Breaking Bohan
Since Budweiser was just sold to the Dutch, I got kinda depressed about America. I would've had one last American owned Bud, but I didn't have any in the fridge; so, I made myself a gin and tonic. I enjoy a nip every now and again while I'm searching these forums or taking a shower. Is anyone else a little less than sober right now, and if so, any particular reason? PS. ((According to latest marketing data, the consumption of beer is way down in usa, while sale of wine and hard liquor rises 3-4% every year)) ... well I can belive it - I don't have any beer. bigmamatuna
The Belgian company is saying they aren't shutting down any U.S. plants, just want a cheap beer they can market in other countries like China because they are also the ones that own Beck's and Stella. Whatever, I have Sam Adams and Yuengling to drink which are all American, all the time.
Woody510
Do you really think that America puts out better beer than Belgium? In fact, have you ever been to Belgium and drank actual Belgian beer?
Breaking Bohan
Do you really think that America puts out better beer than Belgium? In fact, have you ever been to Belgium and drank actual Belgian beer? No, Belgium beer is better than most US beer (I like Becks and Stella better than Budweiser) ... it's just sad that an American icon as big as Budweiser is no longer American - - - it just seems shocking. But my intention was to determine if anyone is actually drinking any beer right now??

In fact I think he drank a little too much while he was in college and was disciplined for it ... thankfully he got his act together.

That is capitalism and the free market, it's the American system, don't like it, too bad, thats the way it always has been, and will be. mark3boyz
Im not a beer fan I stick to my vodka. If I drank beer like I drank booze I would be 500 pounds. Also Becks and Stella are awful beers. Ill take a Killians, New Castle, or Michelob any day over that Belgian crap.

Struff Bunstridge
American beer is horrible. It has no flavour. Justs tastes like water after two or three bottles. I'd go for European lagers all day long, specifically Eastern European ones like Staropramen and Zywiec, or Grolsch. Interestingly, Grolsch is the only mainstream vegan beer on the market in Europe, which is the main reason a lot of British punks drink it. How weird is that haha
Struff Bunstridge
I wasn't born until 1984, so thankfully most of the 80s are a hazy blur of custard and climbing trees. My girlfriend has a leather jacket covered in bottle caps though, I'll have to dig it out of the loft and have a look.
Bernard Jazz
I'd go for European lagers all day long I find lager in general is just gassy, and tasteless compared to other ales.. Also I get cracking indigestion the next day, I'd take a hangover instead anyday. Oh, and isn't Corona Mexican? I've heard good stuff about that. Struff Bunstridge
Assuming from your flag that you're from England, you've gotta love Wetherspoons at Christmas, and their vast array of lethal Christmas ales.

mayfair
I'm pretty much strictly beer nowadays. The only times I'll have liquor is when there is no beer, or I just fancy something different. Rum and coke, or Pernod and coke. For beers though, if it's in the pub it's always a pint of Foster's. From the can, Foster's, and from the bottle, Sol. Do you really think Budweiser is the best representation of American beer? Really? @Mealing: Same, I can't stand most lagers and can only really tolerate a few. Yeungling is decent, but I still wasn't feeling it, especially after I downed my Rogues. I like my beer hoppy. Belgium makes some good beers, Hoegaarten and Grimbergen are great, but they still can't top my favorite American microbrews. (See: Rogue Dead Guy Ale). Struff Bunstridge
It's because you're drinking the wrong sh*t. Do you really think Budweiser is the best representation of American beer? Really? Er, no. I never mentioned Bud. All the American beer I've tried has tasted weak and thin, regardless of the alcohol content. The main reason I prefer European beer is because it's full of flavour no matter how high or low the ABV is. For example, Carlsberg out of a bottle tastes amazing, even at only 3.8%, as opposed to Grolsch or Kronenbourg, which top 5% and still taste great (to me, anyway). Moonshield
Ah, well you said light and weak, I could only assume you're talking about whatever cheap, mass-produced sh*t most people think American beers are, including Budweiser. So I say again, you're drinking the wrong sh*t if you really think that.

Rebel
I don't like bud. Its just well, it tastes horrible to me. The only beer I will drink is Kronenberg beer but that's only when nothings left. I don't really enjoy drinking anyway. So now whenever I do drink its either with Bucks Fizz ( yes I know, weird ) or cocktails.
