If it's in the tunnel I believe so, I talked them into 30 caps a piece, unloaded all my sugar bombs, and then killed em both and looted the whole room, got a nice sawn off shotgun and some armour in the process.

I dealt with my first Talon Company hit squad yesterday. I decapitated two of them with my combat shotgun and just blew away the third one.

 

Oh, and I had my first encounter/kill with a Yao Guai or whatever. I was looking over a hill, because I thought I saw a raider, when a huge f*cking claw popped out of the left side of the screen and took the remainder of my HP away. I screamed like a bitch in shock. Upon the load, I ended up blowing it's head off with my shotgun as well. Love the shotty.

 

I also finally made it to Rivet City. I was trying to get the Ghoul city, but kept getting detoured for some damn reason. Before getting there I ran into that huge Super Mutant base. It took my shotty, some awesome frag grenade throwing, and a huge explosion consisting of 4 cars to ignite a mini-nuclear explosion that killed the 2 final SM's attacking me. All in all, I think I faced 6, and 1 had a damn mini gun.

 

With the scrounger perk, I'm getting so much ammo. I have 800+ rounds for my Minigun, 81 missiles for my broken missile launcher, flamer fuel, and over 50 frag mines.

 

Plus, I took the Here and Now perk, really came in handy. I might have to take a break for the game, as it's back to sh*tty college work.

I remember when I first started playing this game and I avoided the super mutants at all costs. My secret to killing them now is to just run straight at them and shoot them in the head with a shotgun. It works great against groups of two, but you probably shouldn't do it when there's more around, unless you have enough stim packs. Deathclaws on the other hand. . . . damn those things.

Yeah I had the Talon Group after me, two separate groups have tried to get me but a few shotties to the face and some laser pistoling takes care of them. I am still struggling a bit with ammo so I'll make sure to get the Scrounger Perk next lvl. Got Dogmeat, more of a pain in the arse then anything!

I have yet to use a mini nuke yet, and I haven't even shot one missle yet, I'm waiting until my second playthrough (as a bad character, for the achievement points.)

I am a bit disappointed in the selection of long range weaponry though. The only long range stuff I've found is a plain-jane sniper rifle and the scoped .44 magnum. Are there others that I haven't found yet? (excluding the "make you own" weapons)

Actually, I just built the dart gun, but I can't remember where I got the schematics. I just kinda put it in my locker in my house as soon as I made it, it really didn't look all that menacing, but I did notice the "-1000 right leg, -1000 left leg, -8, 8sec" in the description. I'll have to go try it out, now that you've mentioned that.

 

On the ammo: if you're struggling to find ammo now, just know that once you start exploring more, you'll find more ammo than you'll ever use.

Tell me about it - i have so much goddamn ammo...gotta say though, running a tad low on stimpaks. That hospital in the Rileys Rangers quest was a good place to find em. I'm exploring the NorthWest corner of the map where all the Enclave Roam - its so fun. I use Butch's Toothpick (switchblade) and sneak up on the soldiers, backstab-kill each one then just pulse-grenade the sentry bot. Although I gotta say, those sentry bots really piss me off at times.

After doing most of the Side quests yesterday, I decided to just explore the map. Without realising I stumbled into Deathclaw Sanctuary . I ran like hell from that place. I will come back when my character is stronger and own those bitches.

I also found some satellite dish that launched a lot of mini nukes. It was pretty cool to watch as they landed all around the area at night time.

 

Now my mission is to find the experimental MIRV.

There's one in the National Guard depot, but to get past the big door you need 5 holotapes (I think) to get the password.

I'm gonna continue playing today. I'm searching for Pinkerton in Rivet City for the android quest.

 

I already saw the outcome for lying, but now I wanna find out the android's identity and see how far I can follow this quest through without actually turning him in. I still have so much of the map left to explore it's crazy. And I'm still broke, so I gotta find a way to make some scratch.

 

I spent a grip on some new gear. I bought the combat armor and that cool combat helmet, and I'm sporting some biker googles. My defense is pretty serious right now.

 

Only I have no money to repair some sh*t that needs repairing, like my missile launcher.

Brilliant quest, and a nice reference to Blade Runner. Speaking of which, I'm disappointed there's no .233 pistol in this game - someone needs to mod this in.

Built the Rock-It Launcher last night, its a fun weapon to use. Got Butch as a follower aswell, he was pretty badass but he died goddammit.

I wish that NPC characters weren't so damn easy to kill. I had dogmeat for all of two hours before he ran full on towards three super mutants with missle launchers and miniguns. Stupid dog.

 

Does anyone remember where Sydney goes when you finish the quest at the treasury? I kept her alive for that mission, then she went on her way, but she had a unique 10mm submachine gun that I want to collect, but I can't for the life of me remember where she said she was going.

Just had some fun around the satellite dishes launching some missiles, got Dogmeat killed in the process by one of the raiders with a missile launcher might cheat him back because he is useful for keeping enemies occupied while I take em out but annoying when he runs into the fray.

 

Also visited Oasis, ha what a quest I felt like I was playing the Witcher!

Sydney goes to Underworld. If you want to know about an interesting related exploit ask about her, then when she mentions her father say "whatever happened to your father" and then say he didn't abandon her and you get another SMG. You can keep doing this infinitely, I took like 12 but I had no use for them so I decorated my house with guns.

 

And for God's sake people, load when you're followers die. I have such a reliable line of saves before me that I routinely murder Cross for no reason then the fun of it. Not that it would matter for me, I could stop fighting altogether and my army of followers would still probably win any battle. I put one is Tesla and the other in T-51b.

hey, thanks for the info on the gun glitch, I'm gonna have to try it.

 

I've played for roughly 40 hours, and the only NPCs I've found are Jericho and the one in underworld that you can kill someone and get, but I'm trying to keep my karma high on this play through, so that keeps me from getting them. I suppose I could just donate a bunch of money to the church for karma though, but I digress.

 

My main quest right now is to build all of the weapons. I have a couple, but only like five or six. I picked one schematic up off of a random dead scavenger for a deathclaw gauntlet, and it was by mere chance thaI even found it. I hate having to resort to using guides, but I think I'm gonna need to to find them all. I have been picking up every bit of useless junk to store at my house so that I can sit there and build everything

Just found out this is available for around £20 in game station (today only) and although I like the look of it like any games I’m quite picky about controls and whether you can change them should you wish. For example in COD 4 I changed to legacy as I’m more comfortable with it, so can anyone tell me what the controls are like?

Wow...I just did the initial GNR discovery battle. Goddamn that was a lot of mutants. It's a miracle I had so much ammo or I wouldn't have stood a chance. I burned through all my stimpaks, a good part of my ammo, and blew a bunch of mines/grenades. And the Behemoth! Scared the sh*t outta me when it barged through the cars, wrecking mayhem. I thought it was one of those Deathclaw things you guys have been talking about. When I heard the roar, I ran back into the school like a little bitch. Luckily, he got stuck behind a pole, and I took my time picking him off with weapon after weapon.

 

I'm in the station now and about to talk to Three Dog for the 1st time. I feel so victorious right now. I have substantial ammo, my money is slowly rising, and my armor is tuff. But I'm still trying to get to Underworld. I'm assuming the only way there is via the metro tunnels?

 

Oh, and there's quite a lot of glitches and bugs going on in this game. But I'm used to such things, so it's no real bother, but it's annoying when it interferes with the game. Buildings "vanishing", enemies "freezing", textures "jumping." Quite crappy.
