But I think realistically it will be Vice City.

I would buy it if it would take place in SA because to me it's a story that needs to be re-told, or add to it.

To all the people saying 'London' or 'Europe' seem to be forgetting GTA isnt just about crime. The whole point of GTA is Rockstar taking the p*ss out of American culture. This is how us brits see America, albeit a bit exaggerated. That's how its been since GTA1. Being able to just walk into a shop and buy a gun is something we find absurd. I always laugh hard when I hear the Ammunation adverts. I don't believe that all the Americans playing GTA don't realise the joke's on them. Of course after GTA3 we have more in depth storyline and they can joke about the specific eras/places etc. but still the whole basis is there.

 

I think GTA should stay in America. Whether or not they should do Vice City I don't know. As I said GTAs tend to be set in very iconic eras/places, and Miami in the 80s is just that. A modern day version of Vice City wouldn't be as good. At any rate, somewhere tropical like Hawaii or Cuba would be good.

i got shot one time in Detroit, so i'm goin back home after a surgery, but i still want to get shot again... LOL ( it just felt like that i'm in a real gta world )

I wouldn't really mind, the important thing is that they really portray the 'feel' of the place, as they always have done. I think a great location and the one I'd choose would have to be Hawaii. I'm not just talking about the one Island, you could have all of them. Imagine it, with the tropical climate, the ghetto areas of O'ahu, it would be great. Nice beaches, you would have great potential for the use of boats, helicopters and private jets, whilst still in keeping with the realism factor.

The best setting for GTA would either be in Chicago or London in the 1970's. I think we've all thought about 70's GTA after seeing all those classic crime films from that era. I mean just imagine it with the cars, and the clothing, and just the nostalgia of the whole thing, I think it'd really be great.

Here is a vid of the intro to underbelly, people from outside australia may not know about it. This tv show is banned in victoria, because they think it will not give the people a fair trial. I can just see it being good for a gta game.

Just to give everyone an idea of what it could be like if it was set in that situation. I can really see it going well into a gta game.

Regardless of whether another visit to the state of San Andreas is in the future, I doubt that we will see another story in the GTA3 canon.

Modern Vice City would be great IMHO. I mean, I would like to see VC resembling Miami shown in Michael Mann's Miami Vice. Tough, full of neon and memories of golden 80's. Something like "Vice City isn't the same anymore"

I disagree with a new Grand Theft Auto game moving back to Vice City its the same old storyline:a guy has problems, gets ambushed and shortly after trys to make a name for himself. dont get me wrong i love the Grand Theft Auto games but make a newer game based in canada or sumthing and a character that ends up getting screwed over by the whole city or sumthing

San Andreas! They really have to put the real stuff in to LA SF LV cause it would look nice but they have to have diffrent names tho. It would be kool jumping of Stratosphere in Vegas and Sky Dive and the cops would be chasing you! SA PEOPLE!

This thread/poll is focused on the location of the next GTA (the follow-up to IV). If Rockstar does make SAS, there's not much question about where that will take place.
