pedestrians are zombies and you have to fend off the zombie horde pouring out of the alleys. Also make the cops friendly so they are on your side then when they get bit they turn as well, lol. It would make for a fun co-op play.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up.

Maybe they will have their own dedicated server that will allow for mods, and new modes created by them; if SA-MP and the older MTAs are anything to go by, we're in for a good time.

First mods I'm going to make:

 

first person view

realistic vehicle damage (cars do NOT crush enough in default GTA4)

Are you serious? Dude, the reason they took that sensetive car damage crap out was because it got annoying very quick. I even talked to some R* employees in San Diego (family members that work there) to try to influence the programmers to cut the sensetivity. "scrape the car, and the bumper falls off and the door gets deformed"

 

still, if crashing about makes you happy, than whatever. just hope they keep it out in future gta titles...

Look up the bajillilion Oblivion nudity mods, then look at what the game is rated. Want to know why that game isn't AO?

 

The ESRB only rates on content the devs personally coded into the game (viewable or not). Nothing bad will happen unless Rockstar does it themselves.

Couldn't disagree more. If you aren't constantly smashing into things it won't get annoying, and when you do happen to hit something it would be nice to see more realistic effects. In GTAIV right now, a full speed head on collision with a wall barely crumples the front of the car more than about a foot or so. In real life the car would probably be about a foot long lol. And if you don't like that, then there's no one forcing you to install the mod wink.gif

I'm sure the consoles player that play GTA4 has been stabbed by some ped or enemy. On reality, we will bleeding and if we don't go ASAP to hospital we'll dead, right? How about in GTA4 after we have been stabbed, then Niko will lose his blood continously, then die.

And could anyone edit the Aston Martin car to have weapons and rockets like 007 cars!? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!

to me it looks like IV is too easy as niko can take many hits by enemies that can barely hit broad side of a bus standing on a barn with a zeppelin on top of it.

it looks like niko can survive 10 cops all surrounding him and firing at once.

 

i would want a mod that will make the game more difficult in its shoot outs.

a mod that will make weapons more deadly towards niko and maybe make them have a harsher recoil.

 

it should be a very simple mod, if the game files are no annoyingly compressed.

 

what do u think? does this game needs a simple mod like that? anyone else thinks like me?

Yes, but this mod will have to wait for SCM coding to find it's way on IV.

Yes, but this mod will have to wait for SCM coding to find it's way on IV.

in assassins creed i used ARTMONEY tool to limit my health from 15 to 3 so i can have some challenge. AS was pisseasy and need that mod. it changed the game greatly to me forcing my to be stealthy and actually avoid some fightings. it did only good for the game IMO.

 

even if IV will require an external tool like that i would love to use it. i hate games that let me breeze through them, and im not THAT great of a gamer.

Don't worry about difficulty level, you will need to use the cover system or you will die.

 

SCM coding is the alteration of the game script itself, in essence altering missions, health, armour, clothing and shedloads more of data direct from the gamesmain SCM.

SCM is a script which defines everything that goes on in the game - from missions to turf wars (in SA). This is the most interesting aspect of moding in GTA for me as it's programming based. Basically, when you write your code and compile it you get an SCM file which replaces the original one and gives you the chance to see your stuff in game.

 

I don't recall characters health was set in any ini files before. It usually had some default value (like a 100) and you could set it to a necessary value with an opcode in the script. But it would be easier to make as a mem hack (it would be a inverse of a trainer whit which you could set infinite health).

im sure there will be trainers for IV.

do u think that reversing it to reduce niko's health will be an easy enough task so someone can do it quickly and provide such a mod\reverse-trainer?

 

i know nothing about mods (all i have ever done was editing texts in STALKER to change weapons behaviors. nothing more) so i have no idea how to make mem-hacks or anything of that sort.

Like I said, thing you're looking for is basically a reversed trainer. Trainer will find a memory address where the player's health is stored and will keep it on max level whenever it's changed. In this case, let's say you want to keep max health on 300 points. Then you need a trainer which will check the value continuously. If it's trying to go above (i.e. you picked up some health packs) that level it will reduce it to 300 and let it drop normally in other cases.

 

This should be fairly easy to do. It would be great if the functionality could be expanded so you could star with those max 300 points, but that would increase as you get better/stronger so you would end up with 1500 points after some time (for example, depending on distance traveled on foot).
