leik oh em jeez!
an xbox emulator is possible, but it requires xbox live, an xbox with a mod chip, and an FTP client, as you cannot open xbox DVDs on a PC, windows won't pickup the files (not even in cmd, I haven't tryed linux yet.) That is all wrong. Why would you need Xbox Live to run an emulator? No Xbox 360 game requires Xbox live what so ever. Mod chip? Why? You're running it off of your PC, not your system. FTP Client?? Where the hell did that come from?? And you don't need to open an Xbox dvd on a PC. Xbox discs are just like any DVD, they are just only readable by a 360. Therefore, if you had a PC EMULATING what a 360 would do, it would read it. you need xbox live, an ftp client, and a mod chip, because you need the mod chip to copy the files from the disc to your xbox HDD, then you download the files to your pc, to do which, you would need your xbox connected to live, similar to how you go about modding vice city on xbox. and if you are running the emulator over windows, and windows won't pick up the files, then the emulator can't either. the problem is not that windows can't read the files (we would just need programs to open them), windows does not detect the files, as far as windows knows, they are not there, and no they are not just hidden or system files. Now you would be able to open them if you somehow got the xbox's OS running on a PC, which if you don't want insane lag, you would need to run it without windows. now, no you would not need all of that to run the emulator, just to get a to run in the emulator, and to make the emulator (kind of hard to make a program to open or run a file when you have no idea how the file works, and can't get to the file eh?) Abel.
3. No computer is powerful enough to emulate a 360 and run windows at the same time. EDIT I'm wrong, sorry. Edited July 19, 2008 by elanman
leik oh em jeez!
only solution is don't use windows, and that's actually pretty good advice for everything...
Otter
3. No computer is powerful enough to emulate a 360 and run windows at the same time. Sorry mate, but that's bollocks. No, it's not. It was only last year that PCs were able to emulate the original XBOX. Emulation is incredibly resource intensive.

Oh sorry, I mean, I hate piracy, but I thought he meant PC's didn't have the power to do so, (which is bollocks).

leik oh em jeez!
which we don't have the emulators or roms yet.
Rebel
I don't know if this has been cleared up or not. But @V.x No you can't play Xbox 360 games on your PC no matter how much you try to think around that problem. Either wait those couple of years and save up for a PS3/Xbox 360 or wait however long it will be before they put GTA IV onto the PC. But again, I wouldn't bother with trying to find a way to play IV on your PC if R* haven't made the game for PC yet.

Democrab
Keep in mind that hackers still haven't gotten Halo 2 vista working glitch free on XP... They have.... Not even Nehalem will be able to Emulate 360/PS3, Although a good idea for a emulator is a DOS one, since DOS uses way less resources than Windows. ThaDoggfather: People often put PS3s, 360's, etc on eBay for one cent, but then usually lots and lots of people bid and it goes up to more than the RRP.
