Can't believe its not for PS3. Thats so unfair. But saying that I am nowhere near finished the original content. I am taking it very slowly, I hardly do the main quests. Which is very unusual for me because I usually rush through them to find out what the story is and what happens. I just find it fascinating exploring the wasteland type of environment.

I would bitch about those bastards at Microsoft always snapping up exclusive DLC, but xbox owners do have to pay a monthly fee for their online gaming, so I guess it is fair in the long run. it would be nice if PS3 owners had the option of even paying more than xbox owners for the DLC. Is there any news on DLC for the PC?

I managed to play a friends copy the other day, this game is so great I can't believe I didn't just buy it myself instead of waiting until Christmas.

I can't find Big Town to save my life. I wanna get to it to activate the side quest. Does anyone know where it is? Better yet, does anyone have a map with the location of big town circled?

I'll get it for ya

North of Vault 101

Ah, thanks. I found it.

So I've beat all the side quests, and the only things I have left to do is go over to the Project Purity headquarters with the Brotherhood of Steel. I've gotta say, I thought this game would take a lot longer, but it's still a great game none the less.

That DLC sounds great.

I've been playing this game for the past 6 hours. It is damn entertaining, and far easier to pick up and adjust to than Oblivion. Which this game pretty much is, down to the conversation system with the outside world "freezing", and the way you sit down on chairs, etc. etc. It is the Oblivion engine with guns, but that's f*cking cool by me.

Much like Oblivion, this game is f*cking overwhelming. I wanna re-do the entire beginning. I killed the overseer while in the heat of the moment, not even waiting to listen in on the interrogation of Amata. I just charged into the room, iced the guard, and then beat down the overseer with a bat. I was tempted to kill Amata as well, but let her off. Afterwards, I just ran into Springvale, scavenged a bit, and went it Silver's house. I told her I'd tell Moriarty she was dead but the conversation never came up. What's up with that? I was going to kill her and take her nice looking sidearm, but said nah. After that, I hit the elementary school. What a way to get initiated into the combat system. Raider haven right there. I killed pretty much everyone, but I kept getting lost in there. I couldn't even find the damn library I got the key to, so I left in frustration. I got a sweet sawed-off shotgun in there, but I broke it in VATS like a dumbass. And it's way too pricey to repair.

Then I ran into Megaton, dicked around. I'm struggling to keep a decent amount of money. I don't know what to sell, what's worth something. I ended up getting the poor sheriff murdered, that sh*t shocked me, and I just killed Burke, right on the spot. f*ck it, I don't wanna blow up Megaton anyway. Then I disarmed the bomb, fixed the pipe leaks, got the house, unloaded some worthless Vault 101 stuff, and now I'm ready to just hit the wastes. I don't even want to pay Moriarty for the info on pops. I think I'm just going to explore the world for a while. Pick up some weapons, get my skills up.

Am I able to boost up my SPECIAL skills? It feels like I haven't since the very beginning. You can't right?

But yeah, my first impressions of this game are damn good. Fun game, and having figured out how to use the camera, I have no real issues with this one. Quite fun, quite huge. And I like the Sheriff's Chinese rifle, oh yeah...

Ha don I just came back from a similar start in the game, I tried the game on PS3 a few weeks ago and didn't like it due to the controls and how awful the game looked but I finally got the PC version and now I love it!

Its not really money that I am finding hard to keep up its ammo and while its frustrating it does give you the proper feeling of being a scavenger trying to survive. Also while foolishly trying to head for GNR or whatever radio I ran into a SuperMutant or rather I saw it and ran right out of the subway and back to Megaton!

The perk Intense Training lets you do that 10 times

Some bobble heads also increase a skill by 1

As for your money problems, and GTA3's ammo problems.. I have 15000+ Bottle caps and over 3000 5.56mm bullets devil.gif /brag

Oh yeah? I've got 23,648 caps, 3432 .556 rounds and over 18,000 5mm. tounge.gif This is after I've purchased every theme and accessory for the house, too. The Scrounger perk plus tons of exploring can make you rich. I've had so much ammo in the game that I've just sold it when I wanted caps. 250 missiles can equal a lot of scratch.

Oh, and I did the exact same thing by going to Springvale and taking on the elementary school raiders right out of the vault. It was a challenge to say the least.

