Dallas sure did sh*t all over Clevelands parade yesterday. biggrin.gif

anyone see the Carolina game? Those last two minutes were pretty epic.

Never knew you watched football. biggrin.gif You should join the Pick 'em on the front page if you watch it regularly.

Anyone surprised how well Rodgers is playing at the moment? Doing pretty well.

Looks like Minnesota gives up a costly INT for the Pack to secure a victory. It looks like the NFC is going to have one hell of a season.

Whoa. Never seen this topic before.

Haven't watched NFL in quite a while but i did hear about Brady. Sucks for the Pats. I dont think they'll get to the playoffs this year.

I dispise Brady quite a bit. I cant believe he was sacked 5 times in the actual Superbowl game and he was only sacked 4 times in the regular season.

The look on his face just made it seem he was barely trying to avoid the blitzes at all.

Can anyone tell me which team Dante Hall plays for these days?

Back when i used to watch it in 05, he was a magnificent KRer and WRer. Videos of his greatest touchdowns on YouTube are fantastic as well.

Caught the Green bay game last night, wooooo go cheeseheads!!!! who needs bret farve when youve got Double A Rodgers playing like he did.(just my little nickname for him lol) really impressed by him, didnt think he could step into shoes as big as farve but he did well and i hope it continues.

Good to see that farve had a good start to tho. i hope the best for him and hope to catch him in the superbowl (wow that would be a blow for packers fans lol)

and it is a damn shame from brady, is he really out for the season??? that sucks, i really like watching him play

He plays for the Rams now. if you want to see a good KR, then watch Devin Hester. The man is fast as hell, and elusive as ever.

Honestly, No. I just have a feeling about Aaron Rodgers that he is gonna do something great in his career. I have the same feeling when i watch Matt Ryan play. I dont know what it is for sure. Sure was a great game for his debut. His first TD as a starter was a great play by Rodgers plus he won the game which is the main thing, so for the pack its so good so far without Favre.

I didn't expect Rodgers to do that badly neither. He was never that bad a QB he just never got the chance to really get his feet wet. They kept Favre in even when he was making a lot of mistakes, and they let him play when he was injured. They're lucky that Rodgers was so patient with the Packers and didn't ask for a trade. They could have ended up with a much worse QB, or hey, they could have ended up with someone better. It's all dependent on the situation.

Jaguars Sacked him in the playoffs last season colgate.gif

(10:43) (Shotgun) 12-T.Brady sacked at NE 22 for -4 yards (98-J.Henderson).

he was sacked just once, on the Patriots' first offensive play.

i think as the season progresses and Jones gets some more carries then their running game will cause a lot of trouble for defences.

I agree. Marion "The Barbarian" is as physical a running back as the league has seen since Jerome Bettis. He flat out punishes opposing D's, pretty much rendering them useless in the fourth quarter(for the most part). And once speedy Felix Jones get a few more regular season snaps under his belt, he should compliment Barber very well.

It's clear though, that the catalyst for their success in the run game is their offensive line, which is clearly top three in the NFL. Left tackle Flozell Adams has returned to form over the last year, Andre Gurode has developed into a top tier center and Leonard Davis proved us all wrong that he couldn't hack it as a premier lineman(although he still isn't worth 50 million they gave him, he plays guard for God's sake!). Throw in Jason Witten, who's good blocking is ofter overshadowed by his receiving skills...and you've got a massive unit who gets a major initial push off the line of scrimmage. I think this unit is built to run the ball efficiently deep into the playoffs.

The Cowboys have the one of if not the biggest lines in the NFL. Did you see how much time Romo has back there on average these days? And yes Marion is a damn Barbarian, he runs like a mad man, and if you don't know how to break doan and tackle, the man will wipe the number clean off your jersey.

Marion is a great HB but i prefer LeDainian Tomlinson. He's a f*cking machine.

Great at breaking tackles and is so hard to bring down.

He plays for the Rams now

Thanks for that.

And, i'll look up this Devin fellow on YT as well.

Cheers.

looks like the Titans have signed Simms, the Pats will more than likely start with Cassel this week which is the smartest move. the guy should know the offence inside out by now and did not too bad when he was called in last week. hopefully this game's on tv in the UK, Jets/Pats is always a good fixture but with the improvements the jets have made and the loss of Brady i think this could be a very even contest.

and you're right, let's not forget the fact that they still have, no matter what you think of him, one of the best coaches in the league who could probably gameplan to make his loss of a HoF QB an advantage.

I don't know if you guys have heard or not, but Chargers linebacker Shawn Merriman is out for the rest of the season. Damn, big loss for that Chargers defense.

Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman gave it his best effort, but his body told him it was time to shut it down.

Two days after enduring a full four quarters of NFL football, Merriman informed the Chargers that he’s decided to have surgery on his left knee and miss the remainder of the season.

