man ive ignored this game for over a week now i dunno why...gotta get back into it again. im gonna have to try and find this dog now.

I think my game glitched... In the ghoul town the bartender (whos name I cant even pronounce) told me that if I could kill that one ghoul that operates the motel that his companion would join me and I did it without alerting anyone ( using a stealth boy and a simple frag grenade in the pocket worked without them alerted that I did it.) and nothing is comming up in his convos that would let him know the job is done... damn.

I thought it would be a case of as soon as you find him he dies, or you never find him. I was quite surprised.

Got the game 3 weeks ago for PS3, haven't played anything else since. I haven't finished the story, I'm going for the Platinum Trophy. The only one I might have trouble with is hacking 50 terminals, because I suck at it. Anybody have some tips?

Yeah I already tried it and it never poped up again, maybe later I'll try it some more.

If you really get stumped try writing down the words you try in a column, it makes it easier to find patterns and eliminate words. I'm also pretty sure the higher your science level the less words you have to choose from. I've got 100 science and even the hard terminals can be hacked easily.

You normally get 3 or 4 attempts to guess/work out the correct password. When you get to your final attempt exit the computer and go back into it, you’ll have your maximum amount of attempts and a new set of words to choose from. Just repeat until you get the correct one.

Don't forget about finding the bracket pairs as well as the words. Each bracket pair will take out a dud word, and sometimes reset your attempts to 4.

Thanks for your help, I'm pretty good at it now, but I still have about 30 terminals to go. I'm using a list of all hackable terminals from The Vault, but it's f*cking boring getting to them, hacking them and then repeating.

 

Also, I finished the main quest today. The ending sucked. Walk behind a robot for a bit, trying to shoot at some Enclave before he just blows them up for you, then go into a room, kill Autumn just like any other person in the game, kill his bodyguards, and then the choice. And then the lame ending movie. I thought it would show you a video of every choice you made, but it turns out there's just videos for your karma level, gender, choice at the end, and one random quest. Then the title screen.

Yeah, it was a pretty boring way to finish the main questline, although I guess it's not the true "end" to the game, in the sense there are multiple DLC packs. I would imagine the final DLC will have an epic ending worthy of a game like this.

I see what I did I f*cked up... I killed the wrong person, but I wasn't sure so I went back and did the same trick to the other person that worked there then I got Charon.

I got the game a few weeks ago. Just as something to do, expecting it to be possibly crap. But it turned out to be one of the best games ive ever played. Despite the things in the game that I usually hate.

 

I only have the last mission to do Which I have been holding off on doing. Getting all the unique guns and armor etc.

 

Done everything now really except exploring a few places.

 

I will get the dlc next.

I see what I did I f*cked up... I killed the wrong person, but I wasn't sure so I went back and did the same trick to the other person that worked there then I got Charon.

My problem is that I killed the right person, but Charon and the guy in the bar go to initiate something scripted, but they just freeze up and have been standing there since I killed the person.

I went through that game planning all my quests to do with tempenny tower and megaton so i could get all the benefits from them all and i foolishly let some different people live in tempenny tower and they f*ck my entire plan! and guess what! i already saved my game so i couldnt go back god dammit! I stopped playing the game for a while after that but last night i started again. I went into Rivet city and killed everyone and piled them on the bed in the room you can rent! I AM SICK!

LMFAO @ Obama. The game is alot more fun when you decide to be evil, I don't see how anyone gets through this game without getting tired of stupid NPCs and just start blasting them, but maybe thats just me. I just got the Reaver achievement (reach LV8 w/ evil karma) and I was thinking about going good or atleast neutral for other achievements but I quickly crossed that out as its just too much fun to kill random people and start a riot inside of a city.

I have seen Abe Lincoln and Chuck Norris in fallout 3 but never Obama!

 

I started my very first game and planned on being good but i started the blood ties quest and i killed everyone because i didn't know you could get in without killing. After that i just ended up killing everyone that didn't matter. Killing traders and raping their caravan for everything it has is always good.

I only played a good character because in general, if you are good you get better rewards and more options for quests. Of course, that was my first play through. The second time I went through I had my karma at the very worst the whole time, but still played the good guy in the quests and got the best of both worlds.

 

That was until I accidentally got Charon, Dogmeat, Jericho, and Clover killed. After that I boosted my Karma up to good and got other companions.

Went on Fallout 3 today hoping the new patch would somehow fix the glitch i'm having where it freezes when i enter the tenpenny tower suite and it didn't, i suppose i'll wait until The Pitt until i start playing this again.

The first DLC, Operation Anchorage, came out at the end of January, i thought it was pretty good and has a nice change of scenery considering it's all bright and snowy, the new weapons and clothes really are cool especially the Stealth Suit and the Gauss Rifle, but the whole way of playing through the simulation in the DLC is very different from the normal gameplay with there being health and ammo dispensers dotted literally everywhere, i know it was designed to be quite linear but i think it's too linear. Overall it's a good start of the 3 DLC packs.

 

The Pitt should be out this month though, i can't wait to get it and try out the Auto Axe.