I'm about to go another marathon run of the game, and I got a question. Is Sam Warrick an important character? Because I was leaving Megaton last night to do the Them! quest, and I only got a few feet before someone started taking shots at me. I was looking around for the culprit, when I saw a man who I thought to be a raider being chased by 3 mole rats. Ha, and I just followed far behind watching, when one of the rats turned and came after me. Ahem, a sawed-off shotgun at close range with VATS....I was blowing off Mole Rat heads left and right. After the big battle between me and like 5 of them, I ran ahead and saw a Sam Warrick's body. I figured he was the one shooting at me, and whether he was important to a quest, because he's dead now. I took his nice leather armor though and his weapon/accessories.

This game is quite fun. I loved the Super-Duper mart showdown. It took me a few loads to do it just right. But it's quite fun getting into big shootouts, although I don't like how accurate everyone is with their weapons, although I am playing on Hard. I crippled a female raider's leg in VATS, and then chased her down and killed her with a pool cue, was quite satisfying. And I picked up quite a lot of ammo in the process, and some nice rifles. Scavenging in this game is so much more fun than it was in Oblivion. I also got a wierd feeling I was playing Manhunt when I was sneaking around Springvale elementary while raiders were calling me a bitch and a f*cking coward. What's with all the F bombs in this game? It's as if Bethesda felt pissed about not using profanity in Oblivion and so they made up for it sevenfold in this game. I can't complain though, it just feels like I wrote the dialogue what with all the bad language.

Oh, and I just loved hearing Ron Pearlman, aka Hellboy, as the narrator. I didn't even recognize his voice from the commerical. "War....War never changes." And Liam Neeson, just awesome. And really, who didn't LOL at the birth scene when you customize your character and Dad says you look a lot like him? I just pictured someone making a black character and going, "What the f*ck...?" I also immediately recognized voice actors who did characters in Oblivion, especially the fellow who does Burke's voice.

Kickass game for sure. I feel like Judge Dread in my Vault 101 security armor and helmet, one-handing a sawed-off shotgun. So far I've faced Raiders, Mole Rats, and Worker Ants. That's it. But those Yao Gui whatever the hells sound scary, radiated versions of black bears, what? I do love being able to just run around without constantly being attacked by creatures every 10 seconds like I was in Oblivion.

EDIT: OH! and a quick question. Anyone else having a problem getting haircuts from Wadsworth in Megaton? I go to get a cut, and my character's face dissapears from the display so I can't even see how certain styles look on him. This is quite a sh*tty glitch.

Warrick isn't important, although I'm pretty sure he is enslavable. He is always hostile so don't feel bad about him being dead. He's what is known as a random encounter, there are certain spots that always have some random event happen if you go near. I saw Sam Warrick out by some ruins and I killed him, I thought he might have been important and I loaded a previous save. I went to the same spot but was instead attacked by Talon Company, which sucks because Sam has nice shades on. So currently Sam is alive in my game, and I will be turning him into a slave.

Here is more information on the random Encounter.

I've also had the haircut glitch, haven't found a fix yet.

I only get the haircut glitch if I talk to him when I'm up on the stairs. When I'm face to face with him, it works.

Anyhow, if it still doesn't work for you, the ghoulie in underworld with the nice suit and hairdo will also cut yours for free.

Yeah, Butch will cut your hair, too. He shows up at the Muddy Rudder after the Trouble on the Homefront quest if you opened or sabotaged the vault. I've had the same thing happen with him and the Underworld guy too, though. Seems a random thing in my game. The facial reconstruction guy in the Broken Bow at Rivet City has the same glitch for me, too.

And on the subject of voice actors, Malcom f*cking McDowell.

Talon Company are hostiles?

Because they have a building near the town where the fire ants are running rampant. I was going to enter it, but I was afraid being that I had little ammo.

Oh, and I'm stuck on the fire ant mission. I've scoured all of the metro station and can't find the "source." Although I did get the 'naughty nighwear' and talked Lugnut down from attacking. Now he just wanders the station. I also found the Ripper in the station, awesome melee weapon. Especially against those bastard ants who make great opponents. It took a lot of me getting burned before I discovered the use of Fire Ant nectar, and then whipped out my sledgehammer and started squishing the bugs rather than pissing away valuable ammo. It felt like I was in a really cheesy Sci-Fi movie, killing bugs in a train station with construction equipment. And the ripper is a great one-handed chainsaw.

