I got this album today and I absolutely love it - I've had it on repeat for a while now. It's my first Frank Zappa album and I'm definitely going to be searching for more. Anybody want to recommend me some of his other great albums? He's released so many so it's hard to choose which one to get next.

Recently I've been listening to the score for The Dark Knight.

user posted image

I downloaded it a day before I went to see the film, and I had high expectations for it (both, I should say). The score from Batman Begins completely fit the theme of the movie, and this time around I wasn't disappointed. The Joker's theme - Why So Serious - captures his insanity and unpredictability perfectly. Easily my favorite track on the album. And now that I've seen the film, I can't stop listening to this score. Just reminds me of this one hell of a movie at all of the right points in each track.

Well f*cking done my friend, I love that album. My girlfriend bought me the vinyl LP for my birthday and I daren't play it. I already have it in MP3 format and CD format so I'm happy. I recommend Apostrophe (commonly labeled as literally that; an apostrophe) and Sheik Yerbouti. Definitely his best work.

Meanwhile, I'm listening to a lot of Bad Brains which is right up my street. I think they're a suitable platform for me in terms of trying to get into hardcore music.

Alright, I'll check those out. And I'll send a "well f*cken done my friend" back to you with the playing of Bad Brains. Easily my all time favourite Hardcore band. Their self-titled is a classic.

@outcest: Holy sh*t, Clutch are releasing a live album? Man, that's going to kick ass. Have they released any information towards what songs will feature?

edit: I just checked wiki and it said it's going to be released on DVD also. I can't wait!

That's not a very high play count for Itunes. You either don't listen to a lot of music or you have like 10000 songs that you never repeat.

I've been playing Pixies recently, thinking of finishing a discography of them (I don't know why it isn't complete now).

Just been listening to a lot of Robert Wyatt lately - I seem to be completely addicted to his version of 'Shipbuilding'.

Nice Zappa choice, Ya Mum, though I prefer Apostrophe slightly. I just couldn't live without 'Don't Eat the Yellow Snow' - a f*cking classic track.

Right now I'm listening to Lift by Poets of the Fall.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of Weezer, R.E.M., Eels, Pixies and Arctic Monkeys.

I rarely use playlists. I prefer to just search the media player for a single band and listen to all their stuff.

Lately I have been listening to Flobots.

One of their songs kept playing at work, and I figured it was one of those bands that had better songs than their hit that was airplayed a lot.

And I was pleased. smile.gif

Flobots are dope, I used to listen to them a lot. You should get their album "Fight With Tools" if you don't have it already, it's really good. I'm guessing Handlebars was the song they played at your work? Either that or Stand Up.

They seem to be their most popular songs.

Yup, grabbed "Fight with Tools"

And yes, Handlebars was playing a lot at work.

I was hooked on Chain's unplugged performance, absolutely beautiful. Staley's vocals are unmatched.

Now listening to some Zep. Found my mom's old casette tape in my grandma's basement and it's got some pretty good stuff on it.

I have been listening to my 6 CD collection of Led Zepplin. At first I thought it was Ok, but now I really like it. Some really good music, and I have been favoring the song "Kashmir" a lot on the album too.

I'm listening to some weird cassette tape I found in the trash.

It's called River's Island/Another Summer, and it's by S. Kiyotaka & Omega Tribe.

It's like, some odd Japanese stuff, but I think I like it, there were some other strange tapes in there too, I think I'll have to listen to them.

Locked for being a "spamfest".

Anyway, another album I cant get enough of is Stop Making Sense, by the Talking Heads.

This one never gets old for me, plus it's a flawless live album, which is something to behold, especially since its filmed as well, so you can watch it and/or listen to it!

I'm looking to buy the DVD so I can check out the awesome commentary!

Sclera (Melbourne) - Inform the Gods There Will Be Blood.

Top notch progressive death metal from Melbourne. They released two absolutely fantastic songs, then pretty much announced they were breaking up.

Such a pity, they had soo much potential. Really could have gotten somewhere.

@Campo, put on Phantom Lord by METALLICA, be prepared for "Whiplash"!!!

God, I love that Metallica, vintage style!!!!

I've been listening to The Who from their Rock opera compilation DVD that was put out, and it's so nice and I hadn't seen it in awhile, it has an extra vid doc featuring Aubrey Powell, the other half of Hipgnosis, the famed record album cover production company with Storm Thorgerson.
