GTA Vice is the most popular choice because of sane reasons. And there is still quite alot of story people want to see continued.

Liberty City was at the least of our choices. If you were here then you should know that London was the most popular choice. The only people that didn't like it were stereotypical fags and people who hated The Getaway. sigh.gifrolleyes.gif

r ppl dat dont like england

And most of the people "dat dont like england" talked like you. And that's why they're never taken seriously.

If it is going to be Vice City again, I really wish I hadn't bothered with Vice City Stories, because Vice City would have seemed so fresh maybe 8+ years later. I can understand some people who ignored the stories games wanting to go back to Vice City in HD because it's been a long time for them personally.

However, If they keep on rehashing the same three locations over and over again, thou, I'm never going to bother with these little side games ever again.

Edit: VCS has possibly ruined the whole experience of returning to vice city.

It should take place in America during a period when the past characters Tommy, CJ and Toni are still alive.

Maybe between 1990-1991.

I doubt we will ever see any GTA III-era characters returning, ever.

You do realise that it'll be a totally different Vice City, if we do return to it, that is? And I'm pretty sure Houser said they only re-did LC because they felt that GTA 3 didn't do it justice. I doubt we'll see another remade location again.

We all know what is going to happen because of this thread. But I'll hum to the tune too anyway. I say London. I can be 95.66% of this. Or at least outside of the US.

Also, I don't see why Vice City is the most popular choice. Didn't Dan/Sam Houser say that returning to an old city was a one-off?

Like yall said with GTA IV? *Yawn*

The classic "defense" of GTA London 2.0 "You don't like it so you must be racist or gay or some crap!!!11!!one!!"

Aint buying your crap...

VC and VCS were during the 80s And last time I checked it is 2008. So there is a large amount of era that has not been done yet.

There is nothing "Ruined" by playing GTA VCS in my view.

I actually had a lot more feeling towards 80's when playing VCS rather than VC. It's soundtrack just fitted 80's, it's atmosphere, and all, what the magical 80's should be, VC made me feel like it's modern time.

Obviously it wouldn't be the same vice city that would be hella lazy, but it will have all the same areas and buildings/landmarks taken from real life included in the last rendition of vice city. e.g. Ocean Drive (The Colony Hotel, Beacon Hotel, Clevelander, etc), Star Island, etc. Derivatives of The Malibu Club, etc. Been there done that. Miami isn't that large, Vice City 1986 just nailed South Beach & the atmosphere, There's just no need to do it again because it will only bring diminishing returns. Especially set in the present.

Obviously you have little idea about Miami. Please keep in mind things are far different there than the 80s

It will not bring diminishing returns. Just like GTA IV diddn't. Your argument like those of the GTA Londoners has failed.

Oh and keep in mind its not about graphics (OMG Same location!, The map looks the same 1111) Its gameplay. VCS took Vice and made it better. IV made liberty better.

I've been to Miami about 3 years ago, only for just over a week or so and then I headed over to the keys, I don't claim to be an expert but I know a lil' bit about Miami. I'm not saying Vice City was the perfect game, but I feel it is as good a depiction of the character of the city as any video game developer is likely to capture. Sure the next recreation will be a much more accurate and faithful depiction, but in reality, it's nowhere near as fun as the wacky overblown stylization or caricature of Miami, that makes it so alluring.

There's plenty of great cities in the United States without having to resort to constantly repeating the same cities. Even Disneyland isn't as fun the fourth? time. It's like mild torture. Washington, D.C. or Chicago FTW!

Going to other cities is a risk. You have to have new storylines and characters with almost nothing to base them on.

Do you think with this economy and with EA knocking on the door they can afford to try another San Andreas like risk? Making GTA IV like games is expensive and difficult enough without going to another city.

Another VC will sell. And sell well. That along with the ability to continue the storylines from VC and VCS is good enough reason to "Ride Out the Storm" with another Vice in 2009 along with a PSP game.

You want your London or Carcer city or whatever start thinking 2011 and next gen.

Rockstar North are reportedly working on an all new franchise said to be taking advantage of Blu-ray technology. That sounds risky as hell to me.

Not really. Companies go in side routes all the time. They are not risking the cash cow. More than likely it will not nearly be as expensive to produce as a modern GTA game.

Don't grasp at straws.

I really hope GTA ain't going Sony-exclusive, because it'll f*ck everything up. I am really starting to hate exclusives. Let 'em make whatever they want exclusive BUT not GTA. There's a big risk of all that sony-exclusive crap going on.

Point noted... but nobody knows anything about it. If they are seriously dead set on developing an other major AAA franchise other than GTA, reportably eating up a Blu-ray disk, that's going to going to be a major project that everybody in the company is going to be getting behind. Not just developing, but establishing a new franchise in the market is going to be seriously costly.

GTA is not going exclusive unless the PS4 or Xbox 720 manage to completely dominate the other.

It is not that difficult to fill a blu ray disc. And not that costly to establish a franchise.

Its doing it efficiently that counts.

For all we know it could be a new racing game.

Yeah, that ship has sailed. Third party exclusives in general are dying out. FF XIII, Assassin's Creed, DMC4, Bioshock, etc.

This Zachster handles a tool.

Rockstar churning out formula releases of the same, derivative, old sh't will damage the series in the end. GTA's turning into Madden.

I disagree just for the fact that SA wasnt all that long ago. If they did your idea maybe in another ten years time, i think it would be a great idea, but as for now there are more new places to create.

I don't think anyone's said this yet... But what about GTAIV:2 set in Liberty City. tounge.gif It would be just a sequel. That's something that hasn't been done before in GTA.

No more Liberty City, I don't want that piece of sh*t ever used in GTA anymore. R* - go and take your "NY vibe" bullcrap somewhere else.
