I based myself out of a house in Minefield for the first 20 hours or so, because I wasn't able to disarm the bomb yet.

Really? My first attempt, I was able to disarm it. In that was just in my first dozen hours of play or so. I assumed it was supposed to be easy, but I guess my Explosion skills was high.

And whatever it was named after, I laughed. I just kept picturing Chevy as Clark Griswold.

Well I found two, the one the map points you to and one along the west side of the downtown that is blocked off. Its near where the National Guard Depot is, before it perhaps if you are going north. Anyway the entrance has a raider camp above it and when I was there the Raiders were taking on a pair of Super Mutants.

Well, I was worried that I'd blow up Megaton if I didn't have high enough skills. Then I realized I could just save my game before I tried in case things went wrong. I gave myself the facepalm for that one.

Is there a particular metro I need to take to get to GNR or will they all lead there? I ask as I have found 2 metros both with their share of monsters and items to find.

Make GNR your main quest in your PIP-Boy, then enter the Farragut West metro station and follow the map marker to Chevy Chase.

Can someone direct me toward the alien wreckage? I read that it's north of the power plant in the northeast. I found the power plant, looked around quite a bit, but I can't seem to find it. Can someone give me a compass berring from the power plant?

How nuts is it that I've had Gears 2 as long as I've had Fallout 3, and I still haven't played Gears yet...

Same here, Far Cry 2 as well and I've been waiting to pick up Left 4 Dead until after I finish this. It's been out for how long now? Haha.

This has got to be my favourite game of all time. Since i got my new 360, I've only played Gears for a couple of hours, non of Fable 2 and 49 hours of Fallout 3. It's just so addictive, like Psycho lol.gif . I'm not going to enter Vault 87 until I've done all the side quests.

Just got the Experimental MIRV. Man, it is awesome. Shame that there aren't any infinite ammo cheats for 360.

Vault 87 isn't the last mission if that's what you're worried about.

My brother brought back Fallout 3 today when he came back from his part time job and I don't know why he likes it so much. I mean, the it's really cool sandbox game but I just don't like it. However, I am looking forward to MGS4. I really want it while i'm still having my holidays until next year, but I don't have enough money. sad.gif

Damn, I haven't even been to any other vaults. And when can I go back to Vault 101? If the answer is a spoiler, nevermind.

All I did today was dick around mostly, trying to do all the quests on my plate. I just now finished the Those! quest, got the Ant Might injection, sweet... I also finished the Superhuman Gambit quest, where I killed the AntAgonist, and had to run around to get my Lockpick skill high enough, to return, bust into the Mechanist's Forge and talk to him. I brought the suit, and convinced with my Speech skill that he was causing more trouble to CC with his battles than there ever was before. Funny though, he was leaving CC before I could convince him of that. Even funnier, he left CC and walked right into 2 Yao Guai's, haha, massacre.

Also, enough get a high enough Good Karma that random people just start giving you gifts? Was quite wierd at first. I thought it was just because I saved Megaton, but then I figured it was because I had so much Good Karma. I've gotten purified water and ammo so far, can't get mad at that.

I also finally travelled to the Regulator HQ. I came with 10 fingers, and got 100 caps. 10 caps a finger seems pretty sh*tty to me, I dunno. There was 2 Yao Guai's right in front of the damn HQ, what sh*tty luck. I had to sneak around them, and later when I left the HQ, before I could sneak up on them, they attacked and killed all 4 Brahmin in the yard. Awful sight.

Now I'm gonna see if I have the patience to go to all 3 of those places in the Blood Ties mission.

How do people get their Pip-Boys in blue?

I believe there is an option to change it in a pause menu, or one of the Pip-Boy menus.

I'm so looking forwards to Christmas so i can get this game, i'm getting it with a 360, and i have been checking this topic every so often and reading some of the stuff you lot get up to in capital wasteland, and it's just made me want this damn game more, shame about the glitches and bugs that i've heard about, but i'm sure Bethesda will sort that out eventually.

This MIRV thing, is that in the National Guard Building which is right on the edge of the downtown area? Guarded by two Protectron Bots? If so I gather the MIRV is behind the door I can't open in the room with all the ammo and weapons?

Voodoo glances around the room.

Nope. No one cares.

That is correct, sir. You'll need to find all of the components of the door code which are scattered around the wasteland.

It can be kind of stupid sometimes though. Just a while ago they said they all pooled together to get me a bottle cap. Yeah, that's right. One f*cking cap.

Jesus, they really outdid themselves there. sarcasm.gif

Hmm, I like the sound of that MIRV thing. How many components are there in total?

Is there any one place with a sh*t load of .44 Magnum ammo? I just got Lincoln's Repeater (awesome gun, btw), and I want it to be my primary weapon, but .44 ammo is a pain to find.

So the audio log things I find relating to the Kellar Family are them? I've found about three of them on my own so I'll keep at it.

I am at lvl 15 right now and a few of the quests are starting to become a bit hard, just wondering if its time to move to Power Armor as I've got my Big Guns at a useful level and it seems the Combat armor isn't enough. I've been to The Citadel, and know that's where you get taught it but can anyone point me in the right direction of how to spark off what a gather is a Quest for Power Armor.

GTA3Freak-2001:

"Paladin Gunny is a Brotherhood of Steel Paladin stationed at the Citadel. He can be found in Ring A just outside the lab in the council room, outside in the courtyard training recruits during the daytime, or inside a dormitory in Ring A.

He can give the Vault 101 Dweller Power Armor Training.

Permission must be granted by Elder Lyons before Gunny will provide the necessary training. "

I found this fallout wiki site and it's pretty in depth, thought I'd pass it along

Yeah, Fallout Wiki has to be the best site for Fallout. And as for Paladin Gunny, I usually see him in the courtyard, near the training Initiates. I'm gonna go play some Tactics biggrin.gif

I'd just like to warn everyone, if you get into Paradise Falls using bad karma then all the slavers love you and give you gifts like Rad-X, but if you later ask Grouse if you can enter PF after that, then it overwrites the getting in with bad karma with just getting in and the slavers suddenly don't like you, and no longer give gifts. This is annoying.

I guess I should have explained, I can't get into the Citadel on account of(after checking out the FalloutWiki) that I am not far enough into the main story missions to get into the place. Only just got the lead to head for Vault 112, I've been doing story related stuff sparingly you see not wanting to hit the end of the game before making the most of the side quests.

you see not wanting to hit the end of the game before making the most of the side quests.

Don't worry about that, all you need to do is make sure you don't enter Vault 87 when you get that as an objective. I'm waiting until I've done all the side quests before i do that. For a full list of quests be sure to look here. Now the objective to enter Vault 87 is actually listed under Picking up the Trail and i presume that once entered the Finding the Garden of Eden quest begins. It's safe to do Rescue from Paradise Just make sure you don't enter Vault 87 until you've finished with the side quests. Although technically you can do more of the story and stop, it seems better to do it this way from what i hear.

Is there a way to trick the Raiders into believing your one of them? For example I’m on my way to a museum to collect an item and I have run into a group of them, I managed to kill them successfully and one has a mask as well as the usual Raider armour. Will wearing this allow me to pass as one of them and go unharmed by that group or is it even possible to do so?

Also I was in a metro and found another protecton hub with the computer to hack. I got the password wrong though and it now says you must contact an administrator, does this stay like this for the rest of the game now or will I be able to try hacking it again at a latter time?

I'm pretty sure Raiders will always attack you regardless.

And failing a hacking means that you're locked out of that terminal indefinitely. Most terminals don't do anything terribly important though, so it isn't such a big deal. I usually just quicksave before hacking, and keep trying until I get it.
