How do i sign up to become an assassin

You dont necessarily sign up, but I guess you're an assassin one you've killed your first target.

Just get a gun (or guns), get a vehicle (one from the vehicle list on the first page of this thread), and check the open targets list on the first page as well. Choose your target, eliminate them, and report back here, with photos, if possible.

How do i sign up to become an assassin

I would recommend reading through the thread so far. Learn our history. To ignore one's past is to build on sand...

We often have to spend many many days and nights sitting on a lonely rooftop scrutinising each face in the passing crowd through a sniper-sight.

We can claim few virtues, but patience must be one of them. If you find the thought of reading 50 or so screen pages of text daunting, then maybe this isn't the profession for you...

Wax on. Wax off...

New assasin reporting in.

Hello dear brothers/sisters,

I just came into liberty city because people in my own country started to talk.

The maffia gave me money for a boat, after years of service for the mob in Holland I needed to go away from there and start a new life.

Because immigrants can't get a good job in Liberty City I decided I need to go back to my roots as a High- Class assasin.

So yes here I am and ready to complete any tasks.

I sold my boat for a Black Huntley sport I'm still waiting for my special weapons shipment.

If everything is good I will be getting this package tonight.

I will do my best to become a real brother to you people.

Regards,

Rastahman.

Brother grand theft awesome; as a gesture of apology for the East Borough Bridge debacle I thought I would try to clear up one of your outstanding contracts for you, specifically the Annihilator scouts at the airport.

Not usually my cup of tea, that sort of thing, but I went there in a specially prepared PMP600, strapped up in Kevlar and all set for carnage.

I drove to the gate to the north, where you can get a view of the helipads without having to trespass on the tarmac. Unfortunately, there was only one chopper present, I didn't think this would be enough to satisfy you. I drove around the car-park for several hours, hoping some more would land, but; no luck.

Eventually I resigned myself to the fact that one lone target would be better than none. From experience, I knew that I could drive out to it and drop a grenade out of the window, but that would definitely incur the full wrath of the law. But perhaps an RPG from a distance would get me into a little less trouble.

Ever mindful of the exit strategy, I turned the PMP round in the gate so it was ready for a fast getaway. I braced myself against it and aimed the RPG and fired. The Annihilator burst into shards of burning wreckage.

I quickly got back into the car, ready for the inevitable chase back to safety... And... nothing... No alarms, no shouting. Nothing but the sound of debris falling and my gently idling engine...

I have no real explanation. It's true that while I turned the car round the lone coward on the gate ran off as I appeared to be driving toward him, but someone must have seen what I did?

I drove home quietly, sucking a thoughtful tooth. Maybe I live a charmed life. But, maybe there is an unseen hand that orchestrates events around me for some unknown purpose of their own.

Only in multiplayer three spawn, only 1 spawns in single player.

Jack Jones & Gerry Martinez

user posted imageuser posted image

Jack Jones was last seen in a coffee house on Star Junction. He is a key member in the 'men in black's' Bahama Mamas operation. Jack Jones is an nuclear-physisist fresh from Cambridge University, England. Rumor has it he is at work on a new type of cataclismic bomb, capable of apocolyptic destruction. He must be stopped at all costs. Due to the small information, and the priority of the hit, the value for this mark is $1000.

Gerry Martinez works the transport side of the operation. He uses his business in East Algonquin to front the purchase and maintenance of the 'men in black's' vehicles. Get over to Grotti Motors and deal with Martinez, and deliver a harsh blow the the MIB's operations. The pay for this hit is $250.

Just To Check That One Again, I Went Back To The Bridge And There Was Another Officer, This Time I Fed Him To The Shotgun, And The Car A Grenade, He's Definetely Dead And I Don't Think They'll Put Another Man On The Bridge lol.gif

Ever thorough, as always, Brother.

But; only one grenade? You must be mellowing... wink.gif

Mellowing? MELLOWING?! Never I Just Happened To Have An Incident With A Passing By Cruiser Meaning There Was No Time For Another, A Bat And An RPG.... Maybe Another Time, My Ruthlessness Never Stops, Oh And I Think That Airport Annihilator Scout Does Seem A Little Suspicious, For I Was Over There Just Today And The Police Got Me Just For Looking At Some Of The Scouts, An M-16 Cleared That Issue Up. But Yeah, Go Back, Go Again And If No Police Attention, We May Have A Problem On Our Hands, Cya Round.

I am reassured about the single grenade. Your remorseless brutality is one of those comforting certainties in life... "Yet stands the clock at ten to three? And is there honey still for tea?"

I repeated the experiment at the airport; by standing just inside the gate with a rocket launcher, I was able to destroy another Annihilator, and once again the incident passed without incident.

In considering my past cases; whenever I have come to police attention it has never been as serious as might be expected. More than a little peculiar...

I have spent so much of my time trying to pass without notice, to become a ghost dog, a tabla rasa. That singleness of purpose has obviously had it's effects. I have come to the only logical conclusion: I am literally becoming invisible!

