Darkdrium
E6600 2.4GHz 8800GTS 640MB 2GB RAM On some mission cutscenes, when a character speaks, some of the line doesn't match their mouth. But it seems to match the cutscene video, subtitles etc.. (Like if in a cutscene, a character fires a gun. The fire and sound matches). It only doesn't seem to match their mouth. But not all lines are messed, some are synced nicely. Is this normal for everyone? I tried both, Frame limiter on and off. Playing in Window 98 Compatibility mode. Doesn't fix the problem. Girish
Start > Run > Type 'dxdiag' > Click on the Sound tab. What level is your sound acceleration at? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/357989-cutscene-sync/#findComment-1058268186 Share on other sites
Darkdrium
Basic acceleration, if I set it to Full I will get audio problems in game. Like no sound at all when it rains or whatever. Ryan
I'm not sure if it will help you or not as I'm not too good with these sound issues but if your up for it try reinstalling the game and see if that helps your issue any. Girish
Basic acceleration, if I set it to Full I will get audio problems in game.Like no sound at all when it rains or whatever. That's your problem right there. Basic or No acceleration will always give you an audio lag and sadly, there's nothing you can do about it. I have my sound acceleration at None and the audio lag too, I have just learnt to live with it. Darkdrium
Thanks for pointing out my problem. I will test on Standard of Full. Update : Tried both, it's still the same.. I'll go try download older version of eax.dll. Update2 : eax.dll 3.0.6.6 is used, but still the same. Probably everyone have it. (It's this mission cutscene called "wear flower in your hair"). Btw, some part are synced properly, only a few lines aren't. Darkdrium
To be honest, I don't know how to update my sound card driver. I have an onboard soundcard, when I reformatted and installed the driver. It didn't work. So I installed another soundcard, I don't know what is it called, but I went to dxdiag and check @ Sound, Device name is "SB Live! [D000]" . If anyone don't mind, can you help me find a link to download the correct driver? Bad~Boy#17
You have a Creative Sound Blaster Live sound card, if I'm not mistaken. Try these drivers if they match your hardware http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/creativesb51.html Edit: Haha, I beat all of you Edited June 19, 2008 by Bad~Boy#17 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/357989-cutscene-sync/#findComment-1058268431 Share on other sites
Ryan
I'm guessing the SB is 'Sound Blast'. In which case you can download drivers for it here. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/357989-cutscene-sync/#findComment-1058268432 Share on other sites

Darkdrium
Yeah, it's Sound blaster which my current driver is. I will go update it, thanks everyone for your help. @ Girish 5.12.0001.0252 UPDATE : I installed a new driver, it didn't have sounds at all. So I reinstalled back my old driver from the disc. Then I started GTA SA, started the very same mission which I had sync problem. Then everything was fixed! Now it sync properly. All I did was reinstall my sound driver, it was the same version when I started this thread. Acceleration level was Basic, as stated from girish, Basic or No acceleration would give me lag. But my setting was Basic. Now the question is, how did reinstalling driver (same version) fix it? Could it be the settings of the sound driver which fixed it?
