I had more fun playing GTA 3 than GTA 4

the game is shallow. majority of children would be 100% satisfied and impressed.

 

 

the storyline is a sad attempt at drama. of course, you wouldn't know any better, since you still worry about middle school friends/high school friends and gossip

This game was NOT aimed for children in the slightest. I'm not a child (22), and I'm impressed by what the game has.

I dont understand what it is your trying to achieve here. Are you trying get everyone to agree with you, or are you just trying to get a reaction from people? Will that somehow compensate for the fact that you didnt like the game? Surely an adult like you has more important things to do than argue with "easily impressed kids".

I share your sentiment about GTA3 being superior, but I have a different take to it. I was formally introduced to the GTA series through GTA3 on the PS2 back in late-2001. Because I have never played any other game and offered so much freedom, GTA3 was the most intriguing game I have ever seen. But anything after was treated with a "been there, done that" response. Worse still, the lack of innovation and the predictability of plots in subsequent GTAs meant that the series was no longer as interesting as it was back in 2001 (not to the point that I won't play any of these games though), even with improved graphics and expanded features; the latter may also get in the way of actually playing the game, since the buffing up of the game meant there is way too much to manage than it was back in the days of GTA3.

 

In a way, Rockstar is in a tight situation. They have to balance fun with more and more improvements as time progresses in order to keep the series marketable and appease the fanbois. It's a wonder GTA4 is still rather "good" by my standards. I wonder how much longer they can keep this up.

 

You know, GTAaddict does have the privilege to soapbox all he wants. The responses though give me a good chuckle. I recommend this forum be trolled on a daily basis for healthy doses of lulz.

GTA 3 is inferior to GTA 4 due to technology, but I had a lot more fun actually playing GTA 3.

 

 

Starting the game in GTA 3...Escaping from a prison van with another criminal on a highway

 

Starting the game in GTA 4.... driving Roman to his apartment and listening to rpg-like story. blah blah blah

 

 

When I was playing GTA 4, the missions were all the same from start to end. It was so boring......

 

Examples of missions in gta 4...

 

1) one of the missions is even a copycat do-over from GTA 3.... disguise yourself as a motorcycle gang member and frame people.... remember that? GTA 3 did it first......had fun then. Why no originality in 4...?

 

2) Help your homosexual friend (Bernie in GTA 4 / OG Loc in GTA SA) chase down an enemy of his while riding a motorcycle/faggio.

 

etc.........

 

the missions were more fun in GTA 3. The world felt more fun. It wasn't as detailed, didn't have as beautiful graphics, but it was enough for me.

 

 

Anyone else get more enjoyment out of GTA 3 than they did GTA 4?

 

I won't even mention Vice City or San Andreas, since both of those games are superior to GTA 4 and it goes without saying.

I never played GTA till 2006 and played San Andreas first, then Vice City, then GTA III. I rate them in the order I played them. I had fun with GTA III but it was the least fun after the others. It felt like research to learn where Vice City and San Andreas had come from. I appreciate GTA III but I don't love it (which seems to be the attitude some people have about IV). I love IV for all reasons reviewers have given.

Think of it like this, if gta began a few years later, and gta 4 was the revolutionary jump from 2d to 3d then you would be talking about how gta4 was soooooo much better then like gta 5 or whatever. Anyways gta4 is a jump from tons of features compensating for the crappy graphics to a game that has gone back to the basics. From what i know gta3 had better graphics than its previous titles but not loads of features, hmm what is gta4 a game with better graphics and not loads of features. So gta4 is the same thing as gta3, but since gta4 is not the revolutionary jump of the series then oh no it's not as good, because it doesn't have the nostalgia that gta 3 has and thats what you like.

 

So they are almost the same so shutup and don't ask people in the GTA4, I repeat the GTA44444 forum if they think gta3 is better than gta4 because the majority of people on the GTA4 forum are only on it, because they obviously they like gta4 the most. So ask the people in the GTA3, I repeat the GTA 3 forum if they think gta3 is better than gta4, because the only reason they are on the gta3 forum because they obviously like gta3 the most.

That's because in 2001, GTA III was revolutionary, even though there was a sh*tty physics system and not much to do after the game was finished.  GTA IV, 7 years later, isn't so revolutionary, it just has nice graphics and a good physics system.  If it weren't for those, IV would suck and be just like III.

GTA IV not revolutionary?Euphoria is a big step almost as big as 2d-3d step.And GTA IV is so much more detailed, I have never seen such a good game.