“Shawne informed me he did not feel right (on the field) and thought it best to shut it down,” said Chargers General Manager A.J. Smith.  “The road to winning the AFC West just got more difficult, but not impossible.  Nothing is impossible.  Shawne is a great player and an inspirational leader.  He will be missed.  We wish him a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.”

Merriman declined comment Tuesday afternoon, although he did tell Chargers.com that he has yet to decide when he’ll have the operation or who will perform it.

During training camp, Merriman took a well-publicized week away from Chargers Park to visit specialists in hopes of finding a way to play in spite of his injured left knee. Merriman informed the media that he had a torn posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) and lateral collateral ligament (LCL), but his desire was to play.

In Sunday’s loss to Carolina, Chargers coaches credited Merriman with four tackles and two quarterback hits. The Panthers paid Merriman the attention he typically receives, and during his Monday press conference, Head Coach Norv Turner gave a positive review of his performance.

“He looked very physical,” Turner said. “I thought he was explosive and very physical. They thought he was too, they doubled him a great deal of the time, when they had a back on him, they cut him which teams do to a good pass rusher. They were very aware of where he was and I thought he was very explosive.”

Merriman will be placed on “Reserve-Injured” on Wednesday. Jyles Tucker is expected to replace him in the starting lineup, while it has not been announced who will take Merriman’s place on the 53-man roster.

In other Chargers news, the club released Cory Withrow after reaching an injury settlement with the veteran center. Withrow was placed on “Reserve-Injured” last Monday due to a hamstring injury.

It's about time, and I'm not surprised at all. I was expecting two things to happen to him during the season, either he would realize that his knee would not hold up and he would shut it down or he would cause more damage to his knee and ultimately end his career; obviously he went with the former. Best thing for him to do.

Yep, and I am currently reading on Yahoo that he he'll possibly end up paying 4 million bucks just for his new last name to be on the jersey. Check it out:

It'll cost mucho dinero for Chad Ocho Cinco to switch jerseys

By Chris Chase

Don't expect to see Chad Johnson Ocho Cinco wearing his new name on a jersey anytime soon. CNBC's Darren Rovell reports on his blog that the former Mr. Johnson would be forced to buy out the stock of the 100,000 remaining "C. Johnson" jerseys before making the switch to "Ocho Cinco". If Reebok asked Ocho Cinco to pay for the cost of making the unsold jerseys, the total could reach upwards of $4 million (or $50 million pesos).

Because Johnson changed his name so close to the start of the season, Reebok was left in a bind since they'd have to produce new jerseys and eat the old ones. That's why the NFL has told Johnson he'd have to reimburse the company for the price of the jerseys. That's not unprecedented, rookie linebacker Keith Rivers did it last week when he changed his uniform number. Of course, Rivers didn't have thousands of jerseys with his name on it on sales racks nationwide.

This whole charade, of course, is pretty ridiculous. It's tough to defend Johnson, as he's so narcissistic that he makes T.O. look like Mother Teresa. And the NFL is so blatant in their attempts to block Johnson from donning his new name on the back of his Bengals jersey that it almost seems beneath them. Sure, it's inane and self-serving and could set a bad precedent, but shouldn't the league be focusing on more important issues, like stopping players from celebrating touchdowns?

Pretty crazy, but Mr. Ocho Cinco has the money for it lol. Here's a link to another pic:

I wonder how long before the season started that Ocho Cinco decided to change his name, 'cos that could've saved him millions.

And i heard about Shawn earlier in the week.

That really sucks for the Chargers. Their defence will be considerably weaker now.

I don't think you know the full story to the reasoning of his name change. Last year, he wore Ocho Cinco on his back, which means 85 in spanish(Being his jersey number of course). The league fined him a neaty penny($5,000). So early August, late July, he wanted to change his name to Ocho Cinco so he won't be fined. In order for him to legible to wear Ocho Cinco on his game jersey, he has to buy out what Reebok made of his old jersey(C. Johnson).

Cleared it up for you? biggrin.gif

Thats rather strange.

His last name from Johnson to Ocho Cinco, which it is but the thing is, the NFL won't allow him to wear Ocho Cinco on his jersey. Until he either buys out the remaining Johnson jersey's from Reebok or has to to keep Johnson(NFL only, Ocho Cinco is officially his last name).

Shame to see something like this happening to a pretty young guy and the start of his career. I hope he sorts out what he needs to and come back, because the last thing i want to see again is another Ricky Williams saga. Hey they both played at Texas maybe theres a link notify.gif

If he buys the rest now then yes he can wear his new name, and they might start producing the Ocho Cinco ones. Next season he probably won't have to buy them, but I doubt anyone will buy those jerseys anyway.

I think he should buy them, because if he can get a cut of the Ocho Cinco jerseys then he'll be rolling in cash. Think about how many people will buy that jersey when it comes out.
