Vice City and Vice City Stories both had one airport and planes...GTAIII had them but the wings were taken off after 9/11. R* said they took planes out because it's only one city and i'm sure that played a part! But you can't deny that the thought of 9/11 videos never crossed their minds...and what would they say? We have a game where you can kill people in many ways but we don't want a plane crash to be a part of that voilence? That would have gone over REAL well... My best mate is from California and he is one of the most rational, humourous and anti-war people I've met. Don't judge a people by there leaders. That goes for Iraq too. The problem is that probably up to Vietnam the world respected the US for its ideals of democracy and fairness as well as its achievements... sure they f*cked up a few times but ALL nations do. Since then though we have unjust (and illegal) invasions of several countries ( I believe over 20 countries have been invaded since Vietnam) as well as more underhand (CIA backed) attempts to topple any foreign government that doesn't 'play ball'. This is why the US GOVERNMENT is the most hated in the world and it's a shame as it could have been a real force for good. It doesn't help that the president is a muppet either. 911 was a terrible tragedy. It was not acceptable but (and forgive me) It was not entirely surprising. There were NO links between 911 and Iraq nor has there been any proof of WMD found since the invasion. A lot of US companies have become very rich though and that US oil problem is a little less worrying. As a down side a lot of American, British (and other allies) and Iraqis are now dead for that cause. And that was/is the cause. Not 'liberation', not 'freedom', not 'war on terror' but greed, pure and simple. That tends not to make a county popular. Look at the British Empire. Is this true? you can still do that with helicopters, has anyone tried a terrorist attack on the bridges with grenades, good fun... i cant believe a fellow american finds terrorism fun So what you're saying is that it's ok for us to kill the same amount of npc's in GTA as people who died during 9/11 as long as we don't do it with a plane. Have you ever crashed a plane into a building in any game in the GTA series. When this happens, no one in the buildings die. Because there is no one in the damn buildings. So before you get all upset over 9/11 reinactments in a video game, maybe should think about all of those families that lost a loved one during a carjacking, shootout, hold up, hit and run, and all of the other ways npc's die in GTA.
