Bit disappointed with the ending.

 

For such an epic lead-up, watching Liberty Prime absolutely crush every Enclave soldier that pops up while spouting about how Communism must die, the ending was just.... bleh. After the epicness that is Liberty Prime, you get inside and there's that anti-climatic battle with the Colonel (killed him in two or three shots with my plasma rifle). Then you either go in and die, or have Lyons (sp?) go in and die for you. Then it fades to white, and then you get the epilogue. Even if you choose not to die it still ends with that, and you're unable to continue on with your game.

 

I kinda imagined this deal where you're overlooking the river outside after you turn the purifier on, and watch it change from dirty, irradiated water to crystal clear purified water straight outta Oblivion before your eyes. But NOOOOOOOO! Can't have any of that stuff here, sir, sorry! Gotta end the game! Gotta go back and load on old save! Sorry!

 

Besides that bit, the game is epically awesome. Sometimes it gets a bit boring wandering around the Wastes for an extended period of time, but I still loved it. Beats the hell outta Oblivion, and that's saying something. Can't wait to get the endgame lvl 20 perks.

Yeah the ending is quite crap but there are apparently hundreds of endings so depending on what you do in the game you should get a different ending each time which is pretty cool!

Basically, there's not really hundreds of completely different endings, but hundreds of permutations. So you've got about 4 large endings, but with hundreds of little tweaks to it depending on what you did throughout the game - same with the past games really, it just wasn't explained very well when they first announced it.

Good, good. I cant really find anything wrong with this game from what I've seen, so I'm getting it tomorrow.

I've only gotten radiation sickness about five times the whole game, and once for a quest. But unlike the old games, this one actually tells you how irradiated you are, at what point the different levels of radiation sickness set in, and it's much easier to fix your radiation issues. I remember there were times in the old games where I'd have, like, moderate sickness, I'd go to a doctor and say "Heal my radiation" and they'd be like "LOL DAREZ NUTHYNG RAWNG WIT U LOL N DATZ 100 KAPZ LOL" meanwhile my stats are being affected negatively.

 

But, like I've mentioned, the game does a good job of making radiation something to worry about, but not to the point where you find yourself not eating or drinking anything or else you'll die. It takes A LOT of radiation to kill you.

A little mor ethan 2/3 of the main storyline is what I'd say.

I've given up hope on PC Gaming. Too much hassle in my opinion

@nlitement, what makes you say that? As in, I should do some to get XP/items?

And I finished that quest now. Didn't have the repair skill to use the FuseBox, didn't have the science skill to use the comp...so I went crazy, killed every raider, and as I had planned, it raised my level Now I'm in the abandoned vault, searching for the G.E.C.K, with hardly any health and any ammo, and all my weapons are slowly dying on me. But I've played through most of the game with little health and no ammo anyway

Wow, you've missed about half of the storyline. There's a whole bunch of missions at the GNR radio station and stuff that you haven't done. I'm actually amazed it allows you to do that.

 

@Trows, how did you get a picture from the front of you're guy? Inside Vats? Is that the only way.

On 360, you press the 'Change View' (left bumper) button and move around the 'Look' (right analogue stick).

Try it on PC with the 'Change View' and Mouse.

Well I am totally in love with this game. I ventured into Vault 106 about an hour ago that place is f*cked up. It was creeping me out quite a lot. All the visions and computers talking to me, I got the hell out of there as soon as that happened. Screw the bobblehead.

They should call this game Crashout instead. Seriously, such a great game and series, but riddled with tons of glitches and lots of crashing to desktop, still no patch yet. One of the pirate groups released a patch and it seems to be fixing peoples problems with the game. Seriously, wtf?

You're probably just gonna have to go find some better armo, weapons, and level up. Go do some sidequests and level up once or twice. When you come back it should be much easier. If you're still using a 10mm pistol, wearing Vault 101 Security armor, and you're level 3, that'd be your problem.

EDIT: Damnit. The answer is no. Oh well, maybe if my computer was COMPETENT i could get the PC version and mod my way around that retarded litttle limitation. But NoOoOoOoOoO, my computer only has 512 megs of RAM...

Yeah, the game was having a bunch of issues, for example, when the speech for enclave radio finished, it would crash, or you went to talk to the guy that wants you to blow up megaton, the game would crash, and lots of random crashing, sometimes at the title screen. The pirate patch involves reencoding the games audio, after I did it, my retail copy was working great on my macbook pro. Just check out the Bethesda forums, the place is full of angry gamers who have tried many things from deleting ffdshow, to new drivers, and much more solutions. 2515 topics since the game has launched just for the pc version. I did a bunch of the regular stuff you do when you have issues with any game, but this has to be the first PC game I have ever had that crashed so many times, sometimes every 3-5 minutes.

I just got Fallout 3 for the pc, gone through the whole game in two days and two nights

 

Now I'm bored I thought I'd have some fun with the ingame console, but when I try to bring it up, nothing, the console won't show, I can still move around and everything so its not the resolution problems, I'm using a laptop and I've heard that this is one of the problems, but found no solution, anyone know how to fix this? Come on guys help out a fellow gtaforums member