I'm about to do the Minefield quest for Moira. I need some cash.

Edit: And lately, the haircut glitch has ceased occuring. Didn't matter anyway, I like my Terasaur mohawk.

Has anyone had the game glitch where when you jump for some reason your weapon goes off and the same after you finish talking to someone resulting in you shooting whoever you talked to in the face? I was trying to tell Lucas Simms about Burke Wanting you to Blow up the Bomb but end up shooting him the face! tounge.gif

I'll restart the game and see what happens, it happened after I had Killed Burke and accidently got into the Megaton Armory and pissed off the robot so I loaded the last save which was just before informing Lucas Simms about Burke. Weird!

I ran into my first encounter with Super-Mutants yesterday, was quite extreme. I left Marigold station, still searching for the source of the Fire Ants which I still haven't found, and came out at All Falls station. I walked right into a Paladin, Super-Mutant shootout. I saw a dead female raider near a table of ammo, so I scavenged all her sh*t and the ammo. Then, I took it upon myself to join the fight. I ended up killing 2 super-mutants, and only on level 3 I believe. I was right proud of myself. I used a rifle and just VATS blasted them to kingdom come.

I took some Paladin armor off a dead soldier but it wouldn't let me equip it because I wasn't trained in power armor. Plus I was over-encumbered, so I just left it behind. Lame...

I'm now about to talk to The Mechanist. Heh...

You walked in for the first time in Megaton and he was dead? Or did you save megaton and betray Burke before? Because if so, Burke can send assassins after you and Lucas.

I'm currently trying to finish the game 100 percent. I have a couple of bobbleheads left to find, an I don't think that many side quests. I found the MIRV prototype. My reaction when I saw what it did was Omgwtfawesomelolsh*tjesuschrist. icon14.gif

Yeah, that MIRV is pretty badass. I've got a surplus of mini nukes, so was able to get three quick shots off from the balcony of Tenpenny Tower. The boom was big.

Does anyone have a definite total number of locations? I've heard 161, but I'm at 157 now and feel like I've been pretty much everywhere. I'm trying to avoid looking at a map because discovery is more fun for me. Any help would be great.

I saved Megaton but never even spoke to Burke. I suppose it must have been assassins. I was just after finishing the Blood Ties quest.

I'm currently doing the research for the last chapter of Moira's book.

During the segment with mole rats in Tepid Sewers, I stumbled onto a little raider enclave. I picked up a whole bunch of enemy mines, sweet, and got my hands on my first Combat Shotgun, super sweet. After some repairs, I think it's up to 35 Damage and is ideal for blowing off heads. It's second in damage to my 37 Chinese Assault Rifle.

I also rescued Red and Shorty from the Germantown Police HQ. That was a pretty intense scene. Beforehand, I ran into 2 supermutants on my right and 2 protector robot things on my far left. The 2 mutants had a minigun and a missile launcher between the two of them, f*cking insane. Epic showdown later with me VATS blasting the minigun out of the one mutant's hands and then killing the other mutant with a few shots to the back when he turned around to fight the robots, and I added 2 new awesome weapons to arsenal. Of course I was over-encumbered, so I had to drop some stuff, go to Megaton to unload, and then come back and pick up my gear. But I was totally ready for the assault on the HQ. Psycho injections and my Combat Shotgun made an incredible combo. I was even cornered in a bathroom with a Brute and a Master(?) Supermutant and managed to kill them both. That was intense.

This game delivers so many great moments, I wanna type up everything I do, but that'd be too much. Anyone else wearing the AntAgonizer's helmet? I am, after I decapitated her with a sawed-off shotgun blast to the face. Heh.

Land Of Confusion

Just found an awesome way to get the ripper straight out of the vault. Go straight to megaton, get the location of tenpenny tower from Mr. Burke, then head over there and get in with either speech or a 100 cap fee. Turn right immediatly past the gate, and check the lockers that are for the guards. Free ripper if you're stealthy about it.

Does anyone know where to find The Family, I've checked to the best of my knowledge the Moonbeam Cinema, Hamilton's Hideout and the Station yet nothing

I also bagged my first SuperMutant, I was in Megaton and fast travelled to the Moonbeam Drive-In near the Baseball field and as soon as I appeared there it was standing right in front of me. A hunting rifle to the head was all it took, I am only lvl 4 or 5 I think so yeah they aren't so bad really.
