Well, when I first played vice city, I wondered why they set an Italian guy as the protagonist. I think a cuban or haitian refugee would've been much better. So I thought about starting a mod that includes the conflicts of the refugees in Miami of the 80's. So here we go, welcome to little haiti, where 'life's a bitch'.

You play a haitian refugee that has just arrived in Vice City and tries to get to the top.

 

I've done some new textures for the haitian gang since the original haitians look soft.

As for the second gang car of the haitians I thought about a slightly changed Yardie Lobo

I've also converted some San Andreas weapons AND SA weapon sounds which sound much more killer (took me some time to find the sounds in these giant SA soundfiles tounge.gif )

In the beginning you should be able to shake down some shops and stuff

I thought about Romero's, there should also be a Hearse parked in front of it

Since I'm not very experienced in modding I need help.

I need a crew consisting of mission scripters ,someone who knows about texturing and good ideas for the mod.

Ok thanks but I really need help because I want to start this mod to collect experience in modding and I don't want this mod to die. So if someone wants to join, feel free to tell me wink.gif

And what do you guys think, what kind of missions would fit in the Miami ghetto feeling? I think the haitian gangsters earn their money through shaking down people or carjacking, in the later progression of the game there should be more and more problems with the cubans. And maybe there should be a small new gang, I thought of the puerto ricans since they seem to own a cafe. They could replace Diaz' gang.

@=OG4life=: Would be nice if you could help with textures.

On monday I'm gonna get 3dsmax back and I'm going to rigg some stuff from San Andreas including animations.

Oh and I've made a prototype of a puerto rican gang member:

2BS'86 lost the files.Me and a few guys are helping him in texturing,now we need a modeler.

Im your man.. but I dont have GTA VC no more.. I really cant install it too... If you want my help.. send me the files and ill edit them..

The mod is alive again cool.gif

today I edited Little Haiti so it looks a bit more detailed

-> more boxes lying around, more palm trees, more big bushes, more wrecked cars...

Next I'm going to place more weapons and pickups in Little Haiti and Little Havanna.

We got some help with scripting now so there will be good progress.

I dont like it.. I mean it does look fairly good but not GTA: Vice City style.. imagine you're ingame, right? And you're just about to enter this hotel room or whatever.. and you get it and suddenly there are dynamic shadows and stuff like that.. The models are nice, but those shadows on the floor are just textures.. or a result of a dynamic light in 3dsmax.. But I doubt it dozingoff.gif

It will obviously look very different in-game, these are just renders.

lmao, yes somehow the dynamic shadows export with the model ... GENIUS!
