Bump.

Is anyone else still playing this? I am about to finish the main quest as the bad guy and I have really been enjoying it. I might do another playthrough 'cause:

I regret blowing up megaton and tenpenny tower sucks.

FO3 has some of the best DLC. If you do another playthrough, definitely invest in all of the DLC.

I'm still playing it. Playing through it as a neither good nor bad, just deciding on who I think is genuine and who I'll be nice to or not. However, I didn't do as you said. I did feel rebellious and empathetic and

let the ghouls in to Tenpenny Tower. I did a Robin Hood job there as I felt kind of sad for the ghouls - while the rich sit and complain.

I've just reached the Brotherhood of Steel. I've done the Project Purity mission and now I'm off to do Finding The Garden of Eden.

The game still holds up well. For those who haven't played or think it may not be their cup of tea.. .keep an open mind, do a little beginners research and come up with a relative game-style/plan and enjoy!

Trying to install FOOK2 since half the mods I'd use back in the day seem to have vanished. And of course it crashes on startup...

The hype intensifies. Come on 4, I'm ready to put my life on hold again.

Thanks monk, I didn't have to bump this. Lol

I finished this game for the first time a few months ago and really really enjoyed it. It was my first Fallout experience and it sucked me in like no tomorrow.

Though I enjoy New Vegas more in terms of gameplay and story, I much preferred the Capitol Wasteland in terms of map. It felt more secluded and lonely. Dark and cold. Where as New Vegas felt like it was more alive and like society was re-building. Which is fine, but I liked the lonleyness of 3.

Fantastic game.

I 'personally' loved 3 a lot more than nv. Like you said the map is fantastic. It has this certain dreary bleak atmosphere to it that really makes you believe you are in a post apocalyptic world. I 'personally' didn't feel that sense in new vegas, Still a great game in it's own right. Fallout 3 is what pulled me back into gaming hard out. Trying to unlock all the achievements and explore the wasteland, there was only one quest line I couldn't find for the life of me (this was before I discovered a wonderful thing called google). God the joy of finding the bobbleheads :) lol

Probably because New Vegas didn't do the post-apocalyptic world route, which is intentional.

Jerking For Soup

R.I.P Fallout 3.

You were the third RPG I played after Oblivion and Morrowind, you kept me occupied until 2014 with your endless amount of quests and side activities, you remain my favorite game even after 8 Years, you revolutionised how RPGs should be played, reeled me in to the environment like a Moth to a flame. You drowned away my sorrows and made me happy. I love you Fallout 3.

So I say this, Thank You Fallout 3. You helped me through the darkest of times, you gave me memories I will not forget soon.

The feels are way too intense, and I'm sorry to bump a dead thread, but, I feel an emotional connection to the memories I experienced with this game.

The Ink Spots - I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire

I don't want to set the world on fire

I just want to start a flame in your heart

In my heart I have but one desire

And that one is you no other will do

I've lost all ambition for wordly acclaim

I just want to be the one you love

And with your admission that you feel the same

I'll have reached the goal I'm dreaming of believe me

I don't want to set the world on fire

I just want to start a flame in your heart.

I wouldn't say Fo3 is dead. It's still a great game and in some ways is still better than Fallout 4 imo.

PoeticWhisper

I played Fallout 3 like a week or so ago. And I would play New Vegas if it were backwards compatible on my Xbox One already. I love Fallout 3 and it's only gonna be dead when it's dead to whoever is playing it.

After playing Fallout 4 for the first time two years ago, which was my first Fallout game to play, I wanted to try the older Fallout games. For the last two years, I've been looking for them. Well, I was finally able to find one of the older Fallout games at a local pawn shop. The one I found, was Fallout 3. Although, it was just the base game so I had to purchase the DLC's for it separately. Recently, I was able to do just that and it only cost me $25 for all five of the DLC's.

Well with my initial playthrough, I didn't realize that without the DLC's the game ends and your character dies. I quit playing the game once I completed Project Purity as I would have to go to a save prior to completing it as I didn't have the DLC's at the time. So I was a bit put-off to the game after discovering that. Then I purchased the DLC's and I've been playing the game off-and-on for the last few weeks. While I was completing the main storyline, I tried to stay neutral but ultimately swayed to a full-on a good guy. Though I did enslave a few people for money. Like the gun-merchant in Rivet City. I couldn't get a collar on him discreetly so the whole ship went hostile towards me during it. I didn't have Fawkes at the time so I had to get rid of some people so I could escape, after getting a collar on the guy, without dying. I ended up going through all of my stimpacks and became addicted to drugs. Also, I lost some people involved with side-quests that I cannot do now during that event. I even lost the guy who would have replaced the gun merchant there. Also, I guess I killed someone named "Sister" prior to doing their associated side quest during that enslavement attempt. From what some of the NPC's in Rivet City have told me, that person is a slaver. So as of writing this, I probably need to go back to the slave camp and see if I didn't kill them and see if they ended up there since I've worked with the slavers to get money.

Now as for the DLC's, so far I've completed Operation Anchorage Alaska and Mothership Zeta. I'm currently working on Point Lookout. I actually enjoy Point Lookout the most, thus far. Reminds me of Far Harbor quite a bit. The inbred cannibal rednecks are surprisingly comforting to see as they remind me of the people that you can find here in my home state. Yes, I live in the southern-midwest of the United States. So seeing them, makes me feel more at home while exploring the place. I can even speak their language and they never attack me as they know that I am one of their people, although I'm clearly much more intelligent and I don't eat people. Nor am I in a cult for that matter.

Anyways, since Fallout 4 was the first Fallout that I have ever played and going back to play the older Fallout 3, I can easily see the improvements Bethesda has made with the series. For example, one of my biggest gripes with Fallout 3 is that you cannot sprint in the game. You can in Fallout 4 although at the expense of your AP. When sniping, you cannot hold your breath to steady your aim. You can in Fallout 4. It's things like that that I'm glad they improved upon in the newer games and I look forward to playing any future Fallouts that are to come.

Doctor Holliday

Fallout 76 looks so vastly uninteresting that I'm probably gonna' go ahead this year and do what this guy did; replay Fallout 3 and New Vegas using so many goddamn mods that they don't even look like the original game anymore.
