johnnyk1 Posted July 18, 2008 Share Posted July 18, 2008 what were R* thinking when they put the theam park or ATM in the game? could they of been used instead of just being there? and not forgetting the ingame internet. phone numbers all over the city not useable. T.V that advitises swords and gives you a number to cal but.......again nothing. whats the point in putting them in if they just dont work or are pretty much useless is there anything else you can think of that is useless in this game. and yes fanboys i am usless not them,i`ve heard it all before. Well they put them in there so the game would be more realistic. And useless things in the game are. 911 fire emergancy service. People running in the street on fire, cars exploding. Fire man Wheres the fire? Damn prank callers The subway train. "Use a taxi" Romans Taxi. SJT Posted July 18, 2008 Share Posted July 18, 2008 The fire hose dosn't even work on burning cars etc, go try it, I may be wrong, but the cars never get put out, till they burn out about a miniute after i've tried. They flesh out the 'world' and make Liberty a more realistic environment. For that reason alone they are not useless as they serve a purpose. But yes, I phoned the fire dept when Romans place was burning to the ground and they did nothing... but actually I think that's quite funny... the fact that they are incompetent. In that mission (on the third Island) where you have to drive or jack a prison truck or something, I can't remember fully. I imagine Brucie would play golf cos it's a high-rollin' thing to do. • Star Junction. Can you think of anything to do there besides the stunt jumps? Pretty yes. Pretty useless. • 60 Diner (not 69th St. Diner). Why not just use the same interiors so I can get a lousy hamburger? That said, I think there's a lot of locations, but not a lot of variety in activities, which is probably what inspired this thread and others like it. Especially with 5-6 friends to maintain, bowling and darts get old fast. Firefly Island is probably the biggest loss, since it could have offered an array of activities. Rockstar could have done something really creative and fun with this prison, but they did'nt. Something like the side mission in GTA-LCS would've been interesting. Imagine having prisoner after prisoner coming after you while you defend yourself, beating them in the head with a baseball bat as they came near you. Damn, that would've been entertaining...Oh, but I forgot...Rockstar is trying to go for something more realistic, something that fits the character's attitude, something that fits the atmosphere of New York city! So it's understandable that these kinds of fun but unrealistic features were left out *cough*.A certain amount of realism would'nt hurt, but not to the point where it makes the game stale and uninteresting. What was it that someone made a thread about regarding disssapointed fans? Oh yeah, he suggested being creative and "role-play" to make - MAKE - the game more interesting. Seems like it would've been a hassle to search out an ATM machine and maybe have a limit on how much you can take with you. Like if you could only hold a few thousand it would be annoying to keep going back. Only thing it would be useful for would be if you lost all your money when you died, so you take it there and leave it if you plan on going on a rampage so you lose nothing and don't have to pay anything at the hospital. Most skateparks have street courses to skate. Seeing as it's all vert ramps, it's a bike park. At my skatepark the bikes are all at in the vert parts or the bowl and all the skaters are doing the rails, euro gaps, stairs, and step ups.
