Police just amaze me in IV

The police in GTAIV amaze me every day, as today I finally got close and personal with the NOOSE officers and even the standard LCPD grunts. I now see how they try to use rudementary teamwork and tactics to bring you down, for instance I was in a hospital hiding with a shotgun. I waited for the first batch of officers to come through so I could hit them with the shotty, which worked well. Then the NOOSE eventually got into it. While the regular cops kept coming in to lay down suppressive fire, the NOOSE agents pushed the offensive, ducking into other rooms for cover as they advanced. Of course any normal player would have quickly gunned them down, but I was curious to see how they act. When they are hunting for you they even bark out orders to one another! Also, it is great to disarm cops and watch them flee.

Still havent disarmed anybody in GTA since i've been playing..

You just shoot their hand/gun and they should drop it. However, they will sometimes pull out a pistol.

They do flee? I haven't encountered this yet, unless you mean they struggle to walk away in pain if you seriously injured them.

The only time they flee is when they're pretty injured and have no weapons.

AnoNimisT, you could shoot their hands and make them drop it, or do what I do, use a baseball bat. biggrin.gif

Police flee when u put a few bullets in them and they are severely injured with no weapons..

I usually take a pistol when they are trying to flee and shoot them on there head..

You can also take their knife or bat of them and use it on them. To do this just do a counter when they have either knife or bat in their hand (tap A untill you duck their attack then press B).

If you get 1 star, and a cop goes to arrest you, pull out a bat and hit them quick, you will not recive 2 stars for escapeing and if you keep attacking the cop, you will knock his weapon out and engage in hand to hand combat with him like a normal ped.

During the mission "Bleedout" they give instructions on how to properly disarm someone. I know you have to target them, but I don't think you had to shoot them. It was something like waiting for your target sight to blink or change color, and then pressing a button to disarm.

I did it only once, and it was on this mission.

In one of the beginning missions, you have to disarm a man who is attacking you with a knife. Unless, of course, you beat up up before you got the chance, or used cheats and pulled a gun on him.

EDIT: f*ck me. Thanks Tyedyeskyguy for specifying that.

I didn't cheat, I used the shotgun that I stole from a Police Patrol earlier on.

I wanna know how to disarm people too though, I think it would be hilarious to walk up to one of those rifle wielding officers and just swipe it from him, then run off. lol.gif

Chances are, if you have one star and walk up to a shotgun-weilding officer he will try to arrest you and you will get 2 stars. However, from what I've heard in this thread, you can hit him with a baseball bat and he'll drop his weapon. So the way I understand it, you don't actually take his gun and use it on him, he just drops it, right?

I was having a shootout at the platfrom on the water near the airport (the one with the boxes) and sometimes if the choppers didn't explode in the air and the crew survived they would start swimming towards the platfrom to get up and kill me, and they sure got up.
