GTA 3 crashes in the intro of 'the exchange'

GTA 3 crashes, when I start the mission of Catalina on Shoreside Vale, named 'the exchange' in the intro. This game runned in my computer abput 1 year ago, but my computer's video card was upgraded from NVIDIA GEforce MX 440 to RADEON 9250, and the memory was increased from 256 MB to 768 MB till that. I always turn off anti-virus protections before I start the game, only my firewall is turned on.

Can you help me? Is my video card bad?

I would suggest you try these 2 things I can think of:

  • Delete gta3.set
  • Update video card drivers

Flesh-n-Bone

Thanks, where can I find gta3.set file?

In "C:\My Documents\GTA3 User Files".

Try reinstalling the game and see if that helps ya.

Will my savegame remain? Cause I don't want to start this over again.

Yes it will. If you re-install GTA3, You will not lose your save games, they are in My Documents\GTA3 User Files, and the uninstallation process won't delete them. wink.gif
