LostScotsman Posted July 17, 2008 Share Posted July 17, 2008 Hey. only had GTA4 a few weeks. And am really enjoying it. I think personaly Rockstar have made an amazing game!! There are things i would have liked to have seen from previous games prehaps but some of the fine detail in the game is out of this world!! Anyway. Iv recently started playing online. and just getting to grips with the different games. But i am having problems in some areas and wondered if anyone could point out what i might be doing wrong: 1) In deathmatch / freemode type games most players have the same weapon unless they find a new one. Now i can be firing at someone and it seems to take forever i mean like a whole round of ammo and they do not die. yet the same player shots like 4 shots ( from the same distance) in to me and i am dead!! i have literally been locked on, and firing at someone non stop whilst walking towards them and still there life goes down at a really slow rate. Once i had full life, and full body armor and someone took me out before i even got there lift down 50%. can anyone tell me what i might be doing wrong. 2) sometimes i am put in to free mode. And the other players are just wacky. like not doing any thing. and when you try and shoot them they dont die, and they just stand there. they only way players seem to be able to die is by commiting suicide (which can be fun) what is going on here? Tony Mozzarelli 80 Posted July 17, 2008 Share Posted July 17, 2008 In free mode, the host gets to choose whether friendly fire is on or off, so chances are you were thrown into a game where it was off. As for the other thing. When someone spawns they are invincible for a short period, that might be why you were shooting them and their health wasn't going down. Otherwise just try a few techniques such as don't just hold fire, but fire in bursts, to give you better accuracy. also if you while locked on you flick the right analogue up a tad, it will aim for the head. This is the best method of fighting because they will die in a couple of shots. Another trick is when you lock on, only hold the left trigger in halfway, this gives you much better accuracy. It is tricky at first but you will get the hang of it. You will know if you're doing it right because your aiming reticule will decrease in size Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tony Mozzarelli 80 Posted July 18, 2008 Share Posted July 18, 2008 Have no idea i've never experienced anything like that. I can only assume it must be some kind of glitch at your friend's end. Try inviting him into party mode and access deathmatch through there, that's what my friends and i do, it seems to work fine except for the odd time when someone or everyone gets kicked out Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
