I guess it's because they're 28th in total defense, 18th in passing defense after having one of the best pass defenses last season, and 30th in run defense. Oakland is going through some tough times and needs somebody who can actually clean it up, not do what Al Davis does and try to get the big name. McFadden really was a bad choice for them because they had other immediate needs for that team, McFadden was only drafted because Al Davis likes superstars. Many teams want those two so the two teams that draft them are most likely going to be prety bad this season giving them a high spot in the draft. Yes but then you have to look at the money they paid them because that tells you how much of a salary cap penalty they're going to face after terminating their contracts. I think that's the way it works. So if the season is a wash anyway for them, then it might put them in a position clear some cap and sign a FA over the offseason. Besides, Hall has struggled of late, and he only has the INT's that he has because no one wants to throw at Asomogha. Walker is a f*cking deadbeat too, he's been horrendous this year. I kinda think this will be a good move for them. @ILAK, what the hell ever happened to Michael Huff? Three years back when he came out of Texas he was allegedly a lock to be a perennial All Pro and the best safety this side of Ronnie Lott. The Jets are just hammering the Rams, badly. If you are a Rams fan, I feel sorry for you. They turned the ball over like 5 times in the first half, and the Jets are just killing them, 40-0, and all of those 40 points scored by the Jets were scored in the first half of the game. Damn.
