Kreks
After upgrading my computer I had 512mb ram and Nvidia GeForce 6600GT 128mb graphic card and game worked perfectly with high settings. Now I have 1,5gb ram and ATI Radeon HD 2400 series 512mb graphic card but game often lags. Is there anything to do to make game run perfectly? Deuce Deuce
Delete the gta_sa.set file. Which is located in My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files, for the record. I'm running SA on an ATi card and I'm getting pretty severe lag - and I still haven't rectified the problem as of yet. Apparently SA has issues running on the newer drivers, but I haven't found any older ones that work. On the official site, it just takes you to the latest one. cacarla
Well if it still lags, try changing your in game settings. Frame Limiter- Off Anti-Aliasing- Off Draw distance- nil or zero Resolution- 640x480x16 or 32, i dont remember that properly and finally bring down your sound acceleration to none. This might help. gtamodder
@cacarla: I think it may be better to have the Frame Limiter on, since I find if you have it OFF, the frames keep skipping every few seconds (it did on all my pc's), like you are getting 23fps for 2 seconds, drops to 4fps for 2 seconds, then backup and so on, but this did not happen with the FL on. @Kreks: I had problems going from a Nvidia 6800 GT, to a HD 3870, after that the game would lag, no matter what I did. But I haven't had this problem with a Nvidia card, ever.

Girish
Frame Limiter- OnAnti-Aliasing- Off Draw distance- nil or zero Resolution- 640x480x32 Corrected. And I don't think turning down sound acceleration would be a good idea or rather, an immediate necessity until he has tried a few other things first. @Kreks: Have you updated your video driver since you got that new graphic card? If yes, try rolling back to an older version. If nothing helps, the last option should be turning down sound acceleration. But the major downside of this is audio lag in cutscenes and random freezes in-game.
