Breaking Bohan
I was bored the other day and I thought of "Craplist" - which was quite entertaining in GTAIV if I may say, so I decided why not check out the real thing. After pulling up Craigslist, I was quickly disappointed ... the people are f*ckin crazier than they are here and the forum itself is very poor compared to this place (kudos to whoever designs/operates this place). Anyways, has the game "prompted" you to do anything in real life? If so, did you find out that GTA's parody was better than the real thing? Picolini
Who goes to craigslist regularly as a forum? As far as I know it's mainly to sell things and try and hook up with some one to f*ck for the night. Of course it'll be sh*t people to talk to. I assumed you could get all kinds of crap there - whores/property/used cars, etc.... I'm just saying it was an example of where GTA motivated/pushed me to do something I wouldn't otherwise do. Struff Bunstridge
What kind of replies are you expecting? "Normally I wouldn't do anything like this, but after playing GTA, I shot a cop in the face, stole his motorbike, took a massive jump off a ramp and over a busy road, then when I landed, someone gave me $34. It's just so unlike me!" Seems like this isn't really worth a whole topic...

ghost of delete key
Who goes to craigslist regularly as a forum? As far as I know it's mainly to sell things and try and hook up with some one to f*ck for the night. Of course it'll be sh*t people to talk to. Don't knock Craigslist, mang! It's a very useful tool as long as you understand that it's not a chatroom or messenger thingy. You aren't gonna hookup with the jailbait ho' / Federal agent that you wished for like in MySpace, and you won't see anything funny or captivating like on YouTube. But if you live out in the sticks like me, and you need a LOCAL job, because 10 miles on a bicycle sucks in any language, then Craigslist is indispensible. You'll see stuff in there that NEVER makes it into a classified ad, no matter how Metro or Local. Maybe you need a steering wheel for your '56 Biscayne restoration... you'd likely find someone with one not too far away, or at least find one, period. I've found jobs just down the street, right under my nose, when there's crap-all listed in the local papers. One listing I answered was for a "local band, 2-3 nights a week" as a sound engineer, which I used to do regularly. A resume and an email later I discovered that the band was Overkill, and kicked myself in the ass for having committed to another fulltime bench job. But the good stuff is out there, disguised as plaintext. And yes, you can find all the hookup stuff there too, just in classified format. No hot chat. You can find just about anything in the listings, and it's all way too easy to navigate. It's like the friggin' Google of gigs. Buy a Philly paper, and you'll wind up looking for work 75 miles away, or wait 4 months for something to appear close. Craigslist is free. Nobody chases you from the newsstand if you don't buy a copy. Reincarnated
craigslist is really the best for buying/selling stuff. I've bought quite a few things from there.
Moonshield
godk is right. I was homeless/couch surfing for 2 weeks when I moved to seattle, and craigslist was invaluable for helping me find a place to live. Maybe in a few years when you actually experience the world, you'll appreciate stuff like this more.
Machida
Im a typical old fashioned Scot. Internet forums are a completely new concept to me. Yet having been here just a few days I completely get IV's in game parodies of the internet. I looked at 'Electrotit' before I had even seen Youtube... It's all the same! You could post a video of a wheel on youtube and someone would shout fake. Amuses me to no end. Edited May 29, 2009 by Machida
