Ram it onto the shore and watch the lag. notify.gif

Or go into MP, and grab as many as you can, then ram them onto the shore simultaneously. (be prepared to start a new game)

Pretty crap boat. It would of been better if the room was open for other people to sit down and stuff.

It is pretty pointless. In MP we all get on it and creep out to shore, then fist fight to the last person.

Like mentioned I wish it had more seats and stuff. And yes, its great to stand off against cops.

  • 3 months later...

Another sidemission which could of been included to make this more useful... where you have to bring in ships from port and take them out... ships like oil tankers and container ships (GTA SA is a good example with those ships). sad.gif

Hehe, that made me laugh.

In singleplayer I don't really have any good ideas. Multiplayer is where it really comes in handy. My ideas:

Standoff with cops - In SP or MP, the Tug is a great place to stand off against cops. It can take a helluva lot of damage and even when destroyed it usually doesn't sink (as I have noticed), but rather just floats as a "dead" vehicle. In MP you and friends can stack up some ammo, escape to the Tug, and run sea-to-shore broadsides or head out to sea and take on helicopters.

Pirates! - Though this usually turns out to be one-sided, I have played games in Free Mode where a small group would take a Tug out to sea and try to defend themselves against a smaller boat that intercepts them. This works best if the deal is knives or baseball bats only, so the smaller boat(s) docks with the Tug, the people climb up, and they begin the dastardly "swordfighting" to see who will walk the plank! Also, two Tugs can be used to do this, and in this case other weaponry may be used if wanted.

Air Force vs. Navy - This is a game I played only once but I played from 10PM to 3AM. That fun and addicting. The basic idea is that the majority of players stock up on AA ammo (sniper, RPG, assault rifles), then take a Tug out to sea and wait. A minority of players will take Annihilators and attempt to eliminate the Tug and its defenders. In the server I played, which was about full, only 2-4 Annihilator pilots were needed, and I acted as the "carrier," a Maverick who picked up dead Tug players and transported them back to the Tug when they had ammo. This game is huge amounts of fun and gets really exciting when you have good pilots, good defenders, and all of them dying. It was endless excitement to see an Annihilator crash in the ocean and the pilot surface and swim towards the Tug for safety, all while the defenders were attempting to nail/capture him. Because the Tug is so strong and stays afloat almost always, this doesn't end quickly. Hint: The fastest way to kill the Tug is to run into its mast with your rotors and capsize it! The defenders can crawl on top of the ship but in general they are screwed.

Hope that gives you some ideas!

is it destroyable at all? I never managed to destroy it.

It is, but it never really smokes or explodes, but rather sits there, useless. It takes quite a bit of ammo (or 2-3 rockets) to end it. Most people thought it was invincible but it actually does sink sometimes.

Infinite Monkey
Where does the Tug spawn?

Just north of the prison.

Coincidentally I've just been using it to block a shipping lane for an Algonquin Assassins hit. Came in bloody handy...

yeah just found it... I got in it and was on my way to leave the harbor, when two guys just came and wanted in (we had trouble to get into the Tug, so used another boat to climb on), then we was gone for a little sigtseeing tour where i steered halfway and one of the other guys did the last halfway (ended on Happiness Island where we took a speedboat to Algonquin) Really nice trip
