I'm surprised to see people mentioning Houston in several threads. Apart from Chicago I can't think of a city that hasn't been done GTA-style that would be a better choice if to go somewhere else in the US.

Well, a lot of fun could be had on these freeways....I always wanted to drive a monster truck through this!

It's a spread-out city which means it can be one game map and still have the illusion of being big. There could be a beach put nearby as it's not far from the coast.

I think given a dark, GTA3-style tone it would be really cool. There's loads of criminal storyline and satire material in Texas.

I bet it'll be in a re-made Vice City, even though I hope for a Midwest GTA with Chicago, St. Louis, and Detroit in it.

Same here, I would love to see a GTA based on the Midwest. Specially Chicago, or this one along with Detroit.

I'd like to see a Southern GTA with areas like Miami, Atlanta, Austin, New Orleans, and even Chihuahua, Meixco!

Why not Liberty City again?

That would get very stale and old.

I'd like to see a city in the south like Atlanta, Houston or New Orleans.

Why Liberty City again?

I figure it's only a matter of time before it returns in the series anyway.

I think London set in the 60's would be a real trip. Or even somewhere in America in the late 60s-early 70s. I think that it needs something new and taking a trip back in time and doing this time period would be awesome with as much pop culture things they could reference.

If they expanded VC (i.e. include other Floridian cities like Orlando), it would be really good. I mean, the new physics/graphics would be great with VC.

San Andreas, Vice City and Liberty City.

Same here. I would love to see the next GTA finally let you visit all three cities. I don't care which era, although personally I'd like to see them go back to the late 80s or early 90s.

New Europe! It's like New England, but in GTA Form. It's not a city, not a state, but multiple states!

You start out in A Massachusetts-like area (Including Boston and Rural areas), but you can't progress due to a Tunnel Being Unfinished (Like the Big Dig), later, it gets finished, and you can progress through a long countryside area (NH and Vermont), and finally reach a fishing area (Maine).

Connecticut and Rhode Island are Omitted because they're too small.

I think they should keep the pattern going and recreate the remaining 2 cities/states.

It should be SA style with multiple states to drive/ fly between, London has got to be due for the GTA treatment even if it's jus a visit there like Liberty city in SA

GTA: London 1969. Think "Get Carter" mixed with an R* original flavor, juxtaposed with "Austin Powers" visual imagery & humor. Not some bland corny generic getaway/guy ritchie ritch-esqe "modern" bullsh*t. Set in the golden age of the city, in it's prime, much like miami in the 80's, chicago in the 20's, or L.A. in the 90's; when it lead the world culturally. British Invasion/american counter-culture on the radio, psychedelic fashion, classic cars, etc.

GTA 3: Sopranos (00's)

Vice City: Scarface/Miami Vice (80's)

San Andreas: Boyz N the Hood/Menace II Society (90's)

GTA 4: An R* Original

GTA 4: London 1969 - a perfect combination of R* original creativity drawn from the inspiration of classic cinema to more fully capture the feel and essence of the place & the era in time in R* style. Similar to what Vice City circa 1986 did, only for a more mature (if not same) audience this time. Many were apprehensive about VC back then, because it took you far out of your comfort zone and introduced you to a somewhat strange alternate reality, but that's what made it so interesting to explore on many levels and culturally relevant today. You felt like you lived that culture and eventually came to understand that cultural vibe to some extent. Because it would be so alien to a lot of people, it would be an experience in gaming like Vice City was which converted a lot of detractors because of the rave reviews and buzz around it. You've got to take risks, who wants LC-VC-SA forever?

If Vice City's in the DLC i'll be happy but it wont be!

Maybe Belfast during the 70's? It was mentioned by Derrick...

IMO: I hope its not in Asia or elsewhere in Europe!

The Midwest would just show that R* is copying Saints Row!

It would rock but it would get kinda predictable.

Of course R* aren't going to develop an entire city for downloadable content. First of all it would take upwards of 2 years+ (at the same level of detail and surface area), Secondly cost a fortune to make in relation to any potential revenue even taking into account the 50mil loan, thirdly what an absolute waste of potential for what could be full blown game & leaving out 2/3 of the audience (PS3/PC users).

There's more than enough scope left in Liberty City to create two ten hour mission packs by including interiors and new buildings like Liberty City Stories.

Yeah I suppose ur right! It wouldnt be Vice without a storyline. They wont include more interiors/buildings just missions and the odd vehicle! Dont get ur hopes up buddy! It'll only be a few more simple missions for us to do at an extortionate price ~1200 MS pts! confused.gif

Where'd Singapore come from? Lol. Vice City for the win.

But I'd like something like...

One character in Vice City, one in Tokyo or something like that. Then you switch back and forth like playing it out in "Acts." Then the storyline intertwines. I think that would be good.

You know, thinking more about it, I think Hawai'i would be a great location. It is a natural island archipelago, has great atmosphere, and there are plenty of movies/tv shows that have been set there by which to be inspired.

Besides, it's still in America and thus the satire can continue properly.