It was a relief to come to that realisation; I had begun to doubt my own sanity!

Unfortunately Gerry Martinez was already assassinated by DanManUtd (read page 52), and I know he was on the Open Targets list, but thats only because OdDsOcK (our leader, so to speak) hasn't updated the Open Targets list since Gerry was taken out. Don't worry, this has happened before. Yesterday, three of us took out what InfiniteMonkey described as "an entire relief shift of cops" while we were all looking for the same officer. Embarrassing, to say the least. Perhaps you took out his twin brother, who was collecting Martinez's personal effects from his old office?

I have an update on my character's current situation.

With the $2400 I've raised through assassinations (and one rescue), I've bought an apartment in East Holland! It was $2100 in total. (For those of you wondering, yes, it's the apartment from "Lure". I was going to use the apartment you find Tony Benevidez in, but since this one is harder to get into (and better looking) I decided to use it instead).

The apartment also came with a parking space out front. But I will not be parking my Marbelle there, I'll be parking my all-black Sabre GT that I traded my Marbelle for.

He only agreed to do it if I threw in two hundred bucks, so I did. With one hundred dollars left, I went to the nearest Panoramic store and bought a laptop for the apartment. No longer will I have to go to the [email protected] cafe to get assignments! I also made a deal with the landlord and was able to park my van in the alley behind the apartment.

Hopefully the men in black will have a harder time finding this apartment.

I got him a page back, here, what you can do is get a man in AutoEroticar (very NW of Alderney City and just south of the highway), he's got black hair, glasses, and wears a black suit. He normally stands by the cars. I'll give you $250 for him if you have him dead, and if you kill the person that normally cleans outside you can have another $150. Another one of my assignments is a man in the centre of Star Junction who smokes, and he also wears balck glasses (although he may wear no glasses, but with a brown hat (non-baseball)), a black suit, a black and white tie and a white shirt underneath the suit, he is also black. Check up on a last few of my posts to get a background. Kill him by Friday and get $500, after Friday it'll be $750.

Happy Hunting!

For these assignments, could you give it till Saturday or Sunday just for the new people to rack up some money. Thanks Dan.

Congrats Pat on your new hideout and vehicle. I hope you enjoy it. I won't be taking any money out of your account if that's what you were thinking. The money is more of a rating system than anything, but if people want to use it I'll bring something up after the updates, which are right here!

Scribblemaster pulled in 75% of all targets since the last update, taking out AssassinMessenger's John K. Towers for $500, DanManUtd's Julie Williamson for $250 and his target Officer Ross McCormack for $500 as well. abalmer was the only other who took out a target, which was (in this case "were") his first kills. They were Harry & Derrick Morewell, as given out by DanManUtd. I felt the pay was too high and the job was poorly described and mildly confusing, so he got $450 instead of $640.

davidwheildon recently contacted me about an idea for the monetary system. Nowadays I simply have it as a rating system between assassins, but he proposed that assassins could use their funding to buy personalized items like paint jobs for cars (especially since he said he'd love a Sabre GT with a nice racing stripe). I'm open to this idea entirely, so let's give this a go, eh? davidwheildon, I invite you to openly discuss your plans here for your idea, because we didn't talk in-depth about it.

Ben, I'm sorry you took out an already dead mark because I hadn't updated the thread. Good luck with the next one, and my bad.

The rest of you assassins, keep being awesome. Give me more stuff to put on the Assassin Database.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot some new targets for you guys!

Target(s): Teresa & Julia Rivers (photo #1), Michael "Mickey" O'Neal (photo #2)

user posted imageuser posted image

Location(s): Meadows Park

Briefing: Teresa & Julia Rivers are a happy, healthy married (or civil union-ed) lesbian couple who, like our other targets, certainly enjoy the park as well as their adopted 10 year-old son. They are often found together with cameras in hand, as they are both avid photography enthusiasts. Michael O'Neal is a first-timer in this case of our client's requests because he's the only one so far that has something bad to his name. An honest dock worker and loyal friend to many, he has a habit of drinking a bit much, especially since his wife was killed in a car accident two years ago, leaving him to care for his four children. Regardless, nothing indicates he's been a horrible father. Well, it's what the client ordered...

The married couple will be worth 1400 together, 600 separate. The Irishman will be worth the normal amount: $1000.

Happy Hunting brothers.

Job done

I drove to the targets last sighted area, climbed a billboard there and waited patiently.

Looking through my sights I could see lots of biker types, but none fitted the description of my target.

After about 4 game hours, Derrick walked into my sight, poor man

Yeah sorry about that, when I set the $40 per car I didn't realise that, that there were that many, and my camera wasn't uploading to my PC at the time.

Hi,

This looks like a great topic. I don't yet have GTA IV but I'll be sure to drop by when I get it.

I read all the first post and first page, but there's still a few things that puzzle me...

- Is it played offline in single player mode?

- Are the car and clothing rules compulsory?

