Dubai would be great for GTA, it's never been done before and looks amazing.

What do you think about having Dubai in the next GTA?

Dubai not well known enough???? WHA??? What rock have you been sleeping under.

Dubai is the first good idea I've heard for an outside the U.S. GTA.

If it matters, I am white and live in Canada.

It looks nice sure but I just can't picture it, as far as the story and missions go not to mention the humor and all that Rockstar satire that doesn't quite work outside the Western world at least.

Yeah, I know what you're saying, but I think it would be amazing. Since you would expect something like New York or Miami, but not Dubai. Also no ones ever done it in a videogame.

It's to rich there,

There's no need for crime there because everyone already has millions.

It wouldn't really work.

It would be a cool setting though.

And Rockstar would have to be careful about the appearance of muslims in the game.

Rockstar do have a reputation for upset.

Yeah I agree, but I think it would be very weird to have Dubai in the next GTA too. sneaky2.gif

Actually, only the elite there is rich. My grandfather's brother lives there, he is a architect for the upper class etc and I'd call that the elite.

Everyone(the working class, etc. ) else is at the poverty level.

What good would Dubai be? They may as well call it Grand Theft Camels. The city is very modern and has no atmosphere or charachter. You will proberly get a mission were you have to steal some guys goat in a cave in the dessert, also were would the humour be in Dubai, if Rockstar did Dubai, and took fun out of Muslim culture, expect f*cking riots in the streets, and fires out side the Rockstar office buildings! Im sorry if people find that offensive, but im only being honest here.

How many Dubai topics have there been, like 12? Before you even open a topic about such a country, honestly think why Rockstar wouldn't do it!

Rockstar do have a reputation for upset.

In places like Dubai and Lebannon there are people who call themselves Muslim, and then they have a beer. So they're not really Muslim, just Arabic. They could make you be some Arabic guy, that would be interesting. But there shouldn't be any type of religious hate missions, or anything offensive to Muslims. I don't think Rockstar would go that far.

EDIT: Just becuase there is camels in Arabic places doesn't mean they are EVERYWHERE.

Maybe, but what would Rockstar do with it? Everyone would be rich but the police, who would be poor and have terrible guns.

People....honestly GTA Dubai would never work for these reasons:

1-As far as I remember there aren't any gangs in Dubai

2-In Dubai...no in all of the UAE the crime rate is very very low and the only crimes there are speeding or very rarely prostitution. blush.gif

Now for some realities:

Not all the people in there rich and none is in poverty and you can never find camels or goats there but instead pink looking tourists and more tourists. orly.gif

I don't think GTA Dubai would work. I think Rockstar is going to make an Asian country something like Tokyo or the character would be Asian with a some martial arts because a lot of people complained about the combat system in GTA IV. devil.gif

So I think you should stop dreaming about it......there is a big chance that San Andreas Stories would be next suicidal.gif YA DIG!!!!!!!??????? we still don't know what happened to Brain (CJ's brother) or what did Sweet do when CJ left 5 years ago dozingoff.gif

DUBAI WOULD NEVER BE A PLACE TO HOST GTA . I KNOW BECAUSE I LIVE 100KM AWAY FROM THAT CITY. sly.gif

I think Dubai is fast becoming the city of modern times but as far as I'm aware it doesn't yet emanate culture globally e.g. New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Milan & London, etc. - are global trendsetters in fashion, music, literature, film, underground club scene, etc to varying degrees in each. I hope Dubai's scenes/cultures do become prominent on a global stage particularly in the area of financial markets but these are formative years.

Dubai is not presently as culturally relevant to the west as it might be in a decade's time say. Hollywood is yet to sink it's teeth into it. San Francisco is probably as "safe" a city as Dubai, so i'd say artistic licence and relevance are more important. The Muslim thing is a touchy issue like say using Washington D.C. as a setting, or the 911 effect. I think they would heavily fictionalize it, maybe place it in the near-future if they were to do it.

It could possibly play out like Vice City - beaches, golf courses, real estate, setting up businesses like Cab companies, Used Autos, Print Works, etc using "western" methods.
