Disapointed by population

Recommended Posts

Any one else lived in time square or actully live there?Or visited there?

ITS A GHOST TOWN

Time square is absolute sh*t compared to the real thing

I think they should update this and add at least 70% of the population in times square, and i bet other peaple would love that update

You just have to remember that it may not be techinically feasible to have

that many peds on screen at once. the processors and stuff have to work

really hard to maintain the fluidity of the experience.

I actually think the game is quite well populated. There are loads of cars

around times square and other busy areas, when compared with most games.

Also the on foot pedestrians are quite dense in some areas.

I don't really know to be honest. I would guess that the 360 still has a lot more potential

if developers care to unlock it, so to speak. i mean look how long it took for developers

to begin maximising the potential of the PS2. not until games like San Andreas came out.

Not entirely sure about the storage capacities, but as far as i know there was still

space on the GTAIV disc. i think the population issue is really another matter, such

as the processor, or the amount of RAM. Although this is speculation on my part as

i don't really know what i'm talking about

Agree, they say it's a "living, breathing city" but how come it feels so dull and deserted in star junckon???

If the consoles could handle more peds, there would be more peds. They will always push the system to it's limit, technology increases through allowing for better graphics etc over time, but they have done the best they can at this time.

If everyone had supercomputers that fill rooms, Liberty would be packed with peds.

I shouldn't imagine it will die. just maintain it's focus on a different target audience.

PC technology gets better all the time and can constantly be upgraded, whereas if

you buy a console, that's it until the next gen' comes out. Also you have to consider

the huge profits to be made from MMO games such as World of Warcraft, these pull

in massive audiences and i doubt they will die anytime soon

can someone please tell me how you get from "GTA 4 is a ghost town to PC gaming is dying". Please if you are not a PC gamer you do not know what you are talking about so stick to the topic in hand and keep your moronic opinions to yourselves.

I wasn't specifically singling you out Tony Mozzaralli 80 you can clearly see this sintrum is a PS3 fanboy so you expect rubbish like "pc is dying" and "360 holding PS3 back" from him. I find it is best not to entertain such rubbish. I mean the guy actually thinks consoles have better technology than the PC, you just can't reason with someone like that.

I see your point. But to be honest, i find it amusing and even fascinating to delve

into the psyche upon which these 'opinions' are based

Well if IO Interactive managed to pull of a level like this on a game which ran on everything from the PlayStation 2 to the PC, Xbox and Xbox 360 way back in may of 06, i'm having a bit of a hard time swallowing the fact that the gaming platforms are entirely to blame. I think the fundamental mistake was R*'s decision to implement euphoria. Sure, you end up with a game with perhaps some of the most realistic animations on the market but consequently all those unique animations which are generated on the fly catch up to you. They simply take up too many hardware resources for the game to function at 'playable' speeds if a larger population is implemented. In effect, R* shot itself in its own foot with euphoria, gaining on realistic animations but losing out on population density. Whatever the case, you decide. I'm merely here to offer a different perspective...

Ya, it completely blows how deserted Star Junction is.

I mean, that was supposed to be such an incredible location in IV, yet it's not amazing in the least. If Times Square was that abandoned in real life, I'd think there was a terrorist attack happening and run for it...