- How are the car and clothing rules enforced?

- Does somebody just post a random pedestrian, give them a back story, and then someone else kills them?

- Once the assassin has killed, does he/she then post here with pics along with the debriefing?

- Also, how are pictures taken?

- What's the money thing do? Do the contractors set the fee, and upon killing, does the killer actually collect the money or is it just part of the topic?

Sorry if the questions sound a little noobish, as I said, I haven't got the game yet but will do this when I get it biggrin.gif

In response to OdDsOcK's comments, I thought that it would be a good idea to spend some of our lovely cash on things like paint jobs to personalise cars. For a car of high quality the paint job would be more and thus less for a 'lower' quality car if you get what I mean. Also perhaps the more lucrative the paint job the more expensive it could be. Maybe usuing a signature vehicle could earn a small bonus on hits with it it in the photo?

If I get some positive feedback on the idea I will, with OdDsOcK's permission draw up a rough price list on what you want. A sort of quote if you like smile.gif

So yeh, any takers? biggrin.gif

:: SERIAL KILLER STRIKES AGAIN ::

Today's news headline should make your client happy. The driver of a white Huntley Sport met a tragic end today when he was killed at the wheel on Star Junction. The driver in his mid thirties had no known criminal connections and was a loved family man. His family are said to be 'heart-broken'.

Ballistics experts have sais that the unknown sniper fired from the roof of the BAWSAQ building. Security guards have been suspended while an inquest into how anyone got onto the roof are completed. Police have called it an expert killing.

I have provided photographs below.

Sorry if the questions sound a little noobish, as I said, I haven't got the game yet but will do this when I get it biggrin.gif

1. Yes, it's in singleplayer. I'm thinking about ideas for multiplayer joint assassinations.

2. I could say they are, but really they're more just for fun. I can't stop you from wearing or driving what you please and to ban you because you don't obey them is just being a jerk. Really it's just so people can feel more in character.

3. Like I said previously, they're not heavily enforced or anything. It's just for character.

4. Pretty much, yeah.

5. Yes. Some assassins don't have the ability to post pictures so they simply give a good story instead.

6. A simply digital camera. Take a picture of your TV screen, then put the photos on your computer and upload to a website.

7. The money system right now is simply a ranking system of sorts. Clearly, the ones with the most money are the most experienced, or at least the most tenacious. Contractors may set the pay amount as long as it is or is under $600, but really an assassin's pay depends on me, as I overview their kills and decide the amount they deserve. I didn't allow contractors to generally set an amount because I didn't want any contractors giving ridiculously high pay for their targets and screwing up the balance. Pay is so low (less than $600 when most hitman jobs are in the thousands) because it's easier to track and it's justified by the organization taking a large portion of the pay to better suit its assassins in the field. I could elaborate more if you want but I'll stop there. This is a long bullet point!

I hope to see you "killing in the name of" soon.

DanManUtd,

I didn't mean to imply you wrote the job description poorly, I was talking about the assassin who described the completion. My bad man.

vipermedic,

I think I did miss it. Let me get it tonight when I update.

davidwheildon,

Please do post a price listing for your ideas! I couldn't think of a reason why not.

Julia Rivers has been taken care of. I spotted her walking in Meadows Park on her own, Teresa was nowhere to be found. I walked up behind her, cocked the gun, and said "Where is Teresa?". She then suddenly screamed and then quickly turned around and hit me in the face. She tried to pull the gun out of my hands, but I was too strong for her, and I shot her in the leg. She let go of the gun and screamed out in pain. She wasn't going to tell me where Teresa was, so I put a bullet in her head.

OdDsOcK; please do elaborate more on the money system.

Is the fee, for example, reduced based on the number of innocent bystanders killed? etc.

I did have a thought about the money; although I would hate to burden you with additional admin.

But I'm just thinking out loud, so feel free to dismiss it.

How about a system of authorised weapons, as well as clothing and vehicles?

Each Assassin buys the right to use certain weapons, and maybe clothing and vehicles;

They are only allowed to use weapons they have paid for in advance.

No one is going to stop you from pulling out an unauthorised M16 if you are unexpectedly cornered,

but if you do you will be fined.

Similarly; using non-sanctioned vehicles won't get you as much money as you could potentially earn for upholding the tenets and the reputation of the fraternity.

On the downside - as well as the administrative headaches -

Descriptions of kills will probably get bogged down in tangential details.

People will go for the easy money jobs, which will end up in repeats of the recent "Prom night massacre" or clusterf*ck.

There is a risk that it might stifle creativity. eg: packing a Black PMP with explosives, speeding down on a target then bailing out and using it as a torpedo, might be a tempting thing to try, but I'd think twice if I had to actually pay for it all myself.

As I say; just a thought...

It would be nice if you could fine people for posting oversized pictures and breaking the page. wink.gif Tee-hee...

I'd like that idea or the painjobs and the cars etc, but for the cars, can they just be from the select list? And will guns be put into it etc. Love the idea though.
