GoranDaPro
Okay, I just did a system restore, and my San Andreas was gone from computer, so i pop in the CD and.. the setup doesnt start. Help =]
Deuce Deuce
The most obvious solution would be to check if the disk is scratched, or dirty. Go into My Computer and click on the D drive - see if you can open it.
gtamodder
Also, if the disk is NOT scratched, and you have tried running setup from the CD, I would reccomend updating the firmware drivers for your disk drive.

gtamodder
I ain't no expert with this, but I managed to fix a similar error on my Media PC with this problem, I had to use RegCleaner to fix it.

phender65
I'm afraid to say that the registry cleaner method doesn't work in my case. Now I'm at a loss as to how to get this game working again. It was working OK until the weekend when my pc was moving VERY sluggishly. I uninstalled a few programs, then realised that it was the anti-virus prog that was slowing everything down. I also uninstalled the video card drivers, re-booted, then installed more up-to-date drivers, installed DirectX 9.0c then tried to run GTA, only to be met with ...........nothing !! How have I managed to lose this game just by updating video card drivers ??
Girish
How have I managed to lose this game just by updating video card drivers ?? Did you delete the gta_sa.set file from the User Files folder? If not, then do it.
