meleeman09
I made a topic a few weeks ago about the graphics card in my computer and found out that i could only install a low profile card. So anyway the only reason i want a better card is so i can play gears of war on the pc. Gears of War (pc) requires NVIDIA Geforce 6600(or better) or ATI x700(or better) I found a low profile card that seems pretty good and im no expert so i was woundering if its better than the other two It's This One im gonna take a guess and say becuase its a GeForce 7200 that makes it better right? (the number being larger than 6600) Btw: i know its a crap card but im limited Edited July 17, 2008 by meleeman09

(the number being larger than 6600) Nope not at all, this is where many go wrong with how cards are named, the 6600 is a mid-range 6-series card whereas the 7200 is a low-end 7-series card which still means the 6600 is better even though its a generation behind. A 7600 would be slightly better if you were looking at a 7-series card though, not sure if you can find one in a low profile model though.

Picolini
Can't really help you, try googling "low profile graphics cards." Make sure your power supply can handle the card! And some tips on forum etiquette: Don't double post, just use the edit button, and try to wait more than 30 minutes (like a few days) to bump with a post. It takes time for people to answer, and if you get no replies, chances are no one knows or just haven't gotten to the thread yet.
scabo19
Yea I am looking on getting a geforce 6600 as well here it is: 6600 card I have an old dell dimension 2400 with an intel celeron processor(can't remember speed) 512 mb ddr ram and a 550w power supply. I plan to replace the celeron processor with my other pentium 4 2.4 ghz processor later on. and put in my two 40 gb ide hard drives as well. I hope this 6600 card will work well with my PC. What do you think?
Picolini
I think that the increase in performance from a 6 or low end 7 series card is negligible and not worth the time, cost, and effort. I put a 6200 in my brothers PC (was laying around) and it did virtually nothing.

What do you think? That will be fine, I was running a 6600GT on a 350w Power supply that was some generic brand so it may not of even made 350w in total. scabo19
Thanks GTA freak, I just ordered the video card so I was a bit scared it would be too high end for my PC but now I'm at ease.
