It is a respectable position imo.

Algonquin fought very hard in each match and did much better than the previous 1st Cup team.

Yesterday in the finals they really gave us a hard time fighting the first match 6 vs 7 for most of the time.

The match was in Dukes and surprisingly there were only 3 turfs on the map. Algonquin has been leading during 3/4 of the match.

They eventually lost but to tell u the truth we lived moments of panic against these ruthless Assassins.

Like Dukes, also Algonquin had some connection issues and shortage of players in the last matches.

I really think that all of Algonquin Assassins have to be proud of what they have done in this Cup.

Not an easy place to fight Algonquin... for both the home team and the away team...

Anyway the fight is not over... The Super Cup Revenge DTW showtime is coming soon!

So get back your PS3 and get ready to assassinate again!

Organisation was our downfall, its quite difficult to organise when you dont know who is going to get in, finally i play a game with Dukus and long last.

 

Enjoyed the games last night tho, especially in ALgonquin, although we got hammered it boosted my morale hearing Byron singing Dont worry about a thing (Bob Marley) down the mic while occasionally saying were f*cked lol.

TBH, a bit of planning was involved, but just a basic plan and teams.

Well, when Twind told me to stay in home turf with Banana what was that? Strategy I guess.

Joe, goin in teams it's what all of the teams did in this cup. When I say strategy I say teams, or squads if u prefer and a rough plan about the turfs.

Nothing more. The rest is flexibility and in game reading. When u never have a full team (like Dukes in this cup) the only thing u can do to avoid being slaughtered is to have at least a basic plan. We would have never won 6 out of 9 matches without that basic plan. And we had to change the plan each sunday due to players not being available and stuff like that. We used a plan for our core players and always sent the HGs available on the loose with no plan, cause really to block 3 turfs u don't need more than 5 people.

BTW, I don't like to repeat stuff but we were the only team that beated the Alderney full team playing 7 vs 8. And we managed that win with a plan, a really basic one. On top of that we had to change it minutes before the game start cause toot was a no show (sick at home) and tjb could only join 12m to the end. So we gained and blocked 2 turfs using just 2 players + the rest 3/4 roaming around where they were needed. Strategy does work when it's not too strict and when it's effective. Do u really think that an army without a plan could ever win any war? Power it's not enough. Tactical guerrilla can stop any great and powerful army.

In Algonquin, yesterday night, we had a plan too based on what we learnt in our first match against them in that same set of turfs. And we won. We wouldn't without clear objectives.

So, as rnz said, Alderney had a basic plan and teams, and that's tactics and strategy imo, u can call it as u want but for sure it's not like u said:

U won the cup cause u had a strong team made of talented TW veterans that knew already their home battlefield and that ihave been playing together in more matches than any other team. The other teams had to start from zero in everything and had to adjust to situations, playing styles and maps. It's not easy to build a team from zero with different players that sometimes didn't even played together once.

I'm not saying that the cup was easier for u because u were already champions; on the contrary I think that this time it was much harder for u to reach the finals and win the cup for the second time cause the teams were much more balanced, but u can't deny that experience does count in this competition.

U'll see how the SUPER CUP will be different...

 

BTW my suggestion to u is not to be an HG in the third Cup. Why? Because u should try to see what u can do in a new team built from zero and because even as an HG u will be hassled to play basically every match (cause u r good ) or someone will try to permanently hire u making u basically a team member.

Alderney did have a basic plan for most of the matches. I think the matches against Dukes/Broker and Bohan we didn't plan all that much, especially against Dukes/Broker and we were suprised at the outcome.

 

Our plan was basic, but as mentioned. That's all we needed, a plan of entry into the game. The rest was decided on mic as we respawned and attacked turfs.

 

I think we seen every team use a squad system at least once in this DTW Cup.

I agree with BowZa. In game communication it's very important and it was something we had not in Dukes. We especially needed that in a couple of matches.

1) it's really a pain in the ass to calculate those standings and I've already got a lot of stuff to do

Wise decision not to put the stats in some form of order, I remember last time.

 

LOL, looks like Bohan followed by Dukes/Broker were the worst for killing their team members (not including use of HG's).
