Compared to all games: 9/10 Compared to other GTAs 8/10 I liked it a lot when I got it but I literally haven't picked it up since I beat it about a month ago. Just make it calculate better next time, nothing to kill yourself over, just a little misleading. Anyways: 1. RAGE: 10/10 2. Euphoria: 10/10 3. Graphics: 9.5/10 (Good graphics, but not as good as some of the other games on seventh generation consoles. You can also notice the graphics on peds. faces with a sniper, their teeth are a bit weird and their eyes don't look too real. However, the graphics are pretty damn good IMO.) 4. Detail: 9.5 (More open space and enterable interiors would be gold, but very nice looking city.) 5. Replayability: 8/10 (The strongest part is doing the other ending, that's basically it.) 6. Map size: 9.5/10 (Not as big as SA, IV's LC is 3/4 the size, still huge) 7. Audio: 10/10 (Blends in just about perfectly.) 8. Humour: 10/10 (Comparing to other games, this game still dominates.) 9. Phone/Internet/TV: 10/10 (I agree they have some flaws, but they are very new in the GTA series, and they are very interesting sometimes. The only time TV was available to be use before GTA IV in the GTA series was probably GTA VCS which you got a cutscene replayer for 100%) 10. Glitch Funness: 10/10 (Swing of Death dominates practically any other glitch in the GTA series other than the Gym Glitch in SA which could be used to get into interiors removed from the game or only available during missions.) 11. Draw Distance: 10/10 12. Texture Loading: 9.9/10 (Ocassional stall, but usually very prestine.) 13. Blind Shooting/Aiming System/Drive-By Aiming: 9.5/10 (Some flaws, but a very important new feature.) 14. REDSKYYY Posted July 7, 2008 Share Posted July 7, 2008 My first day of playing the game, i gave it a 10/10. on the meer fact that i only played it for a limited time, much like big name reviewers, since they only had the 15 minute demo to observe and rate the game. now that i have many hours of gameplay under my belt and have fully explored the city, i would change my score to a final of 8.5/10 aside from the graphics, im not seeing much worth a higher score, everything has already been done before. music soundtrack 4/10 gets worse every game, nothing will beat vice cities. amusment level 6/10 i can only stay amused with the game for an hour or so. physics 10/10 so yeah 8.5/10 for me Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It isn't like GTA IV competes with COD4 and MGS4 only. There are other games also. And GTA IV simply isn't the best game of all times. The storyline, voice acting, and graphics are great. Though I have yet to "bad mouth" the game since it has been released, I will admit that it can use some improvement. Yes, there are some things missing, but I think alot of people are judging it by such high standards because they don't stop to look at how good it really is. Even though it's a new system, playing some of the previous 3D GTAs. even SA, look really dated next to this. History has showed us that it always takes developers a couple of years to really get the best out of a new piece of hardware - the first few PS2/Xbox games were nowhere near as impressive as the later ones, and the same is gonna be the case here. Alot of people cite that it's lost it's 'GTA feel' and by that they basically mean the cartoony semi-realism of the old games. This is setting the platform for a whole new generation of gaming. Where everything is realistic. The day of games with that obviously animated quirky kinda fun has passed. I couldn't give it a 10 out of 10, because yes there are some shortcomings, and even though I'm addicted to the online mode, it's not that well designed.
