omega5002
Well as you see on my signature, I got a new computer and it's awesome and when I installed GTA SA, on my HD 4850 , I get 70 to 120 fps and 120 to 140 fps inside buildings and I was amazed but the thing is when I drive , the inertia has no effect so I accelerate faster and when I get on the Clover the back starts shaking a little and I swim a lot slower. I also can't turn on the siren. Is this normal when I have high fps? Sorry I'm just wondering because I went from a crappy 5200 fx to an HD 4850, so that's a big difference. Yatesyz
Yeah with the frame limiter off I swim a lot slower and you have to press the button really fast to turn the siren off. It's because the FPS is so high. That's why I prefer the PS2 version.
omega5002
Well, I do have the ps2 version too and the frame rates are perfect, not too high, no too low. But the frame limiter put it to 25 fps and that kind of hurts my eye, maybe I might get the frame limiter patch which limits the frame to 40 instead of 25. gtamodder
Yeah, on my PC with a Quad Core, 3gbs and a Nvidia 8800 GTX, I can get about 100-127fps at @ 1680 x 1050 with 3 x AA, and about 120-130fps in the Badlands. but the thing is when I drive , the inertia has no effect so I accelerate faster and when I get on the Clover the back starts shaking a little and I swim a lot slower I get that too with it off, not when I turn it on, I remember I used the frame limiter patch and I get about 40fps every where with the FL on, but with it off I get this problem a lot. omega5002
Well a Quad core is very useful for running many programs but GTA SA doesn't utilize all cores like the new games for higher fps and more advanced AI because it is an older game. Yeah I wonder why those problems happen but maybe rockstar expected people to play with the frame limiter on and worked their animations to work well on 25 to 40 fps and when the frames are too high like over 100fps, animations don't work properly. Maybe the Quad core helps and you have an OCed version of the 8800 gtx which is a card with similar performance to the HD 4850 and maybe GTA SA works better with Nvidia cards( explains the Nvidia logo) because your lowest frame rate was 100 and mine was 70 but the performance is still amazing compared to my old pc. gtamodder
Yes, the HD 4850, is more powerful then a GTX I think, but I think if you overclock the GTX, you may get similar peformance. I do think GTA SA works better with Nvidia, as I have a HD 3870 (Same peformance as 9600 GT), In my older PC, And I only get 45-60fps, but with my 8800 GT in one PC, I get 70-80 (only a tad faster then HD 3870).
