Taken, originally released in France, soon to release everywhere.

Alright, I see the teaser for this film a few weeks ago and was blown away. I couldn't believe I had never heard of it until then, but then I realized it was a French film. However, it'll be releasing worldwide in September, causing me great joy.

PLOT:

Neeson stars as a former CIA spy who must rely on his old skills to save his estranged daughter who has been kidnapped and forced into the sex slave trade while vacationing in Paris.

Teaser Trailer - Early Teaser from December

More Official US Trailer - July

THOUGHTS:

As soon as I saw the trailers I thought, "Man on Fire....with a white guy." But not in a bad way, because I loved Man on Fire and having seen Schindler's List recently, I now love Liam Neeson as an actor. So, this looks great. The only complaint I know of at the moment is that this movie is really on the short side, clocking in at only 91 minutes. But the action is brutal and intense, which demands your attention.

4 Action-Filled Clips (well the 1st is more character backstory):

Clips, might be spoilers, but they're great.

Oh god this movie is going to be awful. And I love Neeson. Not because its a bad plot, its a freakin sweet plot, but because its another bullsh*t PG-13 movie. Im so sick of these PG-13 action flicks. They make me want to puke. I dont understand how a CIA agent going around torturing people trying to find his daughter who is caught up in the sex slave market is acceptable for 13 year old kids to be watching. The idea that they went out of their way to take such a mature story and tweak it for a PG 13 rating is awful. I hope the studio execs die awful deaths. The PG-13 rating is to action movies what late night Cinemax is to porn. Except much MUCH worse. I for one will not be seeing this steaming pile of whitewashed sh*t. God even Neeson needs a swift kick to the groan for this one.

That is pretty f*cking ridiculous, and could be a bad omen. However, the Bourne films were PG-13 and didn't seem watered down to me at all.

I highlighted the 3 words that would instantly appear to every 13 year old boy in existance. All you need to draw in teen audiences in the promise of blood and boobs. And of course, the studios know any film with those 2 in will appear to younger teens so they try and get the rating to maximize people watching and thus, maximize profit.

Also, with the Bourne films - While I agree they are violent they are shot in a way that does really show it fully, we all know it had a..unique camera style which they used to great effect to make a violent film seem less violent. You could barely make out the violence, just Jason Bournes arms swinging round like a madman and people being thrown into walls.

I've seen the french version already and it's not bad at all. It's just one of those filler movies really, nothing special but still watchable.

Neeson is f*cking great as always though.

I haven't seen any trailers recently that have really blown me away. That is until I saw a preview for this today at the cinema.

Damn it looks good. Can't wait to see it.

Nice trailer. And I'm a fan of Liam Neeson. But I'll probably just rent it when it comes out on DVD.

So, wait up, this film is entirely in French? Or what? Not that I really mind, I'm pretty open with movies from other country's I'm not averted to reading subtitles, I know some of my friends won't but there the one's who are missing out, I mean Pans Labyrinth was an awesome film.

Looks good.

Ah Liam Neeson had some great roles in some movies

. Oscar Schindler

. Villain from Batman Begins

. Michael Collins

He's one of my favorite actors so i might as well check this out when it releases.

Well, I guess it depends on where you're viewing it. I think subtitles will be in all versions except in the US and UK. Or something, I dunno. Because they're speaking English in the trailers.

It's English, but set primarily in Paris where (unsurprisingly) a few characters speak French. There were no subtitles, however as the dialogue spoken in French was very little anyway and added to the intrigue of the characters (you'll understand when you see it).

I enjoyed 'Taken', the plot was pretty thin and simplistic and the dialogue snappy, but what really made this film was Liam Neeson pretty much killing every resident in Paris with his bare-hands (and sometimes he used a gun...). Also the film had a human feel with the story-arch of a father doing everything he can to save his daughter from a life of hell.

Yes, I thought this film was releasing in the US this month, but IMDB says not till January. So I have to wait, which blows. I'm going to see with my father who loved, loved, Man On Fire. The action is what I'm in it for, plus Liam is so suprisingly perfect for that straight-faced killer role.

And I heard Liam like wipes out half of Paris, which is just awesome sauce.

More like "Man on Fire... without a God awful director"

I've been hearing really good things about the movie. I will be checking it out very soon, you know, because it's out now in the UK. f*ck YOU AMERIKKKAN PIG DOGS.
