I would probably enjoy it too if it weren't for my crippling fear of falling off stuff

Ahh, you don't have to climb stuff to do parkour.

Most of it is overcoming objects in your way, with many different vaults.

I love watching videos of it, and I used to do stuff like it when I was thin, but no way I could do it now.

Picolini is now Pico

TBH I'd love to do it, Im quite an agile person but I find it hard to force myself to do things. Such as just leaping over a fence with out putting my feet on it when im used to doing it a different way.

Yeah I understand.

You must commit on most of the stuff, otherwise you may bail out and injure yourself.

My most daring was vaulting a fence that had a drop-off of about 15 ft., and holding onto the top of the fence in such a way as to bring my feet down and land on the edge of drop-off ground, then in the same bounce, jump back over the fence. That is pretty exciting. Other than that, I can vault picnic tables, and can even dive over small obstacle and land in a front handspring.

Can you dash vault?

I used to do this when I was a teenager and only weighed about 160lbs. But that was 12 years ago and I don't even know if it had a name back then. It was more like "Jump over sh*t and hope you don't get f*cked in the process".

At my school, there's a rail at the line for lunch that I like to vault over each day. Just a simple lean-on-your-arm-and-swing-your-legs-over-sideways, but it's fun. Too bad there aren't many railings/low walls in my town. whatsthat.gif

I find it pretty cool. You have to obviously be fast, quick thinker, and athlete.

Check out this video I had stored in my YouTube account a long time ago.

Nice...

Yeah, I've done parkour for little over a year if not a year now. Yes I can dash vault, it's literally one of the easiest and smoothest vaults there is.

Unless you're really good at it, you just look like a retarded child jumping around on sh*t.

But the guys who have mastered it are really fun to watch. Hell they put the dude on Casino Royale.

This is indeed true.

Only big names like David Belle or Sebastien Foucan are worth anything. Teams like 3run are also very good, but yes, little kids jumping over public benches and stuff is really just stupid.

But anyway, i used to be really into freerunning, not parkour per se. I did it for years. I used to jump over stuff and off of high things to get to places, but then i learned how retarded it was even if people did think it was cool. I really enjoyed suburban parkour though (that was the only time i did parkour and not freerunning). Big forests have great enviroment for that kind of stuff. Seriously felt good.

So anyway, i switched to tricking (martial arts tricking).

I'm not sure what the freerunning clip is doing there at the end, but it has nothing to do with tricking.

That looks like it would hurt a lot if you f*cked that up

Not exactly. I can't do backflips and sh*t, but at uni we used to run around campus on the roofs (rooves?) of buildings, and generally climb, jump, and fart our way around places we had no right to be. 'twas fun, I'd like to get more involved in the really athletic side of things, but that'd involve getting out more.

I love Parkour - nothing beats that rush.

I can Monkey vault, Dash vault, I'm a pretty nimble climber, And i'm awesome at 2-footed jumps.

All my mates used to be really into it, but now they're all stoners and they've lost all fitness. I'm the only remaining member of the crew.

It's a pity.

Right now I am struggling on the diving kong vault. I always go head first into the pavement. confused.gif

If you find it hard to force yourself, then you're not agile.

It'll tkae a bit of work, but soon I reckon It will look more smooth and flowing.

My friend does it...for fun, really.

He showed me a cool little, i dunno how you'd say it, parkour 'track' that was really, really cool.

We started out just vaulting over sh*t and eventually we jumped down on this brick fence (which i did a few times so i could end up doing it smoothly without stalling before jumping tounge.gif) and we were running along it, which like, we ran to the end, kicked off the end wall and climbed up onto this rooftop. then he convinced me to jump a rooftop gap (which wasnt that big but was creepy) and i did it.

we ended up doing the whole thing again so we could do it smoothly smile.gif

its a sweet feeling doing such a cool trail like that.

SJT, You do know that the second part of the topic title (description) doesn't need anything, right? It's funny seeing the period there, I'm just letting you know though, lol. icon14.gif

Anyways, i never knew there was a name for those kind of things. I can't parkour, but i can jump pretty high over fences and have alright reflexes.

Is Jackie Chan consider 'Parkour'?
