indiekid Posted July 28, 2008 Share Posted July 28, 2008 I've been meaning to watch this. I was up late and watching Ebert and Roeper or whatever and they said this movie was sh*t. Kind of made me think twice, but I'll probably go see it anyways. Personally though, I feel as if in these movies (Talledega Nights is a bit of an exception) the writers and actors are trying waaaay too hard to get the laugh. I saw my uncle the other night and he couldn't stop laughing when he was remembering funny lines from the movie to tell me. He said he's going to see it again, and I trust in his taste. We like the same stuff, and he knows what's a crappy comedy and what's good. I asked him if this was better than Ron Burgundy and he said yes, so I'm all ready to watch this. But of course, the critics and reviewers are bashing it because it's crude, immature, and full of foul-language. It's Will Ferrell, are people really suprised by that? I liked Talladega Nights, but hate The Weatherman: Legend of Ron Burgundy. I enjoyed him in Stranger than Fiction. Have yet to see Semi Pro, but Blades of Glory was sh*t. If you want a good comedy right now, I suggest waiting for Tropic Thunder or Pineapple Express. I saw both in an advanced screening, they were hilarious. Completely retarded plot with no real story progression, but it sure was obtusely funny. It wasn't as funny as it was built up to be by my friends and family, but it had Lulz for sure. "He better not get in my face....I'll drop that motherf*cker." Loved the Seth Rogen cameo, great way to give props to him and acknowledge that he's one of the leading comedy actors in America right now. It was funny, funnier than Talladega Nights hands down. Dragon and Night Hawk rocked the sh*t. Tons of dumb humor, but sometimes that's the best thing. POW. POW, POW!! BOATS 'N HOES bitches. Also, Best after-credit bonus scene ever.
