EmmaISsoontobeMVP Posted July 16, 2008 Share Posted July 16, 2008 I have a lot of reasons why I’m disappointed with this game, mainly the reason that Rockstar Games put no effort into making it a new experience. The missions are soo GTA3 era and the story was flat out boring…not saying it was not good but it was not the story I was expecting from these guys, it was more of a half-ass job from them in my opinion for example when I got to the middle of the game I just wanted to get the game over with because every signal aspect of the game became repetitive. I was not the person saying this after I beat it “Yes, I beat the game!” more like “Thank you, I’m done and can play something else” because I had to beat the game and there was no way I was going to start it and not complete it. My biggest disappointment was that Rockstar Games thought it would be cool to make things more “real” as you will and take away the fun aspect of GTA the everyone loves. We all love the cheats and like to mess around but in this game there is barely anything to do at all! no gun-skills, no business to run and half of the buildings you can’t enter at all. They gave us these repetitive and boring mini games such as pool and girl-friends that don’t need to be in GTA in the 1st place in my opinion and made them the main factor in the game which was just stupid. I don’t think Rockstar Games understand that criminals are not out playing darts you know, they are out robbing stores and pushing drugs..least that is what the criminals where I live do. I think we all can agree that GTA4 was hyped up and not the game we wanted. It’s not a 10. There’s repetitive action and boring game-play for example I’m looking back on the trailers AND THEY LOOK BETTER THEN THE GAME! Tell me what disappointed you, also keep it clean! At the same time, they want Euphoria and the improved graphics. We can blame ourselves for the hype (and the media, which did lie quite a lot) and of course R*, by not saying anything. Iminicus Posted July 16, 2008 Share Posted July 16, 2008 I have a lot of reasons why I’m disappointed with this game, mainly the reason that Rockstar Games put no effort into making it a new experience. The missions are soo GTA3 era and the story was flat out boring…not saying it was not good but it was not the story I was expecting from these guys, it was more of a half-ass job from them in my opinion for example when I got to the middle of the game I just wanted to get the game over with because every signal aspect of the game became repetitive. I was not the person saying this after I beat it “Yes, I beat the game!” more like “Thank you, I’m done and can play something else” because I had to beat the game and there was no way I was going to start it and not complete it. My biggest disappointment was that Rockstar Games thought it would be cool to make things more “real” as you will and take away the fun aspect of GTA the everyone loves. We all love the cheats and like to mess around but in this game there is barely anything to do at all! no gun-skills, no business to run and half of the buildings you can’t enter at all. They gave us these repetitive and boring mini games such as pool and girl-friends that don’t need to be in GTA in the 1st place in my opinion and made them the main factor in the game which was just stupid. I don’t think Rockstar Games understand that criminals are not out playing darts you know, they are out robbing stores and pushing drugs..least that is what the criminals where I live do. I think we all can agree that GTA4 was hyped up and not the game we wanted. It’s not a 10. There’s repetitive action and boring game-play for example I’m looking back on the trailers AND THEY LOOK BETTER THEN THE GAME! Tell me what disappointed you, also keep it clean! From reading your post, I would say you played GTAIII. Yet, you then bitch about the lack of 'fun' things to do in GTAIV. Are you not aware that all the crap from San Andreas actually drove loads of GTA players away due to the unnessecary aspect of them? GTA is all about driving, gun fights, and killing. It isn't about eating, dressing up, dating, etc. The story is stellar and it easily beats out Vice City and San Andreas. GTAIII wil always have the best 3D GTA Storyline. The reason you are disappointed is because you believe all the unfounded hype force fed to you by IGN, PS Magazine, Xbox Magazine, GameSpy and other media sources. You had already decided that GTAIv was going to be the best thing since slice bread without every playing it. You read to much and to far into everything before the game was released. You set yourself up for disappointment and you expected to much from this game. Rockstar has never and will never promise us anything because sometimes things have to be withdrawn. I love GTAIV. I think the game is outstanding visually and story wise. I do have some dislikes but not enough for me to be disappointed with the game. I think overall GTAIV is a brilliant game.
