Snipe Sauce Posted July 16, 2008 Share Posted July 16, 2008 I am not a hater nor a huge fan so I'm not gonna be biased or anything, I'll simply state the facts: gta is not what it used to be. IV is better than the other gta's in my opinion but it is the sandbox style that has become old. think about it, gta 3 came out like 7 or 8 years ago and it was revolutionary at that time.. now, we got games like call of duty 4 which I personally think is currently the best game out there right now because of it's endless replay value(MP), and operates at a high 60 fps (I think) and quite simply has the best physics to it. but that's just my opinion. gta operates with a sh*tty frame rate like 20 fps I think and like I said the sandbox gameplay has become old, I just don't wanna experiment with peds anymore, online is the new revolution in gaming, which means shooting real people is much more fun. people complain about lack of content and stuff and I have to agree on that. rockstar shouldve put so much more features to keep people playing and with some sort of reward like extra cash or something.. I cannot understand why they removed taxis, ambulances and fire truck missions they were simply fun. also there is nothing to spend your money on in the game. I am not gonna suggest what rockstar should do but honestly I do agree with someone in these forums who said gta has become bigger than the people who created it (the housers). I rate gta 8.5 because it is a great game and everything but is definitely not a 10/10 and no.. I am not one of those people who fell for the hype as it is simply really dissapointing. nevertheless as I said before I still think it is the best gta yet and I do play it a little. I wouldn't play the fire truck, paramedic or taxi missions more than once because they would be exactly the same as before. I've said this before- If GTA III/VC/SA never existed, we would have zero complaints about IV. But we've been spoiled and making a sandbox game great is harder than rocket science. I'll bet their isn't one R* employee that said "well, this game has everything I want" because the possibilities are endless. They have to draw the line somewhere. To simply keep everything a previous the games had and just keep adding things isn't the answer. (I dont know what is)I hope *sigh* dlc is the way to go, because if that doesn't work... I like where they're taking GTA, but wish it didn't take so long. Thats why I can understand all the criticism. People are upset because they had to wait so long (understandably!) and this game didn't make the jump (in features) that the previous GTA's did. What they did do is set the table with graphics, euphoria, script and characters to make the biggest GTA jump yet in GTA V. Each game you get better and better not go from bigger to back to sh*t again. Let us make the next GTA game and can tell you that it will be classic, ground break and last for years. The slow frame rate has plagued GTA. I've just learned to except it, and by now I barely even notice it. At least it seems to get better every game, even though (better graphics w/ more detail) you'd think the opposite would happen. Twistie Posted July 17, 2008 Share Posted July 17, 2008 i think that GTA IV is a great improvement over GTA:SA in many aspects. I'm rather glad they got rid of the stupid eating stuff. Although the dating stuff is much better in IV, and I think it can be quite fun. I agree that there shouldn't be so much emphasis on the mini-games as part of relationships. To be truthful, I'm rather glad alot of your 'friends' 'die' simply because you then don;t have to take them out all the time. I think the revolutionary part of the game is the decisions that have to be made. I think this would be a great direction for Rockstar to work on, adding even greater variations of mission gameplay through decisions, adding hours and hours of replay value. I think he has a point. When I was 11, GTAIII was the best thing out there because there was almost nothing like it. For years I wished for an actual crime simulator so I can be the bad guy and actually get pursued for shooting people by the cops. Now after 7 years, I am getting tired of it.
